Our last visit was disappointing. The waitress messed up several orders. We all had to ask for water refills several times. And when she did fill our glasses, only one person got the refill. Wish I discovered this place a while ago - loved it, good food and drinks.. loved our server, didn't get to catch her name though. I loved that my huckleberry lemonade that came in a huge tall glass came with free refills. The battered dill pickles were to die for, loved it.. best in town. Had the BLTA, not crazy about the bread and not enough avocado but still was delicious. I had the garlic fries with it and the minute the plate was set down in front of me, the smell of freshly chopped garlic really hit my nose... I pretty much devoured almost all of it, yummy!! Pregnant right now, so didn't get to try any drinks although I convinced my boyfriend to try the white gummy bear martini for me and he loved it, I can't wait to come back next year and try it myself! :) read more

Breakfast was a real disappointment! We have always enjoyed happy hour at Hop Jacks: good drinks, tasty snacks at a good price and it used to be good service. We tried breakfast this morning...and it fell short from the start to the finish! No one was even at the front desk. We found a table (there were only 2 others in the restaurant at the bar drinking)....we found our own menus. No one seemed to care that we were there to eat! Then...the food was not good. I had an omelette that was "ok" with grilled chicken and grilled onions...but the hash browns were greasy and tasted "odd". My biscuit was so cold I couldn't even melt butter on it! My husband had biscuits and gravy and the gravy was ok....but nothing excellent. We had a pop and a Bloody Mary....and our bill was over $30 for poor food and service! I won't go back for breakfast and now I'm worried about going for Happy Hour! read more

We went there with out of town guests for a family celebration and a waiter accidentally spilled a drink on one of our group. The staff was so horrified they were so apologetic. The manager even covered our dinner. They were so kind and our food and drinks were delicious. They gave us every consideration to make us feel valued as customers. New favourite place to stop in. We were part of a large party (24), and our server was quick, polite, and super efficient. They should clone him. All of the staff were terrific. I indulged in a bacon cheese burger and delighted in the hand-formed patty and generous amount of bacon and cheese. My dining partner had the BLT+A (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado on ciabatta). She was very happy with her sandwich, and we both loved their fries. They crispy, fluffy on the inside and seasoned perfectly. Everyone at our table really enjoyed their meals. Next time, I'm going in for dinner so I can take advantage of a delightful-looking drinks menu. read more

We went for breakfast this morning, they only do breakfast on Saturday and Sundays. It was clean and the staff were all friendly. My husband had a meat lovers breakfast burrito and really liked the flavor it had. He commented several times about how good it was. I had the Eggs Benedict which was good enough, the hash browns were done right and the coffee was filled fast. Hop Jack's recently opened in Spokane so my fiancee and I decided to give it a shot since we live less than 5 minutes from it. I would have to say this place has one of the best happy hours (offered 3-6 and 9-close) that we have ever been to. My fiancee is a big fan of mixed drinks and they have some of the best combinations of those in Spokane. For $5.50 you get a drink that comes with the mixer the bartender used to make it which amounts to 2 or 3 refills. The drinks are served in these awesome ice glasses as well. The beer selection is pretty good but the happy hour prices for beer are not as good as the prices for the other drinks. I believe I paid $4 a glass for my beers. They also offer discounted food during happy hour. We ended up getting a huge plate of garlic fries for $5 but they have apps that start at $3.50 and go up to certain entree style items for around $8. The fries were really good and fresh. We were too full to try anything else this time around. The only thing we didn't enjoy about Hop Jack's was the atmosphere. Since it is a new establishment, there were not too many people there. Hopefully as word spreads more people will come and hang out because the drinks and food here are great. I would definitely rate Hop Jack's 5 stars if there were more people at the time we went. read more

The wait staff was so kind! There was no wait for breakfast on a Saturday when every other place was 30-40 minutes. The food was a bit pricier than expected or necessary, but the portions were well sized. If you don't like crispy bacon then you should pick a different meat. read more

Went for lunch and was disappointed with the size of the steak salad. It had been a few months (maybe closer to 6) since I had last been in and had the salad. It used to be offered in a small and large size. It now comes in one size for $17.75 (!) This salad was small, not much larger than a side salad with some steak thrown on top. I'd say there was 1- 1 1/2 cups lettuce and maaaybe 10 small pieces of steak, which some were grisly and one was all fat. When I've had it in the past, it was very filling, almost too large (I always got the large) but at least I felt like I got my money's worth. Today, I just felt ripped off. I know that with minimum wage going up they were going to raise prices, but didn't realize you would get less for your money too. Now that I know, I won't order it again and wanted to write a review for others to know as well. I should have said something at the time, but didn't think of it in the moment. Twice I have been to this restaurant with a large group and both times have had the same experience. Call and let them know there will be a group...You arrive and find out that another large group is already there and have taken your seats, so there is no room to seat us all together. The group that were in our place had arrived late so that put everyone else behind schedule. The manager told us that the group there would be finished in a short while, but since they had just got their food, I for one knew that was not possible. We left and went to another restaurant across the street...we had a wonderful lunch and great service... Sorry Hop Jacks, I for one will not be back to your establishment. read more

