Never been here. Stopped in while traveling and surprised at how dead it was at 7 on a Saturday night. But the staff was extremely helpful and on their game. Our server Matthew was amazing. A rare gem of someone who knows how to be a good server. Upon hearing we had never been to a Hop jacks he gave some suggestions for things they are well known for. We had the flavored lemonades (yummy), the hand breaded mozz sticks (nice), the mushroom burger and fiesta Mac n cheese(both delish) flavorful, satisfying , and nicely prepared. Decent food and prices make this a favorite place to drink and eat at. Happy hour early and late here. The wings....yummy. Steak salad pretty good too. Service has always been excellent. Super good service! The menu is quite large, from sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers, etc there is something for everyone. I had a jalapeno burger as the wait staff said they hand press the meat.. came out piping hot and the quality of meat was good. One of the best burgers I've had in a while. Came with seasoned fries, but I thought they were way too salted/seasoned. Super cold beer on tap too. updated I just went back last night, tried the western burger. It was good! The service is very disappointing. A table full of friends all having meals together and the server dropped an entire glass of water on my wife for lunch. Accidents happen, I get it. But it certainly soured her lunch date as she sat waiting and then eating with cold, wet clothes. At the end of their meals she was brought the bill with a casual "I'll be your cashier." To not be offered her meal on the house or a discount or free return visit or even some gesture of customer service is really the unforgivable part of this experience. I paid the bill but will not return. If I have to ask for a common sense response to this kind of thing you don't deserve my business. As for the food it's fine as far as beige, heavily processed food goes. It's basically Red Robin fare so not worth an out of the way trip. read more

The service was fantastic. The wait time for food was very reasonable. The food was meh. I had potato chip nachos. I wanted a mix of cheddar and blue cheese. I got half with blue cheese and the other half cheddar. The cheese was over cooked which made it hard and a bit chewy. The toppings were skimpy. For $10.50, I expected something more substantial. If my boyfriend are I are in the mood for excellent service and delicious food, this is where we always end up! If I have a special request changing a dish up a little bit (like if I want diced tomatoes on the flatbread instead of big slices) they seriously have no problem with it!! That may seem silly but a lot of places these days make it seem impossible to make small requests like that. We love Hop Jacks our first experience was in Olympia. I love their Hawaiian Sriracha Shrimp absolutely to die for, also a fan of Southwest Taquitos, and Flatbreads. They use to make Buffalo flatbread I ordered all the time but they switched it. I still like the other ones too but that buffalo was my fav! We like going during happy hour! Three stars is a generous review for Hop Jacks today. If it wasn't for the ice cold beer and delicious garlic fries two stars would have been enough. Street tacos meat/fish at happy hour were luke warm and plain. Now our waiter was very energetic at first but after delivery of our food, he never said another word until he brought the check. We visited this past Saturday just around 2pm or so. The place was half full and we asked for a booth in the dining room. It's a nice layout that you can see across the whole place without dividers and walls an such - makes it look bigger than it is. First, the service. It was possibly the best i have had in a long long while. Our server, Shannon, was excellent. Asked if we had been in before - which we had not - so she told us about the restaurant a bit, what they were known for and then talked about specials. It was a nice brief, yet informative introduction. Drinks - I ordered the Almond Joy Martini that comes in it's own little shaker and then is poured into a glass made of ice - keeping it perfectly frosty for the whole life of the drink - which wasn't long in this case! They have several options for this plus shots and mojitos and such. They have 14 beers on tap including two that are made specially for them. Food - I tried a Western Burger that comes with frizzled onions, bacon, cheese and their tangy bbq sauce and hop jack spread. I asked for fries and was offered and "upgrade" to garlic fries. Heck yeah! After the fries are fried, they toss them into a pan and quickly sauté with the garlic - very good. For dipping, they offered ranch or their special ranch sauce. Lots of choice and it was A+. My dining partner got their special appetizer platter for $10 that had street tacos, taquitos and cheese nachos - all fresh and hot and yummy. She also good advantage of their Corona special for $3 a bottle - which came with a nice frosty glass. Since I was having such a good time, I ended my lunch with their special deal on a margarita on the rocks. It was quite possibly the best margarita I have ever had! Next time I will try it as Shannon suggested - with muddled strawberries and jalapeño! Can't wait to go back! read more

