About a year later I visited the Lakeland Hills location and was disappointed with almost everything I got. The food seemed subpar, greasy and somewhat flavorless. I go here all the time for happy hour the food is good and the servers a fairly nice. I went here on a Wednesday afternoon, not that many people were here me and my friend. I went and it took 20 plus minutes just to seat me. The tables were fairly empty accept for the fact that they haven't been cleared yet. The lady sat me and my Freiburg at a booth that was dirty but she cleaned the top before we seated. I sat down and the booth had food all over and it wasn't clean. I like the food but the overall cleanliness and wait time is ridiculous. I might have to find a new hop jacks to go to. read more

This was the first restaurant that my daughter and I visited after the quarantine... we were excited to get out and enjoy someone else cooking and have a few drinks. This was my first time at this establishment, and I have to say that it was wonderful! Great food and perfect service! Our server (I think her name may have been Steph) was exceptional and attentive, and really took care of us... even though she wore the required mask, you can tell she enjoyed her job as I could tell she was smiling! I am in LOVE with hop jacks! I like this one better than the one in Lynwood because of the staff and hosts. The hosts always hold the door open for you, which is small but such a gracious thing to do. Their burgers will keep you full for the entire day- so good! read more

As usual, hop jacks comes through. I was actually surprised to get a table so quickly on Friday night! Only maybe 10 minute wait. Drinks were brought out quickly- gotta love the icy cold beer! Like it says on the menu- look at the tap- it's covered in ice! Their IPA is my favorite. We all ordered burgers, and they were delicious. I love, love, love HJ's (the restaurant) in Lakeland! The servers Boyd, Dolly, Cheyenne, Erin, & the manager with dark curly hair (I forgot his name) are amazing! They always go above and beyond with friendliness and excellent customer service. I've tried about 15 menu items - the Shrimp Po Boy is fantastically delicious and probably my favorite! The sandwich is stuffed with tempura battered crispy shrimp- they do not hold back on the shrimp! When it's placed on the sandwich, the sliced cheese is slightly melted on top of it so it holds all the shrimp in place so they are not falling out of the sandwich. The cheese does not take away from the crispiness at all! The ciabatta bun it's served on is hard enough to hold the sandwich together, yet soft enough to take the perfect bite. The bun is crisped to perfection and slathered with their house made chipotle mayo giving the sandwich a smoky, spicy kick. Lettuce and tomato round out the sandwich - the cold, crisp lettuce and umami of the tomato are a wonderful contrast to the chipotle mayo. I highly recommend this with the house chips or onion rings with a side of chipotle mayo. Mmmmmmm! read more

I've been to ""Hops'n'Drops"" (I'll always call it Hopjacks ;)) about a million times and I don't think I've ever been disappointed. The food is DELICIOUS, every time. I've had so many different things from the menu and I've never had something I didn't like. The drinks, both with and without alcohol, are also very very good. I love their flavored lemonades and the sour patch drops! The homemade chips are one of my faves. The service here has always been great - servers make sure to check on you and ask if you need anything more than any restaurant I've ever been to. I've gone during peak hours on Saturday nights and still had quick service. The only thing I don't like are the prices - I do admit, food and drinks are pretty expensive, but it's my favorite choice for an "every once in a while" meal. read more

I have always given Hop Jack's Auburn a 5 star review, but I am forced to downgrade them a point after tonight. I t was cold, rainy and miserable outside. You expect to walk into a pub restaurant and be nice and cozy. It seemed very chilly to me. I had to wear my jacket for the whole meal. I looked around outside the bar area where we were sitting, and there were many families with little kids. Parents like to keep their little kids warm and cozy. I could not help but think that some of the little tots were cold. I am hoping that management is not trying to save money by turning down the heat. I always urged Hop Jack's to get some kind of fire feature. My favorite is the cod fish and chips. Unfortunately, the price has gone up to $16. That means that if you have fish and chips for two, an hors d'oeuvre and a couple of beers, plus tax and tip, you are looking at $60 plus for 2 people. The fish was exquisite as usual, but something has happened to the french-fries. They used to put some seasoning on them that made them exceptional. The seasoning has disappeared and they are now "just french-fries," like you get at "Joe's diner", or the frozen section at Freddy's. There were many servers moving around, but it seemed that my beer glass was empty for a long time. Usually they are Johnny-on-the-spot filling your glass. I finally had to flag down a person clearing tables and ask for our waitress. She was there right away, and to her plus, she warned us that happy-hour was expiring in ten minutes. She took our order for a second round, but it did not arrive in a timely manner. read more

