Totally hooked by the starters, sandwich and raw oysters. Very reasonable price with good portions of food! Fresh, tasty and delicious! My first choice so far at Ocean City! Definitely recommended! read more

The service sucks here, after asking for beard for 3 different times yet I was being told that it's still very hot,, serviced the bread very cold and extremely salty with a lot of attitude to top it all. I would never want to come here ever, people don't come to get attitude served. read more

A group of 7 of us came here for dinner around 530 and there was no line- we heard we should come before 6 to beat the line and we did.. The food, décor, and staff were all amazing... We got the calamari (AMAZING), flatbread (shockingly amazing) and truffle fries were just good.. They started us with some delish bread -- so soft and flavorful... We got a variety of seafood and chicken and it was great... I personally got the salmon and loved it... You wont be disappointed here! read more

I understand why this restaurant has such excellent reviews. The food was absolutely phenomenal I recommend getting there early for dinner I waited approximately an hour and 15 minutes (Arrival at 6pm) on a summer Thursday we enjoyed a drink at the outdoor bar while we waited. Appetizers The fried burrata was an excellent choice The fried calamari did not disappoint Salad The Caesar salad was the best I have ever had. Entrees The Scallops with grits were delightful The softshell crab special was outstanding according to the diner. The grilled shrimp and filet mignon entrée looked nice but I could not tell because the diner at my table chose to have it well done....Some people... The service was on point, my waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. I cannot say enough about the quality of my experience. read more

I hate that I have to write this because I was really excited about coming back here. I came to this place to have one thing in mind: crispy skin on salmon over rice. I had this dish when I first came here in August, so when my bf had a conference back in OC I took the opportunity to visit the restaurant again. In one month, the dish did an absolutely 180. It came out and right away I noticed the skin wasn't on it so I was confused and looked back on the menu. It was clearly stated tthere would be crispy skin on the salmon. I got the waiter's attention and asked him to confirm. He was a little unsure but when I showed the menu he went back to the cook to ask. Apparently the cook decided to take it off. No idea why. I didn't want to wait for another meal to be cooked, especially since my boyfriend ordered a salad and I didn't want either of us eating alone. The cook did offer to get me a glass of wine so I took that. Between the lukewarm cream of crab soup (that I had to ask to reheat) and the disappointing dish I had just one month ago, I can't say I'd come back here again. First impression was great, but follow up lacked. I like consistency in the restaurant. read more

Excellent food and service. Female waitress server Julia was so friendly and food delicious and good price. Last night, went to BLU crabhouse and was so disappointed. Spent over $300 for party of 5. Snow crabs were cold and dry...like if it was sitting for hours not cycled. There were many empty tables yesterday. Same with blue crabs...so small and cold as well. I showed the waitress because it was so light and she replaced it just that one, when my family were basically eating similar small crabs w/ no meat. All I remember is eating corn, some sausages and biscuits...that we end up ordering more. And waitress wasn't too friendly(not a single smile....but kept coughing, maybe she was sick) unlike this place Hooked...waitress here was so full of smiles and just made you feel comfortable. Anyway, my family were so happy of this place Hooked...quality food and very friendly service. And cost less than half paid last night at BLU. I plan to come back in few days with my golfing friends, who'll be arriving for weekend. read more

Went here for dinner last night. Great food! Really enjoyed the crab dip appetizer, scallops with grits and crab cakes. We were seated immediately and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice hearty meal. Couldn't be more please. Unfortunately we were too full to try dessert but I'm sure they'll be a next time. read more

Great service but overrated in terms of food in my opinion. This is only based on one dinner here, so I would return to try more of the menu for this reason; however, based on these reviews and considering it's expensive, I expected Hooked to be much better. The location is okay. It's easy to find and you can see the sign clearly from Coastal Highway. There aren't many obvious parking spots by the front, but there are more in the back. The restaurant itself is two levels with a bar on both and a bar outside as well. Both levels are on the small side and it was pretty loud upstairs where we were seated. But there was no wait time and our orders came out really fast, which we appreciated. The Boom Boom Shrimp were awesome. It's hard to do those wrong, but these were extra good. We came exclusively for crab cakes, which weren't bad but definitely weren't as good as we though they would be. You get two 4oz crab cakes with your choice between four ''sets,'' which are combinations of sides. I got mine with the red rice, which also came with charred broccoli and bean sprouts. The broccoli was great. The rest, not so much. I could only eat one of the crab cakes because they were so filling. They also weren't hot, just slightly warm. I don't think the entire dish is worth $35... We were too full to stay for dessert, but the options they had sounded good. Our server said the desserts change frequently. Anyway, I would recommend trying the Boom Boom Shrimp and the crab cakes, but there is room for improvement in terms of the sides. read more

