We drove from St Mihaels, where we live. , with expectations of a great meal as we have jad in the past. Well it was a major disappointment. It has been two years and alot has changed ...just very unattentive service and food that we just "ok" Crab dip...with cheese sauce and no crab. Soft shell crabs were very good, but just poor presentation. I would just suggest that if you are coming hwre for a meal, look for other options before you come here to spend over $100 on no cocktails, softshell cravs and fish and chips ! read more

First stop on our trip in OC. Very nice atmosphere and only had to wait about 30mins on a Sunday evening which wasn't bad because there are some cute shops on either side of the restaurant. They had outdoor seating as well as indoor- we sat upstairs in a booth. Food was very good. The shrimp and grits was extremely flavorful and my fiancé loved his swordfish that was blackened to perfection. Only reason for four stars is because our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be there however, the service was efficient because we got our food quickly. Outstanding food! Had a delicious meal here. Cioppino was great, and scallops over corn and grits was darn near perfect! Nice local beer selection too. Would be 5 stars, but sitting outside wasnt great. Server seemed to forget about us a bit. And the space outside was dingy. First place me and the lovely wife visited in Ocean City and couldn't be happier. We were seated upon arrival. Waitress was awesome and friendly. We shared the crab dip which came with fresh baked pretzel logs. Delicious! I also had the calamari which was outstanding and my favorite so far in OC. This visit was my first time in this location since La Hacienda moved to Ocean Pines many years ago. Hooked has a solid reputation in OC and we were not disappointed. Even in the cold off-season (December) the restaurant was packed full of happy, hungry customers. The seafood dishes we samples were very good - scallops in particular. I ordered a NY Strip and it was also well prepared (which is notable for a seafood place). They also had a great deal on fish tacos, which were tasty and filling. It's a very satisfying seafood experience. Not sure if they take reservations, but if they do... I would recommend it. read more

We were excited to be dining for the first time in this restaurant, however, it took a disappointing turn. The service was fine, the ambience was nice but the food was not what we ordered. Not sure who was at fault, the server for not relaying it to the kitchen properly or an inept cook. We ordered a med-well OTH burger and it was rare. We asked for no pesto on the fries and they came out with pesto. They did give us a side of plain fries. The server seemed overwhelmed and gave us numerous excuses. At the end she comped us for a glass of wine and took 1/2 off of the burger. Still don't know if this was relayed to management. Excellent food and ambiance. Food is unique and cooked to perfection. This was our second time there in two years and unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. We went back thinking it was just the once, but we experienced the same thing and won't be back. Waitress wasn't friendly, no follow up after the appetizer or meal, had to ask other waitresses for items, and we had to ask for the check three times. The roasted beets with shosito peppers and goat cheese was unique, had just a little kick to make it interesting. The lobster carbonara, to die for! This place is nothing short of amazing! I was staying at a hotel near by, and I wanted to go eat somewhere that focused on seafood. This place had some great reviews so I decided to check it out. You can't make reservations so if you're coming with a big group, I suggest you come at an earlier time. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and accomodating staff. My wait time was about 10 min for two people (I got there at 6:30). They have an extensive wine selection and there food menu is diverse. I had the crap dip to start which was delicious and the scallops over cheddar grits as my entree which was to die for. My mother ordered a salmon dish which she also raved about. We stopped here a few years ago by happenstance, and now we make sure to stop here every year. Every year we get the calamari, crab chowder, and crab dip as appetizers. They can't be beat. As for the mains--we'll try new things, and they never disappoint! Last night I had the scallops and Scott had the crab cakes, Deegan had the cioppino, and Connor had the grilled Mahi Mahi. Everything was delicious! AND it was Connor's birthday and our server was even nice enough to add a candle and start a happy birthday song for him. It was very sweet. Thanks for a great experience! The food from the app to our entrees were delicious. I had a crab cake risotto special and I can not stop thinking about how good it was, the key lime pie heavenly. Easily 5 stars! We were a little hesitant to try this place out as we had 2 vegetarians and 2 non-seafood lovers in our group. So we decided to take the safe option and try it out for lunch. We all agreed it was the best food we had all week! Among our party, we ordered the caprese salad with a side of fries, 2 vegetarian plates, and the crab cake, served on a corn puree with potatoes, peas, and tomatoes. Everything was top notch! In case you're wondering what the vegetarian entree is (I couldn't find it described in any reviews), I think it may change seasonally. When we were there, it was a vegetable medley including: patty pan squash, brussel sprouts, tomatoes, red pepper, corn, and a pesto sauce. BTW, I don't even like seafood, but I tasted the crab cake and it was SO good that I think I may get it next time! My sister and I ordered the grapefruit and orange crushes (drinks) respectively. Both were boozy and sweet, but not too sweet. We both preferred the grapefruit. I am saving the best part of the review for last: the dessert! You MUST get some. We tried the coconut cake and the berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The cobbler was very good, although their wasn't much crumble, mostly fruit and melty ice cream (not necessarily a bad thing). However, the coconut cake was to die for! It was better than any wedding cake I have tried. Dense cake, creamy frosting, not overly coconutty- we literally scraped the plate clean! TIP- the lunch and dinner menu are pretty much the same, except lunch portions are smaller and the prices are cut in half! Spacious seating inside, outside and upstairs. They have great happy hour deals too! Select appetizers are half off and there's a few deals on alcohol too. Definitely recommend you sit in the outside bar area. They have outdoor fans and because it's in the shade, it's a bit cooler. Had the flatbread, hot wings and boom boom shrimp. The flatbread is pretty small, but worth it. Comes out in four even slices. It had chunks of fresh crab meat, some sort of corn chowder, truffle oil and little bits and pieces of bacon. Yum! The shrimp just tasted like your usual fried shrimp topped in spicy mayo, but how can you go wrong with that?! Whatever you do, make sure you get the hot wings. The wings are perfectly crispy and has a sweet, tangy spice to them. Yum yum! Would love to head back to try other things on the menu. read more

