I love a good New York style pizza so I was really excited to try this place. Our first attempt was a few months ago when they were sold out on a Wednesday night. We actually took that as a good sign of small business success and planned to come back more prepared. We finally ordered for the first time a few months ago and tried the Sweet Pig. It wasn't my favorite. I enjoy all of those ingredients individually and even together in other foods, but on this pizza it just didn't work for me. That part comes down to personal taste rather than a flaw in the restaurant. We gave them another chance tonight and ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza along with garlic knots and all three dipping sauces. Overall I would still say the pizza is just alright and not really worth the price. Our vodka dipping sauce was ice cold, and the cheese was also surprisingly cold. We used our microwave to heat them up, then they were great! Our pizza arrived lukewarm. Also, it was inconsistent throughout. Some areas were over sauced while others were under sauced. Cheese coverage also varied a lot, with some slices heavily topped and others nearly bare. The slicing was uneven as well, with some pieces noticeably larger than others. We really wanted to give them a fair shot after the first visit, but this experience felt like it reflected more of a consistency issue. When everything came together in one bite it could be really good, but the problem is that the quality changed so much from bite to bite that it was hard to enjoy the pizza as a whole. The garlic knots??? PHENOMENAL!! I'm not sure if we will give them another try, but based on other reviews it seems like our experience is not uncommon.

Love NY style pizza and miss it in Midwest. Ordered take out after hearing the space inside is small. It is small with 3(?) tables inside and a few outside. Walked right in as my order was called out. Perfect timing. We just got a cheese pie. Smelled delicious. Pizza more than enough for 4 of us in our family. We enjoyed the pizza. Crust a little chewier than I like, but would come back.

This is an overglorified thin crust pizza. Slap a New York name on it and burn the edges and they think they can charge $35 for one size of pizza. It tasted OK. It's not great. It's good, but it's not great. There's no reason for this pizza to cost $35. That's just some ridiculous Hamilton County bougie spending. For that amount, I was expecting a pizza that would knock my socks off. That didn't happen. I have been to New York many times, and didn't really get that vibe from their pizza. Sure, it's thin and crispy... but some things you just can't replicate. It's close, but I can get a better slice in NY for $2-5. They need to drop their price point to about $25 for this pizza to make any sense at all. You can get a massive deep dish at Giordano's for $26... This is a super thin pizza with hardly any toppings, and it's $10 more. On top of all that, just look at any review that is 3 stars or less and you'll probably see a snarky remark from the owner. Not the kind of guy I want to do business with. If you're going to run a business, you have to be prepared for some moderate and negative reviews... but this guy can't handle it. Instead of learning and improving he wants to argue about the experience people had and make it their fault. (Look for the review where the guy got hung up on and was called a liar... he even posted his phone log!) You probably would have had me as a repeat customer at a reasonable price point and some manners, but it's an experience I don't need to repeat. EDIT/ UPDATE: There you have it, folks. The angry, snarky response from the owner that we all knew was going to happen showed up in record time. He can't take any criticism at all. Take his advice- please DO read my other reviews. I'm very fair, and tell it like it is. My point stands- $35 is robbery for a thin pizza with a moderate (at best) amount of toppings. It's kind of a unique pizza, but it's also uniquely overpriced.

Easily the best pizza in Indy. I'm usually not a fan of honey on pizza but they do it right. Not too much just enough to add the flavor. The crust and dough have an incredible texture and crunch. The sauce was fantastic. They sprinkle on some of the topics (basil) after it's cooked to make sure it stays fresh and not soggy. The seating is limited so make sure you plan ahead for that. I will be back. Great service, good vibes.

If you're looking for New York style pizza in the Midwest look no further. Keep in mind, they do take close to an hour to prepare but they are well worth the wait and you can order online to plan ahead. We had a vodka sauce pizza with pepperoni and mushroom. The pizzas are large with 8 big slices. We have been struggling to find a really good pizza spot on the north side but we definitely found it! Will definitely be back when wanting pizza again!

This pizza is the best NY Style pizza.- in indy! The garlic rolls were delish, not too oily and fantastic flavor of garlic and Parmesan. The pizza had a very solid undercarriage and healthy amount of parm and basil. Would come back here everyday if I lived closer!!

Easily one of the best pizza places in Indy! Definitely the best New York style pizza in Indy! The restaurant is hidden in a plaza in Noblesville, so it's not easy to see if you're driving by. It's mainly a take-out restaurant, but they do have a few seats inside. They have a few classic flavors and usually a special each week. Highly recommend the classic pepperoni, garlic knots, and stuffed sticks. Everything is so delicious and full of flavor! It is a bit expensive, but the pizza is huge like Costco-sized big. I love this pizza place, and everyone needs to try it. I promise it'll be your go-to pizza place. There's also a big free parking lot right in front of the restaurant.

