Absolutely love this place. If you're here for a convention center event: skip the food and come here instead. A ton of beers and cider(!) on tap. And the corn riblets rock! I will forgive the place for tapping out on the cider- whatever this blood and honey thing the bartender gave me is killer.the hot Texas sandwich is so good I forgot to take a pic before I ate it.
Day 2 of my Volleyball weekend and I wanted something GOOD after our 12 hr day at the Convention Center. Being that there are so many good eateries in the area, I did my usual search on Yelp and ended up at Hops & Hens. Based on the reviews, Hops & Hens would provide a good meal at a good cost. Heading out of the convention center we walked to Hops & Hens. The location is super cute and sits at the edge of the Omni Plaza Hotel center. The location has indoor and outdoor seating and has an order then sit setup. Walking in, there is ample space and picnic style tables. There are a few high tops towards the back, and the outside sitting area even has a space where you can engage in a game of cornhole. The vibe itself is a traditional American theme with a bar, a few televisions, and the self-serve condiment station. Simple. Cute. To the Point. Looking at the menu I was excited to see a variety of chicken options. The art of creativity with chicken still exists at Hops & Hens and I was ready to partake in what was being offered. LoL! I decided on a Side Caesar with The Texan. The Texan - $12.00 BBQ sauce, bacon, crispy onions The Chicken Tender base of The Texan provides the perfect canvas for the BBQ sauce, bacon, and crispy onions. Though simple by design, this sandwich is the furthest from simple. BBQ sauce - adds a tang that is sweet but not too sweet. Mild but not boring. And flavorful without being overpowering. Bacon - was crispy and sits well between the tenders and the BBQ Sauce. As the Tenders are crispy perfection, the crispness of the bacon adds a texture variation as the natural pork texture has a rougher feel compared to that of chicken. The natural pork-ness of the bacon further enhances the flavor of the chicken as it blends uniformly with the juice of the chicken. Ummmmmm! Crispy Onions - the secret warrior. The Crispy Onions give you a nice layer of salt, crunch, and crumble. They bring all the flavors together and marry the sandwich to be the mouthwatering, taste bud pleasing, hit of goodness that is needed. The Texan is truly a 10 out of 10 and I am ready for another one. LoL!!!! Get you one!!!!
This is a fast carpal chicken place operated, at Leary in part, by Omni Hotel. It's just outside the hotel. It has a country vibe, with a good sized patio that has direct bar access. The bar has a huge beer selection but looks like they can make cocktails too. Their food menu is basically tenders...fried, grilled, on a sandwich. Sauced or not. Several dips available if you don't want sauce. They also have a couple other items like salad...and a few different sides. But again a small menu, Odd they have tots but no fries. Overall a basic spot...they wouldn't survive if not subsidized & supported by the Omni. But with that said....the tenders had done great flavor and the H-H dip was perfect. Service was ok? Nothing special but I got my food and they kept it clean. If you want a quick, easy, no frills but delicious chicken this is a solid spot.
Decided to check this place out for a late lunch since it is as close to the hotel. Relaxed atmosphere and known for their chicken so of course I had the tenders! They were huge and tasted great! Several different sauces to choose from but bbq was my favorite. People were friendly, a nice little place to grab a bite to eat if you're in the area.
Stopped in for a night cap. This is apparently still part of the Omni hotel, so all drinks and food are served in to go containers incase you want to take back to your room. The staff is super friendly, real happy, chatty and willing to offer suggestions. Though we just came for drinks, I was quickly talked into their Brookie sundae, brownie, cookie, caramel, on vanilla ice cream..perfect ending to the day! Great place would visit again for a meal given the chance

Run, walk, jump, hop, or skip to get here. Hops & Hens is worth the trip. I love the joy of discovery as this mundane place transforms something as simple as a chicken tender sandwich into a thing of beauty. They advertise that the chicken is marinated in hops and brewer's spices. I had the crispy chicken tender henwich and nestled between the buns were crispy bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, cheddar and a savory herb ranch sauce. The chicken was lightly battered, and it was juicy and delicious! Did I mention the sandwich was humongous! I also had a side Caesar salad. They don't skimp on the dressing, croutons, and parmesan. The salad was well coated, crisp and fresh. A very laid-back place where you place your food order at the counter and they assign you a number displayed on a stand. Find a table and display your number, and they'll deliver your food to you. They have numerous other items, sides, draft beer and cocktails on tap. There is definitely something here for everyone to enjoy. The prices are extremely reasonable as well.

