Terrible. I ordered pizza at 8:30pm. The website said they closed at 9:30pm. My sister arrived at 9:10 to pick up the pizza and the door was locked but the workers were inside. Yummmmmmm!!!! We love this pizza spot! We don't live super close but anytime we are in the Carmel area, we make an effort to stop here, either for eat-in or takeout. The service is always very friendly and the food is ALWAYS amazing. We try to come early in the day before it is really busy and as we walk in, we are always greeted and offered to seat ourselves wherever we'd like. Our favorite is The Great White. On this last visit, we got a gluten free and a regular Great White. I was pretty impressed with the GF pizza. The other awesome thing is their soda mix. I dont get over to Mellow Mushroom very often, maybe twice a year. But have been coming for nearly 20 years! The food is always good. Service is always friendly. (If a little slow, but they can get very busy. Sit back and relax!) I really like the nice big booths in the back. We tend to always get the pretzels, and this time our pizza was just a pepperoni. (They have a lot of interesting options.) The dough is soooo good! My only negative is when our server said did we want a cheese sauce for the pretzles (they come with maranara.) What a neat spot! Lots of fun decor and art on the walls. It was very busy, but service speed was still good. We got a medium pepperoni and black olive pizza which was perfect for two people, but if you want leftovers, I suggest a large one. We were so hungry and the pizza was so good that I forgot to take a before picture. The pizza was on the greasier side. I will note that we had asked for it to be thin crust, yet I did not notice a difference between our crust and our friend's normal medium pizza crust. Oh well, it still tasted good. 6/7/25 - Witnessed a worker in the back eating veggies bare handed out of the bowl of salad he was preparing for the lunch crowd from my table. Waitress was friendly and both pizzas were good. 9/26/25 - Gave them another chance ordering 3 pizzas online on the way home from the airport and they could not find my ticket when I got there to pick them up. It would be a five star review, but the guy working at the front seemed way too overwhelmed for there only being two people in the restaurant in the kitchen wasn't frantic either. I hope that is not who's running the restaurant and I strongly doubt it because I don't think it would be doing as well as it is under that sort of management. The only other thing wrong with this restaurant is the pretzels. Those pretzels being a fan favorite makes absolutely no sense to me. It's just like a cornmeal pretzel and I don't know what is appealing about that at all. That experience was poor due to a waiter, not knowing the menu at all, and then telling us that the dietary restrictions that we have would only allow us to have breadsticks. I remember eating the breadsticks and then quickly leaving. And then going online to check again and finding out that we had tons of options. How do you guys not accept Apple Pay? Like I personally love going to hole in the wall restaurants and can honestly say I have only come across now one restaurant that doesn't have Apple Pay. Apple Pay just makes life easier and my friends. It really doesn't cost much to get a new reader, but I guess they like to keep it old school and in the past. But with the attitude of the guy, I had to talk to on the phone and then end up dealing with in the restaurant, I would not be surprised at all if you guys do have Apple Pay and he just didn't feel like accommodating my very normal request. The pizza was easily a 10 out of 10. I loved it. I just get a regular cheese pizza nothing special and it was really good. And it wasn't that expensive either which was nice. What I will say is that the pizza is a lot more dense than I thought it was gonna be because typically I get pretty close to finishing a large pizza by myself which is nothing to brag about. I am a big back but this pizza I made it halfway through and I was full. I did have some pretzels that were easily a two out of 10. The only reason they're not a one out of 10 is because it did taste like they might use some yeast and that's the only way I think pretzel should be made especially in a restaurant setting, but the fact that people love them for their pretzels is genuinely shocking. Overall, if you were wanting a quick good pizza this is definitely a great option in this area. I used to pick up DoorDash or Uber eats at this location pretty regularly and I remember they used to hire a ton of high school kids and that usually brings the customer service to the level of maturity of the high schoolers in that area. I'm trying to politely say that the high school kids in the caramel area are not the most mature people and sometimes it does work having such young kids running the front of a restaurant, but other times it just kind of becomes a little clicky and a lot of high schoolers are nervous to talk to people and it made for a very long experience with a lot of the Dashers and Uber eats drivers being pointed at made fun of stared at. There's nothing hiding what they were doing so we all saw it and kind of just ignored it because there's not much you can really do other than just not pick up orders there. I'm glad they decided to stay away from that and keep the same great kitchen staff that they've always had. I do recommend this place, but probably better off earlier in the day read more

A large mushroom by the front door and a VW Microbus creates a hippie motif. We were concerned about how quickly our food would arrive with 8 people. It turns out we were worried needlessly. Our server was great, and drinks arrived quickly with timely refills. The pizzas and sandwiches were delivered together so everyone could eat with each other and share yummy pizza slices. The menu offers salads (Bacon Blue Wedge), pretzel bites, spinach dip, wings, and Bruschetta. All I could make a meal of. Of course, you can create your own pizza, select gluten or vegan free, order one of the specialty pizzas, or modify any existing pizza. A few of the pizzas that caught my eye were the Holy Shiitake and Funky Q. Chicken. I ordered the Kosmic Karma pizza covered with red sauce, spinach, roasted tomatoes, fresh Roma tomatoes, mozzarella, and crumbled sheep's milk feta cheese plus applewood-smoked bacon. The toppings were fresh with generous portions of each ingredient and a chewy crust. The bacon was my favorite topping and not overcooked. My next pizza will be the Pacific Rim or Veg Out and add the apple-smoked bacon. My husband ordered the Burger and Fries and said it wasn't memorable. Ordered a large pepperoni and large Pacific Rim without jalapeños and a brownie. Not gonna lie, price was a bit steep $53. But the large was bigger than I expected so it made up for it. That was Impressive!!! Eight of us came to Mellow Mushroom after a local charity event. My wife loves MM because of the gluten-free and dairy-free options. She has Celiacs disease, and a dairy allergy, so safe places to eat are very important to her. We started with our drinks and began ordering appetizers, and our server, Delaney, let us know that she would do her best but asked for our patience. A large party of 40 had come in, and she was running TEN tables by herself. She didn't say this as an excuse, but she wanted us to know we were important to her and that she would do her best. During the course of the meal, Delaney was kind, attentive, friendly, funny, and had a phenomenal attitude. I was a server when I was younger and good at my job, but ten tables is a LOT, even for an experienced server. Delaney never lost her cool. She was fun, funny, friendly, and just a total class act. Everyone in our party loved her! I want to let the owners and corporate know that tonight Delaney represented your business superbly. Please give her my thanks and the thanks of our entire party. We were very impressed! If you do something for your employees who go above and beyond, please do something awesome for Delaney. She certainly deserves it.