I was so excited to try this pizza! Unfortunately it was not worth the ride... They only serve beer and soda and it is by no means a sit down restaurant. There are limited tables which most are used for waiting customers because you will definitely wait! The cream soda and stuffed sticks were 10/10 and the sauce was superb! I get one of their selling points is "char" but unfortunately my pizza was overcooked. It was dry and barely had any sauce. I was expecting a flop, but that didn't happen. It could have been because we asked for extra cheese, not sure. Also, we dined in and my pizza was warm when it came to the table. If it weren't so far away from me I would try again because I did someone else's pizza that was smoking hot and looked amazing, nothing like mine. I hate to mention the customer that requested the cashier to move the table that was attached to ours because we were just too scary to sit by. Definitely killed the vibe.

great pizza. Just missing the NYC water filtration system.
    Tim C.

I've never had the chance to visit New York City, but I've enjoyed plenty of New York-style pizza in and around the Orlando area over the years. There's usually one feature that stands out in those Florida pizzerias: a prominently displayed New York Water Filtration System, a nod to the belief that it's the water that gives New York pizza its signature taste and texture. So when I walked into Brooklyn Char and didn't see the filtration system showcased, I was a little skeptical. But after the first bite, all doubt melted away. The crust had that perfect balance--chewy yet crisp--and the sauce was flavorful without overpowering. Honestly, their pizza stacks up surprisingly well against the ones I've had in Florida that go all-out to replicate the NYC vibe. The dining area was clean and welcoming albeit small. Definitely geared for carryout. Staff were friendly and efficient, and service was prompt even during the Friday dinner rush. It's clear they take pride in their product. Whether you're a pizza purist or just craving a solid New York-style slice, this place delivers. I'll definitely be back for more--and next time I might leave the friends so I don't have to share.

    The Godzilla
    Krishna P.

After hearing lots of great things about this place, my friend and I thought to carry out from here and wow, we were shocked at the size of the pizza! This is the Godzilla - jalapeños, Serrano, hot honey, a spicy lovers dream! I wished if they had smaller sizes but the pizza was absolutely amazing! The restaurant itself is kind of small so definitely getting take out!

Pepperoni and mushroom pizza. We added our own olives.

Best pizza we've had in metro Indy since moving here 9 nine years ago. We moved from Scottsdale/Phoenix (home of James Beard-nominated Pizzeria Bianco) to Carmel-Westfield, Indiana and have been searching for the best pizza nearby. Brooklyn Char hits the mark for New York City pizza. Thin, chewy, yet crispy crust. High-quality tomato sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. They do not offer olives, so we sauteed some at home and sprinkled over the pizza. A smaller size would be appreciated for my kids who don't eat leftovers but want just cheese pizza. Two big pizzas is a lot of pizza. Pricier than most pizza places but it is worth it for the quality. This will be our new go-to pizza place.

    Chris B.

TL;DR: It's an ok pizza but not a great value for what you get. I probably won't be back. Food: So let's get right to it; no flop (good), sauce was just ok, cheese was too thick in places, and had a sad amount of toppings. Cost: It is a large pizza but the average person would eat 3-4 slices (so one pizza would feed 2 adults) making it a mediocre value at $30 for a pizza. Service: Service was good, no issues there. Ambiance: Not much to the restaurant, definitely more of a takeaway place though there were 10 or so seats inside and about the same outside. Overall: I really wanted to like this place, but the taste/quantity to value ratio just wasn't there for me.

Service and ambiance were both fantastic. I was one of the first customers of the day, and I dined-in. My server was delightful and attentive. There are a very small number of tables and booths available, but that's perfectly fine for a small-town pizza joint. As much as it pains me to say this, I found the pizza to be underwhelming. I was a bit surprised at the overall lack of bold flavors. The price point is great, and you get a lot of pizza for the dollar, but I was expecting much more of a flavor explosion. I had high hopes, because visually this pizza closely resembles my hometown favorite pizza as a kid (Volcano Pizza in Elkhart), but it just didn't live up to the expectations. I'm sure I'll give this place another try at some point, and maybe experiment with some other pizza combinations on the menu.

We also ordered the spring salad for $7. It consisted of spring mix, tomatoes, and homemade balsamic vinaigrette. The spring salad was good. The lettuce was fresh and nicely seasoned with the dressing. We really liked the homemade balsamic dressing. The pizza was very good and had a lot of toppings. As mentioned there is no variety or choice of size. The pizza only comes in a 12 inch, which was eight slices. Also, there is no choice of crust thickness. It is all a reasonably thin crust.
