Showed up without the drywall guy Alex though (who said he didn't have the appt. on his schedule) so I called the office and was told Alex would come out the next day. He did show, after I called the office AGAIN, and was over 30 min. late. That was on Nov 13. Since then, the KCHRP rep I'm working with and I have been GHOSTED and we never received any estimates for the work that would be done. All of that time spent for NOTHING.

When we were planning our kitchen renovation, I contacted several stone countertop companies. I had…read moredecided on using quartz for its durability and almost no maintenance was needed. Within minutes of sending my email, I received a reply from Johnson Stone Countertops, via Dar Khashi, thanking me for contacting them and asked me to give rough measurements of the areas that needed the countertops and the type of stone I preferred. Dar directed me to the Pental Quartz showroom in Fife so I can view and select from a wide variety of stones. Once I selected the stone, Dar submitted his quote and patiently adjusted and readjusted the quotes because we decided to add a "waterfall" at the end of one counter and later use the same quartz material for the backsplashes. Not only this, my first selection was not available in the countertop thickness but was available in the thickness for the backsplash so I had to choose another stone. Next, the backsplash was not available but countertops were. Dar was kind enough to provide me with various options in the price range I was looking at. When I could not find one that I absolutely liked, I asked him to give me a list of similar stones (I wanted white with gray veins similar to carrara marble) on the higher price range. We eventually selected Avenza by Pental Quartz. Scheduling of templating and installation was then handled by Anne Lavine, who was also very responsive to my emails and phone calls. Even the gentlemen who did the templates and installed our countertops and backsplashes were very pleasant and professional. (Sorry, I forgot their names and they should also be given credit for their professionalism!) Better yet, the entire process from ordering to completion of installation took about a month. Other companies (who replied to my query days/weeks after I sent it) told me it would be a minimum of 6 weeks after templating. Would highly recommend Johnson Stone Countertops anytime! And if we should need some countertops in the future, I will not hesitate to contact them again.

Cuong is the best, seriously: very reasonable pricing, extremely hard-working, honest, dependable, fair - I didn't realize contractors like this exist. I almost made a huge mistake and passed on Cuong originally because it didn't seem like he could deliver on what he quoted (he was so much more reasonable than other contractors), and he is very unassuming: quiet, no pressure, fast and easy - - so I thought there must be something off. Man, am I glad that about a year later when we circled back on our ADU remodel, Cuong was still willing to work with us (even when other contractors we originally consulted with bailed, or didn't even have the courtesy to respond). Again, he was so nonchalant about his ability to do the work that I had my doubts, but he immediately proved us wrong - to say the least. Cuong got to work right away. In the space of just a couple months he transformed our ADU from a dated and ugly, unusable space, into an amazing little home, which we furnished and rent now. I was (and am) incredibly impressed by Cuong. He is not someone you need to press to do the right thing. He is independently motivated to do the job the right way, and to work efficiently. He would ask to work weekends just to stay on schedule; he would pick up materials for us; and he was flexible and available when we needed him. *Note that the only thing he doesn't really do is design. He will consult on small things, like where to put outlets, or how a door should open, but I would not expect him to design and build. Provided you have your design and vision though, the man can execute. It is a pleasure to write this review and to share our experience, and I think our results speak for themselves (which I've posted before and after photos of). I wish Cuong and NCC all the best; although I'm sure we'll be seeing them soon on some of our many projects :)