Stopped by today around 5. Asked to be seated in the bar, was seated and no one came around for a long while even though there seemed to be tons of workers standing around... a worker came by and looked at me and said someone will be out soon but you need to have your ID out. Then she went and talked with another coworker. Felt like it was odd that she couldn't just let the server ask for my ID and she herself didn't even look at it. Bar tender grabbed us our drink which were good and was very nice. We decided not to eat there because of how annoying the time we waited for anyone to talk with us was and annoyed I was by the lady who was doing nothing but just came over to tell me I needed to have my ID on the table. Oh my gosh sooo delicious!! I wish I had tried it sooner because it was delicious. I had the Roast Chicken Breast with Penne (picture posted) and it was pretty good. The roasted tomatoes tasted a little funny but maybe it's just me since I don't particularly care for tomatoes. The service was incredible, the waiter was very attentive to my dad, sister and I, asking if we had been to Hop Jacks before and like another review said giving a brief explanation of everything and the specials. He came to the table often but not to the extent of being annoying. For an appetizer I shared the goat cheese and artichoke dip which was delicious beyond words like oh my word so so divinely good!! I've been going to Hop and Drops before it changed it's name from Hop Jacks, but even with the name change I still love this place. It's my number 1 restaurant and I can't get enough of it! There are two location in Spokane and both are wonderful! The staff is well trained and always knowledgeable about the dishes as well as friendly. My favorite item to order is their nachos with home made potato chips where I change the blue cheese for cheered. They layer it perfectly and have complimentary flavors all over it: chives, cheese, corn, tomatoes all the stuff! It then comes with their home made garlic ranch that I always get extra of because I like to take some home with me for my left overs (which heat up perfectly in the oven)! Some of the other dishes that I like are their Western berger, Southwest BBQ salad, Chicken noodle soup, and Big Tony's BBQ Mac. They also have 24oz lemonades that come in a large variety of flavors that are FREE refills!! Honestly writing this review has me needing to go back there and try something new just so I can write another review on how amazing that new dish will be! read more

Love everything about Hop Jacks except that the music in the bar is too loud and you can't easily have a conversation in there. Other than that, I bet you can't find a bad meal on the menu. Burgers to sandwiches to salads are all delicious and huge! And I highly recommend the Gummi Bear martini! read more

I've been going to this Hop Jack's for the last four years for happy hour. The drinks are great and so is the food. All of the staff is great and friendly. My favorite bartender/server is Erika. Went last night for the first time with my boyfriend. He was craving a burger and I wanted pasta so we assumed (correctly for once) that this would be the kind of place where the menu would appease us both. It was slow and we sat in the bar area, our waiter came over immediately and explained the "happy hour" deals and was very friendly throughout our stay. I ordered the house margarita which was good but my boyfriend just wanted a PBR which they didn't have. It's cool to have so many local and interesting beers but sometimes nothing hits the spot like a Pabst so I understood his disappointment. He got some fancy lager thing on tap but didn't seem too thrilled with it. The waiter talked him into trying the BBQ chicken quesadillas and I ordered the Mediterranean pasta. He loved his dish but mine was super blah. I don't quite know how a dish made with garlic, feta, onions and kalamata olives can have absolutely no flavor but they did it. On another note that kept our attention most of our stay was a very obvious work- romance playing out at the ticket maker between a waitress and a manager(?). By no means do I consider myself a prude but there was something strangely disturbing about watching the two grabbing asses and making out before fetching food orders. If that's how they behave in front of customers, what on earth are they doing in the back? read more

This use to be one of my favorite regular places to visit but this has changed after a recent visit. $5 for a pint of craft beer in the past was already pushing my threshold. My wife and I were stunned recently when we got our bill to find it was now $5.75 a pint. Ridiculous. Ok they can charge whatever the market will bear, but we'll be sipping water in the future IF we ever go back, because: We get home from our recent visit and notice a 2% "kitchen surcharge" on our bill? Wow really? Too cheap to pay your kitchen staff a decent wage and want to sneakily dump it off on unsuspecting customers? Dont know how we missed that. Just not something we ever thought we'd have to look for. And there's sure no disclosure anywhere about this prior to the customer ordering so that the customer might make an INFORMED decision before ordering. So don't know if we'll go back. We don't care for sneaky business practices. But if we do we'll ask that the surcharge be removed and if they won't, the tip will be adjusted accordingly. read more

I've eaten here twice, and both times I got the mac n cheese with barbecued pork and carmelized onions... It's so delicious I crave it on a regular basis. The prices are a bit high and the portions can be on the small side, but the atmosphere is wonderful and it never feels crowded or loud.
