Cherise was our server. Excellent service!

We were in town visiting some friends and they took us here, Hops n Drops. The second we walked into the door they were welcoming. We were seated quickly and our server approached. She was VERY nice and attentive. She was very personable and down to earth. She always made sure we had what we needed. If the manager is reading this review, give Cherise a raise! Food was delicious. Loved the Mac n cheese!

This is a good Hops and Drops location. The food met my expectations and the service was good.

    4PC-FISH & CHIPS

Tonight was my first experience at Hops n Drops. There were pros and cons to my meal, but I still want to go back and try other items on the menu. I love a restaurant that has a wide variety of things to choose from. Some standard classics and other more creative creations. We started off with the tempura zucchini, which was amazing. This had to be the best restaurant fried zucchini I have ever had. The tempura batter was light and crispy and the pieces of zucchini was nice and thiccc (with 3 c's). The size of them allowed the zucchini to be cooked but not mushy. Dipped in ranch, is a great choice for appetizer. I also want to add that I had a huckleberry lemonade. The lemonade are flavored with real fruit and it was delicious. Now I need to mention the negative part of the meal. I love fish. Seafood is one of my favorite things so I opted to try their cod and chips. I often try fish and chips in various restaurants to see who serves the best ones. Unfortunately, the fish and chips here were lacking. Presentation was amazing. The plate hit the table and the pieces of fish looked nice and big. But, as I bit into the first piece of Cod, I realized it was mostly breading. The batter was thick and some bites were fishless. As I broke into all of the pieces, I noticed that the fish to breading ratio was off in every piece. I'm a sucker for a nice flaky piece of fish with a light batter. This was not that. The manager visited the table after he was told of my displeasure and he was really nice and understanding. They made corrections to our Bill and I appreciate their accommodations. He also offered me additional items, but I was full on fried zucchini. Lol. So he gave me my huckleberry lemonade on the house. Although we had a slight hiccup in our order, overall the experience was good and I want to go back and try more. The Smashburger was a basic classic and their house. Hazy IPA was good (so I was told). Surprisingly at the end of our meal, we realize we were sitting close to other people we knew. The man said he had the buffalo chicken sliders and he highly recommended them. I really wanna try the cream cheese jalapeño burger next. Even though my fish and chips, miss the mark, don't shy away from visiting this spot. We were there around 5:30 and by 6 the restaurant was filling up. It felt like a good meeting place for visiting, drinks and food.

Chicken fried steak, eggs and smash potatoes.

We came in for breakfast and had the chicken fried steak, eggs and potatoes. It was delicious! Server was attentive and came back several times to make sure we didn't need anything else. The ambiance was great too.

    Split the bbq wrap!

Our neighborhood all around family friendly, dog friendly go to. The food is always great. I get the bbq chicken wrap with the buffalo sauce and the tots. The tots are the best! Service is speedy and friendly. What else can I say? It's the hoppiest droppiest good time.

Nachos with lots of toppings, just not much cheese.

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

However, Luna does offer a lot of things for this price. You have a pleasant neighborhood restaurant vibe, with friendly attentive service and excellent, healthy food sourced from good places. As with anything in Spokane, you will see folks in very casual attire, but this is also a place where you can dress up. When we went, there were several tables of women friends (all ages), many family groups (without young kids or with well-behaved kids), and older couples. I was in the mood for salmon and they did a great version. It should be though for just under $50. It was served with black rice (good) and roasted carrots (good) and a carrot puree (really good but not enough on the plate). My dining companion got the scallops, and they were even more expensive than the salmon. $48 for TWO scallops. Ok, they are large, and well-cooked, and came with a lovely vegetable mix and couscous, but that's a lot of $ for Spokane. We are from CA and that's even a shocker for us. Dessert: they had recently added a banana pudding, which was good. It replaced a chocolate dessert--and that was a bad move because there is no intense chocolate on the menu. We also tried the coconut cake with lemon curd. There was not enough curd; it was barely a tang. The cake itself was a little dry. It is served with house-made ice cream, which balances the dryness but the cake should be good on its own. Apparently, this is their most popular dessert. I am a chocolate-first person. I like coconut. I like good vanilla. I really like lemon curd and a sweet-sour pairing. For me, this item felll short.

That's probably the highlight of the whole experience. I started with the Cheshire Cat mocktail, which was a bit oversweet for me. For main course, I had sea bass for $48 (pan-seared fish served with onion-potato gnocchi, charred asparagus, mushrooms, and asparagus coulis). It was decent, but the portion felt small for the price. Salmon rillette ended up being the best dish! It was rich, savoury, and delicious when paired with pickled onions (the bread was slightly burnt - I hated it). Ended the meal with a vanilla gelato dessert - just okay, not too wow. The restaurant was so packed and seemed understaffed, so service took forever. I left feeling a bit disappointed, especially after looking forward to it so much

The food was absolutely fantastic. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, with a soft, fresh bun that held everything together beautifully. Every bite was delicious. The sweet potato fries stood out as some of the best I've had--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. The ranch was thick, creamy, and so good I ended up dipping everything in it. Portions were generous, the food came out hot, and there wasn't a single thing on the plate I didn't enjoy. It was one of those meals where you're already thinking about what you'll order next time before you've even left.