The atmosphere here is awesome also! They have a great patio to eat on with outdoor games. It's just really relaxing, chill, and fun place to eat! I would not be surprised if we come back again tomorrow!
This was convenient to my location. Stopped in for lunch. Quick and prompt service. I had a chicken sandwich and tater tots. The food came out very quickly. The entire meal was lukewarm at best. The sandwich had a good flavor and was well rounded. However it was not warm. I also ordered tater tots, they came out cold as well. Not sure what was happening in the kitchen but they clearly prepare food ahead of time. If you are going to do that, invest in a way to keep your product warm/hot. My experience here was just so-so. Try them for yourself!
Open area seating. Food on paper plates with plastic utensils. Bus your own tables. Didn't really like any of the food I tried. Just not my type of place

The food here was good. I met a friend here who was staying at the Omni and everything we ordered was good and inexpensive so I would definitely recommend this place. The service was nice, but we didn't really get to experience any service because we had to go to the counter and place our order but they did bring out our food to us. The ambience was very quiet and quaint in the daytime and I would recommend this place because the food was good. read more

Best chicken tenders I've had so far. Food came out hot and fresh and their H&H sauce was delicious. Great view of downtown Dallas as well and right across the street to Omni Dallas. read more
A great chicken tenders place right next to the convention center, this quickly became my go to spot when working at the convention center. The sauces are all pretty standard the main star is the chicken and the tots as those were freshly friend and served. Great portion sizes make this a great option for lunch and dinner! read more

Friendly service, delicious food, fun layout! They even have board games on the side to play if you come in a group or couple. Recommend 5/5! I had the tenders with H&H sauce which is a cajun flavor, the street corn bites (fire), and russian mule x2. read more

Ate here at lunch and the service was really slow. I don't fault them for that since there was a busy convention. They were out of every kind of fountain drink except root beer. The food was mediocre, nothing to write home about, but not bad and works in a pinch. The tots were actually pretty good and worth a try. read more
On a recent trip to Dallas I stopped by Hops & Hens to check out their chicken game. Fun spot, fun menu, tasty chicken... but they committed the cardinal sin of chicken sandwiches and made the bread horrible!! A good chicken sandwich deserves bread that can handle that chicken!! We stopped in to see about this restaurant looking for chicken and waffles. When we googled it online this one popped up. Now, I can't attest to the food, as we got here looked at the menu, and then decided to move on. They didn't have chicken and waffles. The food they were cooking smelled good, the dining areas was extremely empty even for 1300 hours on a Saturday, not sure if that means anything about the food or the location. It is located at the Omni hotel complex, parking is limited unless. you want to pay and extravagant amount to park your vehicle, otherwise park far away and hoof it in on foot. What they serve is chicken strips, in either a basket or a sandwich. Seems all of it's Ala carte, as the main plates don't seem to come with anything other than the described item. Sides are all extra. Staff was fairly friendly. We looked over the menu and looked at things online for a bit before exiting, the staff was very nice and accommodating. I'm sure the food is fine, as some patrons came in while we stood there, but for the prices, the same exact fare can be had for less at Chik-fil-a. read more
I tried this place on my other day of the convention. The drink wasn't that great. I would rate 2.5/5 The Texas hot crispy tenders were really good and they give one free dipping but I choose to get 2 which wasn't needed at all as the hot tenders were self sufficient by it self. The H&H sauce was also nice. I would rate it 4.5/5. Service was ok - 4/5 I was sitting outdoors and the environment was pretty decent. Again this is 3.5 star place. read more

An excellent experience all around. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Service was quick. The chicken strips were amazing and the loaded tots had queso and bacon bits - they put a huge smile on our face! Dipping sauces were also great. Chicken strips were super large and high quality. Atmosphere provided great vibes and the seating was comfy. Will definitely be back! read more
