the receipt for the restaurant
Amanda E.

Food was ok but overpriced for the size. Drinks were as well. $13.50 for a small glass of wine in a plastic cup lol. A Magnum size bottle of Monkey Bay cost $14 in my local wine store. We weren't in NYC. Also everything we ordered was actually $1-2 more than listed on the menu. I ordered a platter that said it came with fries but on the receipt I was charged $4.50 for fries? Why would it be called a platter and not include fries? We sat outside and watched people eat and leave. Not one time did someone come and clean the tables. They should be during Covid. The young girls working inside just seemed a little unaware or just poor training.

Lobster Roll is served with "Lettuce and tomato"

The Lobster Roll was just okay - the consistency of tuna salad and small for the price, but flavorful. However the "lettuce and tomato" it comes with was a sad paper-thin twisted slice of tomato and the pathetic tail ends of some browned lettuce shreds. Definitely not worth the $30 dollars they charge for it. Plus the kitchen worker who was assembling it wasn't wearing her mask. Very disappointing, I'd been looking forward to trying this place.

Everytime we take a trip out to Montauk we notice this small roadside shack. This day we decided to drop in to try their food. The Lobster roll was a little to fancy/expensive for me as a first timer, so I went for the crab roll and the fried flounder. Crab roll was good. They weren't skimpy on the crab meat, and it had a good taste. Fried flounder was great. Crispy on the outside, tender and fresh on the inside. Not fishy, not greasy, and delicious. The fries were standard frozen fries. Nothing to write home about. Salad was... salad. Slaw was good, maybe a bit too Tangy for my taste, but my wife loved it All in all, I would do home cut style fries and use more upscale ingredients when it comes to the salad... especially when I am paying $15-$28 bucks for a sandwich Good job guys. The star of the show is what matters anyways, and you guys nailed it.

Oops lol It was a quiet Friday evening and Plaza Café is conveniently located near my friend's house there in South Hampton. Being off season, there has been very little traffic and people on the streets. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant when we walked in. This place is cute, private, has great good food, and service. Their menu is very small, but I was still having trouble deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner. Finally decided on the Tile fish....Yeah I know, I was like. Was told that they're like human beings because they eat just about anything in the sea. No idea if that's true or not, but I'll take it. The dish was light and full of flavor. Tried some of my friend's Salmon/Udon dish and I actually think his was the better choice. The salmon went very well with the udon. Noodles were kind of firm and juices full of flavor. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Looks like they may share it with businesses/hotel in the area. I'd eat here again. The décor and feel was okay, nothing amazing or memorable.

They earn top marks for serving brunch in a cocktail glass! The drink came beautifully garnished with shrimp cocktail, bacon, blue cheese-stuffed olives, and celery. I ordered mine "sub vodka for tequila" to make it a Bloody Maria, and it was absolutely perfect -- the right balance of liquor and horseradish spice, and deliciously thick, just the way I like it. I'll never order a Bloody Mary with vodka again -- tequila is the way to go! The olives added that umami punch I adore. I visited on 10/25/25 and sat at the bar. Kaylia K, my waitress and bartender, was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The restaurant itself was spotless and inviting. I also ordered the seafood nachos, which didn't cater to my tastes -- I'll pass on that next time. If you're in the Hamptons and love a well-crafted Bloody Mary, I highly recommend Lunch Lobster Roll.

I still dream about the special they had where their lobster salad came in a local HUGE heirloom tomato. We came at a slower time, right before the dinner rush, and our server was patient. The food came out quick. Even our crab dip, which she prefaced with it would take a while, came out quickly as well. This is a must if you're coming out east. It's not as touristy as you think as it's a local's favorite.

I did struggle finding something that excited me. It was your typical upscale but unimaginative menu. However, I am pleased to say that the food was delicious and the portions were very good. The wait staff was outstanding. Very often, during a business meeting at other restaurants, I have had waitors interrupt the train of thought ... or mid-sebtence swoop in and ask if everything is alright or if more drinks are needed. Here, our waitress did a great job of appearing during very good times and not being overbearing, yet at the same time being helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is okay. Inside is kind of typical of an upscale corporate event-style venue. The upper outside deck is fantastic with views of the water and comfortable seating. I would come back if I was in the area. Though there are better food options elsewhere in the Hamptons, for a sit down restaurant that you can do business in, it hits all the right notes. Prices are high, as expected, in the Hamptons.

Shrimp was cut into small pieces and wasn't overly covered with sauce. Shrimp had great flavor and the French fries were very good. I got a steak bowl that came with rice, beans, avocado, sweet plantain, and a nice veggie slaw. The bowl was very good and the steak was pounded out and just very good. Unfortunately, the food is no longer seafood-centric and overall not nearly as good. Music was loud and the service was very lacking. However, majority of everything else was just average at best and not memorable. To top it off, the prices are relatively high for what we received and the service was subpar. No one came to pour us water or take an order after we sat down for 20 minutes. Then a few different servers came by with our food. No refills on our water or check on our status. Next time we saw our server was when she came by to give us the check. Didn't even asked if we wanted dessert. Oh well, we will not be back.

We'd been trying to order another round for a bit when a guy who seemed to be one of her regulars came up and ordered food to go, but no drink, which she immediately started pressing him on loudly, saying "If you don't order a drink you don't stay long, and then I'm going to be so f*cking bored here..." I guess having a bar with other people who want a drink is boring? Her conversation with this man continued and was kind of inappropriate - she talked about wanting to dropkick some kids at one point, which, what? Why? We had considered staying longer and ordering dinner but the vibes were off, so we called it a day and closed out. Sucks, because the clam chowder was decent and the views were great.

I was in heaven enjoying this soup. It was nice to have indoor seating. I didn't notice any picnic tables outside? I don't get it, New England is kicking our tails (See what I did there?) Lobster: It wasn't coated in butter but a mayo-y mess I ordered the biggest, baddest Lobster Roll they offer. It came with three large pieces of fresh fish. The fish was lightly coated in batter and fried gold brown. The french fries were good as well as the fish, no complaints. The potato chips, I'm assuming they were homemade but after a few minutes became cold and oily, it didn't want me craving more. We shared the Italian BLT salad and the tomato on Toast to start. The tomato on toast when it came out was a little under whelming, but it was beyond amazing. The tomato's tasted like they had no acid, and were picked straight off the vine out back. I had the ribeye which was perfectly medium rare, so tender, flavorful and a really generous portion.
