Basic Cheeseburger w/yummy fries!
Conni M.

Friendly welcome and the bartender brought our water and menus right away. Nice menu but since it was a late lunch, we shared a cheeseburger and fries w/tartar sauce. Burger was very good - so different from fast food. And the fries were scrumptious. Golden! Looks like a neighborhood fun spot!

Walking in, the smell from the kitchen hits you first. The whole area is clean and welcoming. Now let's talk about the food - WOW! The burgers are huge, the pizzas have a good amount is toppings and they don't skimp on any of the ingredients. The service was quick, with a smile, and very attentive staff. We will DEFINITELY be coming back again!!!

I drove up here hoping to have a great experience like so many have had. We love supporting new and local restaurants so this was on the list. Unfortunately, we did not have the outstanding experience we had hoped for. We started out with cheese curds for an appetizer and while they were good, they were very, very greasy. The ranch dip that was brought out with them was very good though. My wife ordered the steak bite appetizer for dinner and I had the steak sandwich. The bites were just soaked in grease, leaving a puddle at the bottom of the tray, and it was nearly 50% fat. The sandwich was pretty decent, with the A1aioli being very good. Again, the meat and onions were saturated in grease. Service was good and friendly as reported by just about everyone. We really wish it had been a better experience, and maybe it was just an off night.

We are back again... So glad the level 3 evacuation was lifted where they are located so we could come get some amazing food. As always the food was delicious and super nice people. We are so thankful for this restaurant in our area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Mary and I stopped in here tonight for the first time for dinner. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated. This is a new business, and everything is clean and bright. I had the steak sandwich, pan seared and sliced rib eye steak, smokey A1 aioli, mozzarella cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms on a hoagie roll; they asked how I wanted my steak cooked, I asked for medium rare and that is how it was on the sandwich, very good steak, the roll was fresh and soft, I could taste the grilled onions, there was lots of cheese, and the sauce was good. This was a delicious sandwich. I had the house salad option, all the greens and veggies were fresh, but a standard salad. Mary had the Backroads burger, which was cooked exactly as she requested it, delicious; the side of pea salad was very good. You should get in here and give this place a try.

Newly opened in Chattaroy!! @ do zt n Solid 4.25 but I'm for sure rounding up for location. Service: currently staffed by the owners. Which is great cause you can ask all your questions and for some I guess it means overhearing opinions and information (gotta love small towns) Price: Fair - not Highway robbery and not bargain basement. Burgers range from 12-16 and steak for 30. We ordered beer/cider for 7 a piece. I do appreciate that they have children priced drinks rather than charging my 32 lb 4 year old for the same price drink as a full grown adult. Ambience: Country clean/ throwback. It's clean and the black n white with antlers is a great nod to the area .... The vintage arcade games from my youth are a fun distraction for all. Food: Solid and lg portions. I ordered Swiss burger (bunless) with pea salad my husband ordered steak sandwich. His comment (oh that's real steak!). We inquired about gluten intolerance and they were quick to verify with distributors (def went above and beyond) the pea salad was my fave part (owners recipe). Did I mention the portions were perfect?!?! They have tons of pizza on the menu as well but we didn't order that yet. Will def be back and can't wait to see this place grow and solidify their spot in our community!

Best Sandwich Shack - Pop's Brownie

I don't say this lightly: this might be **the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had in my life**…read more From the moment it came out, you could smell the sizzling steak and melted cheese before even taking the first bite. The bread was perfectly toasted on the outside but still soft and pillowy inside, holding everything together without falling apart. The steak was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, chopped just right so every bite had the perfect balance of meat, cheese, and bread. And the cheese... perfectly melted into the steak so it coated every bite instead of just sitting on top. That first bite was one of those moments where you pause for a second because it's just *that good*. By the halfway point I was already thinking about when I could come back for another one. I love "Mom" who is always friendly and fun to talk to while waiting. Please keep in mind each sandwich is made to order so please anticipate a little wait BUT WORTH EVERY minute of it. If you're a Philly cheesesteak fan, this place is absolutely worth the trip. Bold statement, but this sandwich sets the bar.

4.16.26: First time here and came for lunch right as they opened. My roommate is a Philly cheese…read moresteak lover and after some quick research, I found this place nearby. Of course, he went with the classic cheese steak to see what their original was like before delving into the other specialty ones they offer. I ordered the Dirty Hippie, which has no meat--double portions of both mushrooms and grilled onions, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and ranch on a fresh baked roll. For my sweet tooth, I also got a "Pop's brownie." The Dirty Hippie to me tasted pretty much like a cheese steak, but with no meat. So, they did do a good job of mimicking a real cheese steak. It was super hot, cheese was melted, and definitely noticed the double portion of veggies. The grilled onions had a good taste, however, they were really long and stringy, which reminded me of string spaghetti lol. Sandwich can get a little messy, prepare yourself with some napkins, and don't let it sit or it'll get soggy from the juices. My roommate thought his cheese steak was average, not bad but not the best he's ever had either. Pop's brownie was chocolatey and moist and a great way to end a flavorful lunch. The shack is located in a convenient spot and the lot has ample parking. Service was great. The woman helping us was friendly and even gave me a frequent buyer punch card since I told her it was my first time there. Fyi, Monday's are double punch days! I'm a cash-type of person anyway, but bring cash if you don't want to be charged $1 to use your card.

When we first moved to this area a few years ago, Joe's was our go to after a day swimming and…read morecatching sun out on City Beach. It's roughly walking distance from the beach (maybe a brisk quarter mile or so from the sand), and is THE best kept secret in downtown Sandpoint. This place defines "hole in the wall" restaurant, and even if you're on foot, if you blink at the wrong moment, you'd likely miss it. Don't do that. This place is excellent. I've never been to Philadelphia, so I can't say with any accuracy or certainty how Joe's sandwiches hold up to the real deals, but I will say that the sandwiches and their burgers are indeed the Real Deal. Their sandwiches come in 8" and 12" lengths and burgers from 1-2 quarter pound patties. They have a fairly standard soda fountain equipped with Pepsi product, a few bottled beverages, and a mindblowing milk shake menu. A few years ago they even offered a buffalo sauce flavored milk shake. Full stop. Anyway, I can attest that their huckleberry shake and Hershey's chocolate malt are out of this world awesome. My wife and I went here for date night last night, our first time in in quite some time. Service was very friendly and attentive, and everything was made to order. Whereas I've usually gone for the Philly cheese steak or French dip, this time I did the bacon burger with pepper jack (they have a good variety of cheese available, I should add) and left with zero regrets. My wife did the standard cheeseburger with everything and we split a side of onion rings which were ambrosial (delicious, amazing, what have you). Parking can be a little iffy, but there are some spots on the street right out front. Worst case scenario, they're a very short walking distance from the big (free) public parking lot on Church street, which is where I parked. You might even need the walk if you're eating there. Inside seating is limited, but clean and comfortable. The AC wasn't the greatest, and I can't imagine the heat from the kitchen does the interior temps any favors. My wife and I rarely if ever get a date night anymore, so the whole thing was a great treat, and something I'd gladly do again anytime. Highly, highly recommended.
