This was my first visit to Hot Box. I've been meaning to give them a visit. Today, they offered $1 pizza slices! The place was busy with a lot of carry out orders. I ordered a salad and two slices of the pepperoni pizza. The pizza took about 15 minutes to come out as it was piping hot, just like I like it. The salad was really good and fresh. It was basic garden salad with cukes, tomatoes, cheese. Everything was crisp and fresh. I was only able to eat one slice of pizza, because the slices were huge and filling. The pepperoni was nice and spicy. The staff is friendly, but was busy. They may have been short staffed for the day. Tables could have used some cleaning. The dining area is pretty non descript. There are about 10 tables and limited decor. The place has a fast food vibe. All in all, it was a great lunch at a great price. I'd definitely order again. read more

This location is our go-to pizza choice. The W.Carmel / Zionsville location has outstanding service and food. Salads are always crisp, breadsticks always perfect and their thin crust style is very unique. It's a couple steps up from Papa John's and Donato's and quality rivals niche locations. Man, I wanted to love this place. We ordered as part of a fundraiser for our school. So nice of them to donate part of their proceeds. Our order was dropped off on the porch without notice.. no doorbell, no call or text. So it sat for a few minutes and was cold. I called to let them know. A few weeks later, they sent a post card for a free pizza. I ordered the free pizza and.. again, cold. We live exactly 1.2 miles away, so I don't understand why it's so cold. Maybe we were the last ones on their way back to the shop? Either way.. we aren't ordering again. Too many other great options to settle for cold pizza. read more

I am by no means a pizza connoisseur. Quite honestly, the times I even consider pizza as a meal option are rare. HotBox Pizza does not advertise itself as some upscale Italian joint selling fancy pizza. It is somewhere on the scale of better than a Dominoes and less commercialized than a Pizza Hut. It is a regular American pizza joint with packets of parmesan cheese, paper plates and delivery. But considering the "kid factor" of my four nieces (aged 7-14), they think HotBox Pizza is a better choice versus other pizza options in their Zionsville area. Maybe it is the hot bread stix with the dipping sauces (which are always a crowd pleaser) or the variety of toppings including those that please my pescatarian diet, but HotBox Pizza is OK by my book. If I have been to this spot picking up pizza and taking it home maybe every year for three years, I always like that there is some young, personable kid behind the counter who is eager to make us happy....and give me my free order of stix that they give me by checking in on Yelp! read more

Ordering ahead on a Friday night was a joke. Ordered an hour before desired pickup (time that was an option), waited 20 minutes beyond desired pickup time. Will not come to this location ever again. I've never minded spending a little bit more for HotBox and probably dropped over a grand there in the last couple years for my kids slumber oarties and when my wife works a late 12 hour shift. Skipping it until they remove their mask policy now that the State does not require it. They are a private business, and can do as they please, but I'm fully vaccinated and don't really need some teenager to give me an earful about how they still require masks. I love everything about Hot Box. Best breadsticks in town. We are partial to the skinny crust. But what I'm excited about is something I figured out recently -- you can customize the Italian Stallion salad! Add green peppers and mushrooms if you want. Hold the cheese. WhAtever floats your boat. The ranch dressing is homemade and a fave in our house, but I LOVE the balsamic vinaigrette. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. read more