Sat at the bar, waited 15 min before someone even said hi to me, she then promptly went back to her conversation with another server... just before I got up and left....I was finally greeted with an aggressive "what do you want" I asked for a coors and and shot of bullit. Garbage seasoning and the inside was still pink (but fuck me right?) I had no intention of telling the bar tender because she already didn't seem to care about anything other then her regulars and her narcissistic ways. This establishment needs to shut down and re train.... Fucking shit show. 73 bucks for two beers two shots and under cooked chicken/fries ..... We don't normally come to this hop jacks because we live in Bonney lake. We took the back way home and stopped here because it was closer. The food was just as good as the hop jacks by our house. The service however, was not. Our waitress was decent enough, but ended up forgetting my food. The blonde gal managing has an attitude problem & should be fired. Went for bfst. 6/2. Had not been in a while, had issues last time w food quality. This time service was very slow and when french toast came it was cold could not melt butter. I normally go to the maple valley location but decided to give this one a try! The service was amazing as usual, the restaurant was super clean and overall had a good experience. However, not even 2 hours after eating here my friend and I both started feeling really sick. And today I went to the doctors because my stomach was really hurting to find out I had food poisoning. The food was great but the real reason for the five stars is the service and management. We ordered an appetizer but did not receive it. We told another waitress to take it off and not to worry about it. The manager then came over and gave us a gift card and apologized for the issue. What can I say ... the service was good - perhaps that waiter a little overeager. We got water right away but with the suggested breakfast drink it took a long time to get my Bloody Mary which I found a little bitter .. it had pepper infused vodka. My eggs benedict was very tasty. I like the taste of the ham as it was a real ham not processed ham. The sauce was tasty but a little bit lumpy looking although it didn't go down on the tongue as Lumpy I think the presentation was off with the color of the plate being in reddish brown lighter color but I think that might be their signature dish color. my daughter seemed to enjoy her country scramble with lots of cheese, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. She really enjoyed the strawberry freezer jam and said it reminded her of our friends home-made yummy! read more

I have been to Hop Jack's twice...once for lunch and once for breakfast. When I was home during Thanksgiving break I went to Hop Jack's for lunch with my mom before I needed to head to the airport. I ordered a burger, and got it without the bun and got the tater tots with it. I don't know why, but if tater tots are an option, I *have* to get them. The burger was pretty good...I don't think that it is like Red Robin because I could tell that this was a hand formed patty and it was seasoned differently from what Red Robin does. The second time I went to Hop Jack's was last Saturday for breakfast with my best friend who was also home for Christmas break from school. We both ordered the French Toast and really enjoyed it. Both times the service has been pretty good and next time I am home, I will probably go back especially since it is right by my mom's house in Lakeland!! Hop Jack's apparently these guys are people who harvested hops so they're like lumberjacks only for hops.....somehow that sounds less manly but whatever. Hop Jacks reminds me of what you would expect from a Chili's, Applebees, Fridays, etc. I ordered their award winning peanut butter and bacon burger. It sounded disturbing enough that I just had to try it. Essentially it's your standard cheeseburger and it is liberally slathered with peanut butter/mayo concoction. Although it does sound pretty gross, I was surprised that it was actually quite tasty and the mayo to peanut butter ratio was much higher on the peanut butter side. The tater tots were awesome and I'm sure this would be a decent place to get a beer after work and some food. read more

This place is super low-quality. The wings are soggy (the boneless wings are slices of chicken...not in wing form at all), the chicken is tough and tastes sweaty. The BBQ quesadilla is ok...but you could make a better one at home for half the price. Save your money and order pizza. read more

My girlfriend and I came in the second opening day around 8:30 pm. We sat around in the lobby waiting for somebody to help us, and even though one of the servers made direct eye contact with me, no help was given. We sat around for about 9 minutes with no help before we sat ourselves at the bar. The bartender was quick to help us as soon as we sat down, but he was so frantic I couldn't even tell you his name. We ordered the blue cheese potato chip nachos, I had the "Hop Jacks IPA" and my girl had an original lemon drop. Everything was decent, the chips seem a little spendy for bar food though. And my beer was so cold there was ice forming underneath the foam. I'l will most likely return to edit this post after my next experience but the 2 star description says it best. "Meh. This is our go to place. We love the friendly caring staff. They are genuinely helpful. We think the food is excellent! Love the monthly specials to try something new! The avocado chicken is very good! Shrimp and chips and fish and chips are great! On the weekend they serve excellent breakfasts. We are always met with a smile and staff does their best to greet you at the door. Oh. And dessert is heavenly. Love their cheesecake with huckleberries and the chocolate cake is the best. We have made this a regular stop. Usually to celebrate our Fridays after work, and kick off the weekend. All the wait staff have great personalities, always welcoming and friendly. We are always seated quickly, and served promptly, even when busy. They have great Happy Hour deals. Their happy hours are from 2-6 PM, and 9-close every day. Drafts are cheaper, cocktails and wine priced nicely, and several great appetizers are reduced. Their own beers, by the way, are all brewed by Northwest Brewery, just down the road, and are great tasting. Their beer taps are also encased in ice, so all their beer is poured at 34 degrees. Their food is pretty good as well. We have enjoyed everything we ordered. I can't really think of a downside for this place, other than it can get a little packed on Friday or Saturday nights, so get there before the crowd. We'll see you there! read more