Another solid meal...again, the scallops and grits should also be sold as suntan lotion, it is beach town and you'll be more popular for it. Wasn't crazy about my fried snapper, but then again, it's my fault for ordering the most bland fish on the menu. . read more

This was our first meal when we arrived in OC. I ordered the crabcake sandwich. It was a huge meaty crabcake seasoned well. It was a little too salty but the lettuce, tomato and bun balanced it out. I got the crab bisque and it was very salty so I would not recommend that. My friend got the shrimp & grits with chorizo. That dish was very flavorful, tasted just like an authentic Southern dish. Overall it was very good service. The waitress was attentive with us. It's a nice lunch spot. read more

Definitely head and shoulders above the restaurants on the street. They strive to be trendy. The young waitstaff oversell their knowledge. Stick to the food. It's excellent. Fresh, well prepared seafood. Ask for their nightly specials. read more

We came here after our friend suggested they had the best burgers in the area...then we got there and they had only one burger I could get. Unfortunately for me, my friends information was outdated. My wife however loved all of the fish options and told me it was hard to pick only one. She ended up going with the Branzino and said it was one of the best prepare fish she had eaten n a long time. My burger almost ruined my entire meal. Now I'm a very simple guy. I love meat, cheese, and the bun. Once I read all the strange fancy things they put on the burger, I told them to take most of it off. What really made me Mad and almost had me rate this much lower, was that they failed to mention in the description that the burger had this weird dill mayo sauce on it. So my burger came out and I had to scrape it off. I hate dill! I didn't have the time to make them remake it either. There was literally no reason for them to not mention the sauce. They listed all the other ingredients. It almost ruined my burger for me. I would say to come here, but if you do, I would ask specifically what comes on your order... read more

I came here with my family the first night we arrived in Ocean City. The awesome Yelp reviews is what made me want to come. The appetizers were really great. We tried the wings and the crab dip. The wings were really tasty. I especially liked the side of spicy sauce. The crab dip was also phenomenal- super tasty and cheesy with a lot of crab meat. I wanted to get the Halibut, but they ran out of it right before I ordered it. They also ran out of Fish and Chips. Um, what's up with that? I had the Tuna entree instead. It was fresh but not overwhelmingly tasty. My sister had the Cioppino. She also said it was bland. My mom and I had margaritas which were very good. They come in cute mason jars. Overall, I'd say the cute ambiance is nice as well as the great appetizers, but I'd stick to apps and drinks here. Have fun! read more

Looked up best places for dinner in OCMD and Hooked was #1 and it did not disappoint at all. They took covid precautions and even addressed an issue with social distancing while I was there extremely professional. Now to the food...aren't enough words. The scallops with the cheddar grits, bacon and spicy beer broth was amazing. Wife got the crab cakes and I had a crab cake every day I was in OCMD which was 4 days...best one I had. I am a cole slaw guy and their homemade one was great. The calamari appetizer...two thumbs up. While the food was great it was almost upstaged but the hand crafted cocktails. I'm not a vodka guy but the Grapefruit Crush sounded to good to pass up and it was. I never drink vodka drinks...had two. Wife got the blueberry lemonade(another vodka cocktail) and also great. We were so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We ordered oysters and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was very large and fresh and 6 for $10 was a fair price for the size of them. The bread was Amazing!!!!! For dinner my husband got the cioppino and really enjoyed how much seafood was in it. I got the snapper with red rice and it was perfectly prepared. After eating way too many boardwalk fries I needed something on the healthier side and this meal was perfect. I left feeling full without the guilt. I would definitely return. read more

Nice little spot, we ate here tonight. We sat upstairs. I really liked the atmosphere and our server was very quick and friendly which we appreciated the fast service with a one year old! The complimentary bread was delicious, the shrimp cocktail was so fresh! The signature boom boom shrimp was a great appetizer too, delicious! We shared blackened mahi with the rice "set" the mahi need sauce or something but was fresh and would have been good with some type of sauce or pineapple mango salsa.. something. The rice it was under was terribly salty. I wouldn't order the mahi again. All in all good. read more

The corn and jalapeño crab bisque is 10/10. Absolutely delicious. I like how you can pick your fish, then pick the way it's prepared flavor wise. The fish was fresh and tasty. The presentation is like fine art. The orange crushes are delicious, and they have lots of MD craft brews to choose from. I was really looking forward to trying the soft shell, but they didn't have it. read more

Hooked is a fairly new OC spot that's been blowing up! Local and fresh what else do we need at the beach? Pretty small menu but that's usually a good sign that they're doing things right here. We started with the crab dip & tuna crudo - both so flavorful and the fresh pretzel bread was the perfect pairing for the dip. My friends and i shared the Chesapeake Cobb salad and the blackened fish tacos. They did not skimp on the crab and fish at all! Very good portion sizes everything was on point with flavor. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Definitely a cute date night spot in OC! read more

