We have frequented this restaurant for years but not anymore! We arrived at 8:03 PM and thier posted hours of operation say they are open until 9 PM. The hostess sat us and said "our kitchen closes in 10 minutes so you'll need to hurry and place your order". I responded with, " I thought you were open until 9?" Her response, "well, the establishment is open until 9, but the kitchen closes at 9:30". We rush to select our food and when we go to order, the waitress says, "we're only serving Pho and rice dishes because our kitchen is closing". They made it very clear they were not interested in our business so I'm happy to take it elsewhere. read more

I ate here with a large party (about 11) that included adults and kids. I had the rare beef pho and my son had the teriyaki chicken kids meal. The service was fast, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. The kids meal had a really good presentation, I had a bit of mom envy looking at his plate. I ordered the small pho and it was plenty even for a very hungry lady. Absolutely love this place! We've never had anything we didn't like. Their Pho is super good. Our favorite in town. We used to go to a large chain and thought it was good, but this is GREAT. The staff is very nice, helpful, and friendly. The owner is often there and also very pleasant. Their bubble teas are great too! Love the fried tofu, gyoza, spring/fresh rolls, and crab wontons for appetizers. Chicken teriyaki is great. Love the larger portions. Their salads are great too. Their curry is AMAZING! I have visited Hot Ginger many of times with my family, we have never had an issue and were under the impression that this establishment was a great restaurant through and through. But until our last most recent experience I will not be eating there again. There was a man who worked there and had served me the past couple times and he did an amazing job with treating me and my family. He was by far the best employee there. As he was bringing our food to our table, the fresh boiling hot pho that was on his tray was poorly placed by a kitchen employee resulting in it sliding off and dropping off onto the employees foot causing 2nd degree burns. He immediately left and went to the hospital. Instead of the workers and manager being worried about his injuries, they were much more worried about the mess they had to clean up. After he had left, no one else came to check on us for refills or extra food. We waited 40 minutes just for the check as there were only 3 other tables while we were there. They ended up firing him over this incident claiming he could have worked through the pain and been completely fine. Again, I will never be eating there again as this was the worst restaurant experience i've ever had. read more

UPDATE: Idk if they have new owners, chefs, or what... but the service is no longer great. The staff is constantly changing. I went there and wanted to order my favorite dish (banh xeo) but the waitress (at the time) warned me that the chef who specializes in that dish wasn't there and that the other chef's banh xeo is not great tasting.. um ok. So I ordered something else (I was disappointed). Went there again after that and waited like 10 minutes just to get our menus, then another 10-15 minutes to get the waiter to come over so we could finally order.(young boy at the time, this was about 2 months ago) I ordered the banh xeo. The food took longer than normal. The staff was unfriendly, and the water tasted like shit. (Please believe me when I say, hubby and I try not to be rude and usually don't ever complain about food unless it's necessary!) My banh xeo was sooooooo greasy and the dough was RAW. I called the waiter over to nicely tell him that my banh xeo was not done properly and I showed him. He said that's how it's supposed to be, my boyfriend is Cambodian and we have had this dish not only THERE before but homemade and it was NOT supposed to be that way. He left and came back saying that the chef said they used to cook it all the way and make it crispy but that some people complained saying it was too crispy. Again, um what?! I asked if I was gonna be charged for that and they said YES! I told them I wasn't gonna pay for uncooked food and they brought the bill in the end with it charged though we failed to check before we payed, I asked for a refund and they wouldn't get us a refund like are you serious?! So instead of getting my money back or remaking one they CHARGED us for it even though I didn't eat it! I was SO hungry and hubby was already eating his pho (which he didn't like) so I ordered a tofu banh mi (sandwich)... it was super greasy, and PLAIN! I left there hangry. Never EVER going there again. I felt sick to my stomach right after the bite of uncooked banh xeo and from the banh mi. SMH. So disappointed from what it used to be. (P.s. photos I uploaded were from the first review when things were always much better) Original review: I absolutely LOVE this place! Always good customer service and delicious food and drinks. I've been to a lot of PHO restaurants but this one stands out above all they're not stingy is what they put into their PHO very satisfying.

I was wondering what people have been raving about this spot in the past couple months so I couldn't wait to check it out. I was there and realized that if you show them your review on yelp you'd get a discount for your meal. Kinda cheating but I'd say it's pretty clever of the owner to boost up the business. Wonderful service, friendly staff, new and very clean restaurant. but sorry the food is not there in my opinion. I had oxtail pho and the broth is kinda lacking in flavor and deep fried tofu is too salty. To each his own! Since my last review, we've dined in a few more times. Tonight, an employee who was coughing and obviously sick was on deck - felt bad for her but more so I was concerned with my family's health from the exposure. Sure, everyone is sick during this season and sick people probably dine in there for some pho but...uh, no thanks we'll pass on the side of germs. There was no music playing and it was around 7pm that we were there, so not like closing time or anything for it to be so quiet. I *still* love the lighting, decor, and the fish tank. Still love the food, I had a Small #21 brisket and meatballs - meat portion was good. Came here for the first time the other day and we loved it. The staff was super friendly and provided great service. We ordered the chicken and steak phó and a couple of spring rolls all of which were fresh and delicious. The broth for each type of phó was so flavorful on their own and even though we ordered the large bowls expecting leftovers, we ended up eating the whole thing because it was so good.