Was looking for a quick pizza option on a Sunday evening. Was really hoping for delivery but the wait was over an hour. We live close so we ended up doing carry out instead. Per usual it's always a cheap option for decent pizza. It's not gourmet but I feel like I know exactly what I'm getting every single time and I like that it's consistently good pizza for the price. My co-worker offered to pick up lunch for us all today, so we all went to the website and placed our orders. The process was easy and I appreciated the lunch deal. For $5.99 you can choose between a slice of pizza, 5 breadsticks w/sauce of your choice, and/or a salad. I opted for breadsticks and salad. It was filling and the breadsticks were soft and warm. :) The salad comes with a little cheese, pepperoni, banana peppers, and iceberg lettuce. A little different, so that's fun. Dressing option: balsamic vinaigrette. Pretty standard. The only weird part was that she had to take our credit cards with her (per the website) to show before they would release the order. Think out side of the box customers! They have some good dough, sauce and cheese options. So If you know how to pick it right it would serve you better than getting the plain regular one. Our first time we got their special ("large pizza and blah blah blah for only 15.99!"). It was just ok, like I wish I just got something from the grocery store freezer. But when we went the third time we changed it up and it was amazing (hubby got skinny crust with fontina, me hippie with pesto). Everything seemed way fresher. It's too bad hot box is not pushing their other cheeses, and crusts are actually way better. I've been to many hotbox locations around Hamilton county and this one is BY FAR the best location of the bunch! Their stix are always fresh and perfectly salted and the pizza is to die for! Whenever I am in the area I always stop in because I know this store will give me the best damn pizza in town! The staff is always super friendly and very quick. This is my husbands favorite pizza place! It's a great choice when you don't feel like cooking! I always go for the Hawaiian "aloha" pizza but my next choice is the porky pig if you don't like pineapple on your pizza! We always get breadsticks with extra nacho cheese to top it off! This pizza is NOT melting gooey cheese, flavorful sauce, crispy crust, succulent toppings or ANYTHING pizza should be. This pizza is Doughy crust VERY little sauce or cheese. "sausage" turns out to be loose dry bits lying on top. They can't cook the crust long enough to begin to be crisp, due to the basic lack of topping. MANY frozen pizzas are better and MUCH cheaper. Pleasantly surprised by Hotbox Pizza. Knowing it was a chain I expected a Pizza Hut taste. Thankfully I was wrong. Their breadsticks were amazing. They tasted crispy, chewy but light and the marinara was very tasty. The double pepperoni pizza thin crust was very good. Some of the pepperoni turns out crispy while the bottom layer turns out a little more soft and greasy but in a good way. The small was a little big for one person but you could get away with a small for 3-4 people, which is great. The prices are reasonable and they have tons of specials. Pizza is usually fairly good, service is questionable. Ordered pizza to go, showed up 20 minutes later to pick it up and they didnt have an order for it. Instead of apologizing the employee said we must have called a different location and blamed us. After ordering another pizza waiting 12 minutes, which was quick. We went home, checked our phone and we did call the right number... maybe employees shouldn't blame the customers, not impressed! read more

Could not order online because apparently it is not an option at this location. Thankfully another location delivered to us, since this is a recurring problem. You need to fix these issues and you'd probably have more customers. read more

We get the Family Meal Deal all the time. Good fast-food pizza and great bread sticks (just like Noble Romans used to make when they first started locally). The deal comes with two beverages in constantly changing souvenir-style plastic cup designs. Have quite the collection going!!! Love the mini tootsie rolls tucked inside each pizza box. I had high hopes for this HotBox since it's closer to my house than the one up on Carmel Drive. I wasn't disappointed! In fact, I might like this one better. The pizza seemed a lot more seasoned, and the staff is very friendly. Great location and great service! Will be back definitely. read more

Their pizza and breadsticks might be good, but their customer service is a joke. Redbox and Chase ATMs offer better customer service than this place. I've decided to upgrade my rating. While their response to my complaint doesn't change the fact that I left their store without items I paid for, it does show that they care enough to follow up. If the associates in their stores provided the customer service that I received after filing a complaint, this would be a 5 star establishment. read more

We used to order from here all the time. They also agreed to deliver to us, even though we were one block outside of their delivery radius. This went on for a few years. They were awesome! We always tipped the driver more than 20% for their consideration as well. All of a sudden they decided to stop delivering to us. Switched to take out, but even that has become difficult. We often have someone else pick up our pizza and would like to pay by credit card over the phone. Last order, I had to insist several times that this was the only way I'd pay before the guy on the phone would process the order. Will be ordering elsewhere from now on. read more

We were the only ones in the restaurant, our pizza came out in about 25 minutes. It was not what we ordered. We told the employee, she rolled her eyes at us and was visibly annoyed. Breadsticks came shortly after, then the correct pizza came. The food was very good. We love the cheese sauce. If you're looking for a quiet place I would not go here. I waited for 90 minutes before calling to inquire about why my pizza had not been delivered, I only live 1500 feet from the store and gave them explicit directions regarding how I live across the street. The manager explained that even though I gave these morons the address they delivered it to an address cross town. He promised to remake it and deliver it but one hour later no pizza . I never did get a pizza delivered. I had ordered a pizza from this location the week before that showed up ok but had literally no sauce on it. The children running this store. Are scum of the earth in my book. Trash. What kind of a lowly cretin would promise delivery with no intention of delivering.