Consistently AMAZING...just visited Hooked for the third time. This place is consistently quality from start to finish, every time. The cocktails are well crafted and fresh. For appetizers- they are all delicious, but the highlight is the crab dip with the pretzels. I'm not one to always go for crab dip because you can literally get it at every restaurant in Ocean City, but this one is by far the best. For Dinner- the scallops with grits. This is honestly a death bed meal. SO GOOD. And, last but not least, try their Chesapeake hot sauce when you are there! It's like the infamous Old Bay Hot Sauce, but better. If you like it, you can ask your server to buy a bottle (for a very reasonable price)! read more

Best meal we've had in OC. Food was great and service was awesome! I had the jalapeño and corn crab bisque - wonderful. Not too spicy, the jalapeño just added a nice bite to the flavor. My wife had crab cakes, excellent and the portion was huge so she took half of it home. I had scallops which were done perfectly and mixed in a wonderful broth with grits and bacon. Service again was the best, we were in and out of there in less than an hour. New favorite restaurant in OC! read more

Nice time with my kids. Well worth the time it was a pleasure and pleasant experience. The food was good and would recommend it

Everything but the crab cakes. What can I say about a restaurant that when you go there for crab cakes and everything you taste is amazing except the crab cakes. I say wow. !!! Crab bisque and dip left me wanting to bath in it. The Chopino was savory and I wanted to drink the sauce directly from the bowl. Scallops were perfect , tender and succulent the cheese grits were an unexpected surprise with a touch of spice. Finished it with Cinnamon toast crunch bread pudding that melted with the vanilla pecan ice cream. Wow. Definitely would go back over and over again. read more

Visited this place last week. They tend to get busy at night and there's limited outdoor seating but it's worth it. Came for dinner but had to wait 45 minutes so we went some place else. COVID precautions were taken during this time. Food was pretty good. Got the boom boom shrimp and was pretty good. Sweet, a little spicy, crunchy, and succulent shrimp. My girlfriend and i got the crab cakes and was amazing. They were not shy with the crab meat, and their couscous was great. My other family members had other experiences. For example the crispy skin salmon and the cioppino were all salty to my family and they really enjoy salty foods. And that is saying a lot. So it is a hit or miss for this restaurant. Staff is awesome. Environment is slightly upscale. Accommodations were on point (we came in with a group of 18 and they made it easy). read more

Great place for dinner at OCM. We arrived without reservation and yet while they were booked, they still managed to find a table for us. Everything was flavorful and delicious--from the calamari and mussels to the entrees like the crab cakes and salads. Even the kids' meals were well prepared and enjoyable. I came here with a group of 13 people and service was excellent. I ordered the decadent Pig n' Oyster Po' Boy (pork belly, fried oysters, BBQ sauce, and coleslaw) which comes with a side of fries ($15). I'm not a fan of coleslaw, and while I couldn't substitute it, they were accommodating so that I could get it on the side. The Po' Boy had a nice presentation. In terms of taste, it was a good sandwich, but there was way to much bread and not enough filling. I also got to try their calamari appetizer and truffled bacon fries. I loved their calamari! The batter was light and crispy, and the calamari was tender. It was also topped with a flavorful aioli. The truffled bacon fries were okay - more cheesy than anything. Though I didn't try the pork belly corn dog, someone else at my table did - and it was ginormous! We had a nice dinner at Hooked, and I would come here again. Recommend for large groups. read more

The decor was breathtaking...overall the menu and prices were not that "family friendly" in my opinion. I came here Thu with my 5yr old and 13yr old I ordered the Green Tomatoe Spring salad for myself, a Hooked burger for my son and shrimps and fries from the kids menu for my daughter. We started with some Candied chipotle wings and my drink was the coconut mojito. #TotalHit That drink was err thang!!! The salad had loads of flavor and was quite refreshing. We liked the wings and I liked the shrimp. This was my best effort not to spend over $100. I came to that side of OC for a steam boil at Del Marva crabhouse and learned those could run $60-$100 or more for 1 steampot...too much for me and 2 kids, so I turned around and ended up here. Not too bad...a lil over $75 for lunch with 2 children was a little pricey for my taste. read more

Not good value for the price. Very unremarkable meals x3. I got the halibut $40.00... small portion, also needed some spice or something, just boring. It came with asparagus which was well cooked, and had good flavor. Hubby ordered fish and chips... everything needed spices it was just tasteless. Son ordered fish tacos, this was the best meal, only because finally some taste! Service was a 3 out of 5, the place was not busy and our service was lack luster. Ambiance was fine. read more