This particular Friday night was 3 courses for $30. We were thinking that the portions would be small... to the contrary. We each ordered a different appetizer: crab dip, calamari and boom boom shrimp. Delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my entree, Salmon, and my sister had the crab cakes which I tasted, goooodd! We visited Hooked on a family beach trip to OCM. It was WONDERFUL! We had a party of 7 and were seated in about 20 minutes (much better than another restaurant that gave a 1.75 hour wait). We sat in their upstairs area which was super nice. They provided complimentary bread delivered with our drink orders. We ordered appetizers of the crab dip and calamari- both were excellent! My husband and I both had their Porter beer and gave it a thumbs up, dark and sweet. Between the members of our group we tried Shrimp and Grits, Basil Encrusted Tuna, Crispy Alaskan Salmon, Cioppino, kids fried fish and kids mac and cheese with fries. Everything was FRESH and flavorful! Prices were posted on their online menu, so we knew what to expect and considered it reasonable. Serving sizes were average. Service was prompt and professional. My friends and I came to OC to spend a weekend at the beach. As I was looking for a lunch spot, I found Hooked filtering by "most reviewed" on Yelp which usually indicates popularity. It was pretty empty when we walked in which was pretty alarming given the positive reviews. However, the service was good and we all enjoyed the food we ordered. One thing that left me puzzled about this place was the prices. I had the fish and chips ($12), my friends had Braised beef short ribs ($13) and pan roasted French cut chicken breast ($23). While the first two dishes were in the same range, somehow the chicken breast was double the price? Better be some organic and super special chicken breast! We come here every year and whenever we are in town. The menu varies slightly season to season but the general concept is the same. Fresh ingredients with a sea/farm to table style. The menu has a decent selection of appetizers, sides, entrees, and drinks. The calamari is always well prepared. The rockfish tacos are flavorful and the fish is crispy and warm. There is a fair bit of pickled onion on the tacos, which I enjoyed, but might not please everyone's palate. The Caesar salad has a nice dressing and was not over dressed. The croutons were a bit small but I'm not a huge fan of croutons in general. The fresh catch fish is always a hearty portion with lots of fresh vegetables. Not a lot of starch on that plate so plan accordingly. read more

Used you be really good, but this place is slowly declining. Fries used to be hand cut-now they are McDonald's style. Shrimp bucatini okay, was sooo salty and it was obvious they used frozen shrimp. Shrimp tacos only had 2 shrimp in each. Crab dip has absolutely NO crab in it and it's $18!!! Strawberry bread pudding is a dense brick and flavorless with no fresh strawberries, just tasteless jam on top. Raising prices and cutting corners. Too bad because we used to love to come here. Overall, it was a tad bit bland, but not much different than I expected. It still had a good taste compared to other seafood dishes I tried in the area.
