It was less than a 10-minute drive from where we were staying, and going there was the best decision! They were offering two lobster rolls for $41, and they were worth every penny. Each roll was generously filled with large chunks of fresh lobster, a little diced celery, and just the right amount of mayo. They weren't overly dressed or packed with unnecessary fillers--the lobster was definitely the star. One roll filled me up, so I packed the second one in a cooler and brought it home to my dad in Nassau County. He loved it and gave it a 5/5 too! They also sell baked goods, and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Just keep in mind that there is no seating and you cannot eat on the premises because it's an active driveway. Everything is to go, but the beach is only a short drive away and makes the perfect place to enjoy your food. If you're looking for fresh local seafood, generous lobster rolls, and a no-frills hidden gem, Bennett Shellfish is absolutely worth the visit!

Laid back, casual! The menu and what came out of the kitchen was exceptional and "5" worthy alone. We had some sushi grade tuna tacos with crispy wonton style shells. The tacos were dressed with all the right flavors and additions you would expect from a top sushi joint. Excellent! We also had Moroccan spiced lamb sliders! Wow good! Perfect! Go to the Gig Shack just to get this! 100% worthy the trip. Id say the menu is somewhat surfer-fusion with California taco influence. There are lots of options. The fried mozzarella was not like mozzarella sticks, it was literally a fried block of mozzarella. The marinara sauce it was in was to die for. I would def order this again. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. I called the next day and said there was a mistake and I was accidentally overcharged. I gave the staff all the grace in the world. I was then asked if there was a problem with the service after giving 10 dollars!! These obnoxious, smug thieves were caught red handed and could not just refund my 19 dollars without first asking why I ONLY tipped 10. I was going to do a police report so it was good they at least credited back my 19 dollars they stole after I caught them. I wish I did not even leave a ten dollar tip.
