Great food. AMAZING STAFF! This hidden gem is something to talk about. Good deli sandwiches with a bit of flare. The staff is amazing. They are helpful and chatty. They can help you modify your orders to match your dietary needs etc. just a warm and inviting place. Small, so grab it to go, but so worth it. My mouth is watering all over again just thinking about.

The Aussie sandwich at Pickled Pepper was incredible! Perfectly chopped grilled chicken with bacon, cheese, fresh veggies, a hint of honey mustard and a delicious garlic sauce. A must-try! PapaFoodie

    Toasted Italian Sub

If you've ever been pregnant, you know that sandwiches/subs just HIT DIFFERENT. Not sure of the reason, but sandwiches have been a huge craving of mine through all three of my pregnancies. I was wanting an Italian sandwich one day and wanted to try somewhere new, so I ordered delivery from The Pickled Pepper. They have a great assortment of options. Paninis, subs, toasted subs, a "famous" french dip, and more lunch options too. Be sure to check out their website, because they run daily specials! I got the toasted Italian sub along with a side of their daily special, a creamy Italian pasta salad. The sub comes with Black Forest Ham, Genoa Salami, Provolone Cheese, Black Olives, Sweet Onion, Pepperoncinis, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo. Drizzled with their own Homemade Italian Dressing (copied from website). I nixed the tomatoes (not a fan) but everything else great. The sandwich was soooo good and satisfied my craving instantly! Loved the italian dressing on it, too. The creamy Italian pasta salad was decent, but nothing to write home about. I wish it had more of a zing to it, because it was just a really light flavor. Loved the fresh veggies in it though - the texture was nice and it made it really refreshing. Definitely a good find! I'll for sure order from here again when a sandwich craving strikes.

The Pickled Pepper has very simple, healthful, and yet comforting and filling food that you can somehow tell has a lot of care put into it! Much prefer this place to any Panera Bread or Starbucks lunches. My go-to is the turkey basil panini, which stays crispy even when ordered with delivery.

Mystery tasty turkey, Swiss?, tomato, chicken, sandwich panini with tasty sauce

Tried it for the first time based on an acquaintance's recommendation, who eats in this area often (it was her first in the list of places). I ordered the roast beef Schmity lunch special.. and didn't realize until the second half that I had the wrong sandwich, but this one was delicious.. the sauce/condiments was so tasty! I don't know what this is called but can recommend this sandwich! There isn't really seating inside, it's a small shop where you order and step out.

There's ample parking that's paved or across the street on gravel. The food looked amazing in photos, but I wouldn't say it was as good as it looked or sounded in descriptions. It was generally very tasty, but everything felt like it was missing just one ingredient that would make it better. It could be that I'm just more used to ethnic flavors and these were just not quite hitting the mark. For example the stratciatella was good, but if the whipped ricotta was a little more fluffy and there was some extra black pepper or lemon added it would have been perfect. The pork belly was a little dry and not worth the price for just three pieces. The thick cut truffle fries were very good however. We also tried the bucatini and it was nice but still I wanted a little more kick. It has spice but just needs a little something to punch it up. The steak sandwich two of the three of us sharing a meal loved and I'd say was the best thing we ate. The service staff was kind, considerate and gave us time and made sure our drinks were filled. There are still a lot of dishes I'd like to try and since I loved the area, it would be worth coming back again.

We joined the online waitlist at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. While we were seated fairly quickly, we still had to wait in a long line just to speak with the host to check in. The restaurant was completely packed well past 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we sat down. It took forever just to place our order. Our chowder arrived about 10 minutes later, but it tasted like it came straight out of a can, and the accompanying dinner roll was completely flavorless and factory-made. Since we were hungry, we ate it quickly anyway. It took 45 minutes for our entrees--a Country Fried Steak and a California Benedict--to arrive. By 3:00 PM, we were famished, which made it all the more disappointing to discover our food was cold, soggy, and hard. The cubed fries, scrambled eggs, and English muffin tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being brought to our table. For a restaurant advertising a "farm-to-table" concept, the eggs, salad, croutons, and muffin felt entirely mass-produced. The service was equally disappointing; our server never returned to refill our water. While the atmosphere is nice and the space is large enough to fit over 100 people, they seemed severely understaffed. The host stand was backed up, it took too long to order, and the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. For $23 a plate, I expect significantly better quality in both the food and the service.

West Pioneer Grill was walking distance and one that we haven't visited before, so we decided to give it a try. We clearly made it before the market rush because there were a good amount of tables open and we were seated immediately - 10 minutes later the place was nearly full. Definitely casual vibes here but that's what we were looking for. Our server, Jesse (easy to remember because that's my husband's name LOL), was great and we didn't have too long of a wait for anything. Limited selection of alcoholic beverages. I got a bottled Space Dust and my husband is a cider drinker but they didn't have any, so he also went with a beer. They do also have some liquor options. If you're a milkshake fanatic, we saw a milkshake menu that had to have at least 30 options on it! We weren't starving so we decided to split the fish tacos and it was the perfect amount. The tacos were good and were a generous size. We loved the sauce that they had it topped with, definitely pulled the entire dish together. Our son got some chicken strips and naturally, he loved them. We tried them and they were good - plus the ranch they have is BOMB. Very dilly, and really good! I think the only negative thing I really noticed was that the restaurant didn't feel the cleanest (observations from bathroom + flies) but could just have been an off day. Glad we checked out this spot and would definitely come back in the future for their extensive milkshake options!