First time here. We wanted to try something different and always drive by it, but never stopped in. Figured we'd give it a shot. She got the pulled pork Mac and Cheese and I got the meatloaf. She enjoyed hers, I tried and thought it was pretty good also. The meatloaf was good but a little salty for my taste. It came with a side of tater tots that were plain. Would've been better with a signature seasoning, cheese on top of them, or spruced up somehow. Price wasn't bad, $40 for 2 dinners and 2 drinks (pop & lemonade). My wife and I stopped in for breakfast and were really pleased. Phenomenal service from being greeted all the way through our meal. I had the breakfast burrito. It was about perfect with fresh veggies and a really good tortilla. Wife had steak and eggs....also done the way she likes it. Really the only drawback was a side of hollandaise that we got was cold. We have been going here since they opened. The beer is COLD and the pub food excellent. But really it's the staff that makes this particular location the best! I was hesitant to suggest this Hop Jack's as a place to meet some friends for Sunday after church breakfast due to the reviews. I'm glad I ignored them! We arrived and were seated immediately and I was able to ask for a table instead of a booth with no attitude from the seater. I splurged on the country fried steak with hash browns and eggs over easy. The overall serving size was good and I didn't leave hungry although a bit more gravy would have been nice. I hate salty sausage gravy and this was seasoned just right. I'm a country fried steak snob and this one was close to being a top contender. It was crispy, seasoned nicely, and okay in size. My wife had a mushroom and three cheese omelet that was so large she ended up taking enough home for supper. Instead of thin sliced mushrooms that disappear when cooked, the mushrooms were whole or at the most halved. Our friends had waffles that were crispy instead of soggy and they were pleased with their scrambled eggs and bacon. Tasha the server was a delight and kept both water and coffee topped off. The food arrived fast and hot and with no mistakes except an extra cup of coffee that I decided sounded good after all. Great place for food and a friendly get together. The staff is very personable, the food is perfect 98% of the time and the atmosphere is nice. You can watch a game on the teli but you don't have to yell and scream to hear your friends. I personally recommend the Black and Bleu Burger with Garlic fries and all their drinks are fantastic as well. I have not only gone out with friends, but brought the husband and three kids as well. I've been here multiple times and I love everything they have to offer. The white gummy bear martini is delicious. My go to food options are the BBQ chicken salad, the potato chip nachos, and boneless chipotle BBQ chicken wings. Everyone is always super friendly and willing to deal with my picky orders. Hit happy hour there today. We were very impressed with the selection and service. Tasha and Kenny were awesome! The home-made chips were wonderful. The flat bread I ordered had goat cheese which I personally am not a huge fan of but if you are you would like it. Tasha offered to bring a different flat bread for free. First time at this restaurant. Wasn't sure what to expect. Had heard good things but always thought it was just a bar. Well I was wrong. There is a nice bar area but it is also a great restaurant. I chose a bratwurst with onions and sauerkraut. It was from their Oktoberfest special. It was wonderful. Great cook on the onions and wonderful flavor from the bratwurst. We had an appetizer with potatoes and a beer cheese with bacon on them. Omgosh that was spectacular. This is a place I will definitely come back to and I will recommend it to family and friends. We were in Spokane visiting family for the week and took a group of 14 over to Hop Jacks. Chris, our server, was very accommodating. He handled the whole group with a smile and didn't miss a beat. Service was horrible. It took a very long time to get anything... appetizers, beer, and main course. (And my order was not even correct) On top of that the beer was not "34 degrees" as advertised. There was a near brawl in the bar and management handled the situation horribly, which resulted in the "good guy" leaving on his own will and the over served, potty-mouthed patron staying. The menu here is different than most restaurants I have been to. They have quite a few options but their bbq burger is fantastic slathered in bbq sauce and fried onions that makes for a huge sloppy mess but fills your stomach with joy. I also really enjoy their drink selection. The one thing I hate about going out for drinks is paying for a bottle of booze while only getting two shots worth of actual alcohol... But at hop jacks you get your money's worth without your drink tasting like rubbing alcohol. A favorite for me and my group of friends. read more

Had a horrible breakfast experience today at the Hops n Drops in north Spokane. The server messed up two orders out of six. One person never got what he ordered and settled for something else. My husband's order somehow was never made, so he didn't get his food until 10 minutes after the rest of us got ours. They should do away with the handheld electronic thing the server enters your order into, and just use paper and pen. We heard a loud argument coming from the kitchen, complete with dishes being dropped or thrown three times. When our server returned, she looked like she had been crying. We were never offered water or asked if we wanted another beverage when our Bloody Marys were gone. During this time, there were a few people in the dining room and only two other people in the bar area where we were sitting. We got there at 10:30, so it wasn't at the height of breakfast or lunch time. I will say that those of us who got our correct order did like our food. We used to like meeting our friends here for weekend breakfast, but we have other options. We won't be back for a long time. read more

We have eaten at this location multiple times with satisfactory service and food, but this morning was abhorrent! There were 6 of us and we started breakfast with some Bloody Mary's that were served in a timely manner, but that is where the fun stopped. The waitress finally took our orders, but struggled a bit in getting them correct. After a while, 3 of the orders arrived at the table, with only 2 of them correct and one order wasn't anything that any of us asked for. She took back the phantom order, and that was the last we saw of her for 10 minutes. Then 2 more orders arrived, but mine was only half of the food, minus the eggs and the biscuit. Another 5 minutes passed and the rest of my food and the other orders arrived. The first served friends were done with their food before the rest of us got ours. The food was marginal and the restaurant had approximately 15 customers. During our stay, 2 loud crashes of dishes were heard in the kitchen. When we expressed our displeasure, but the waitress was ambivalent. We had to move our empty dishes to a vacant table ourselves just to have some room. We will not be returning. read more
