Their BBQ three-meat combo rice is really good. It comes with roast duck, crispy roast pork, and BBQ spare ribs, along with some Shanghai bok choy and rice. The portion is generous and very satisfying--finishing it by myself left me really full.

Ordered via DoorDash so can't speak for service or ambiance. The duck wonton noodle soup was tasty although felt a bit greasy. Enjoyed the wontons, my duck didn't have too much meat on it. Husband got the bbq combo which was very filling and had plenty of meat. Might return but so many other Chinese bbq spots to try so it might be a little.

The food here was decent for the price and portion size. It wasn't amazing tasting nor was it awful, just decent and pleasant tasting. I tend to gravitate toward noodle dishes. And the dry beef chow fun is a staple in the wide noodle group. There was a good amount of the noodles along with beef and veggies. Presentation and flavors were there as well. The hubs also pointed out that they use the good old white styrofoam boxes which holds a little more than the plastic black ones. You can place an order via the cashier or there's a kiosk. Not sure if there's an extra credit card processing fee to use this. I say this because some of the other places offload the credit card charges to you. Cash is the best way to go. FYI: Hong Kong BBQ is located in the Chinatown food court.

Pretty solid Cantonese BBQ . Skin is crispy on the pork. Meat is marinated enough. If you get a combo with rice and soy sauce, you will have a pretty good meal for $14. Can't be too picky since we are not in HK. There is a fee for credit card. Parking is a problem because it is in the food court and there are many other businesses around. After 12pm you going to have some trouble

    #16 chow fun with beef

I love food hall fast counter service restaurants because I think most restaurants don't need waiters and tipping culture is stupid. The less interaction I have with people to get food into my mouth the better. My opinions aside I think beef chow fun is probably my wife's favorite noodle dish. The portion was a good size, but it wasn't amazing or awful. It was a hefty number of noodles and beef but to me the sauce wasn't that flavorful. The overall dish was a little oily. For crispy pork, I think Best BBQ is going to be a better choice. Would I come here again? Probably but I wouldn't come out of my way just to eat here. This place is in a convenient location of Chinese shopping center.

The pork over rice and duck was amazing. Half half of it all and included an egg. Make sure to eat it all quick because it's been heating for a while. My squid and congee expired very quick due to that. Love seeing the classic glass coke bottle.

I'm on the hunt for good Chinese bbq near me. The meat here is not bad. The chicken and bbq pork satisfy my cravings. Sometimes the crispy pork is a miss depending on the time of the day you go. The skin is good, but the meat can be dry. I do not recommend eating their bok Choy. They do not wash it thoroughly enough, and you can see the dirt still on there. My four stars is more for the meat The menu and kiosk can be confusing. At the most places, the roast pork is the one with the crispy skin. At this place, it's the bbq pork with the red sauce. If you want the crispy pork, you have to pick "roast pig" on the kiosk or ask for crispy pork when you order in person. This stall is located in a food plaza where there are many other stalls.

Hong Kong BBQ is located in the Chinatown Food Court in Chamblee. The parking lot wraps around the complex where the food court is, so finding parking, which is free, should not be an issue. As we were trying to decide what we wanted, the employee taking orders at the counter acted like he was in a hurry for us to order and was rude and pushy. His behavior should've been a red flag for me to walk away and go to another food stall. Instead, I ordered the bbq pork with rice. Wow! What a mistake! While waiting for our food, we got a table in the large dining area. The dining area tables are all first come, first served. I went back to King Kong BBQ and waited until the employee indicated to me to come to the counter and pick up our food. I was disappointed when I opened my styrofoam container at the table. My bbq pork with rice was an overcooked pork chop that was cut up. All of the meat was drenched in bbq sauce, which was much too sweet for me. I still tried to eat some of it by scraping off as much of the sauce as possible. However, most of the meat was too hard to chew. After pushing most of the meat aside so I could at least eat the rice, I found out that someone poured a healthy amount of bbq sauce on top of the rice before placing the meat on top of it. UGH!!!! I threw away more than 2/3rds of the awful meal after eating what was salvagable. What a waste! It'll be a while if I decide to come back. If I do, I'm definitely going to steer clear of the bbq pork and go with the duck or the roast pork hanging on display.

Food court style, which is a great idea for small or large groups alike. So many options and varieties. It was hot indoors so find a spot near a fan. I'd recommend this dish however be warned they give you a lot of rice but very little meat. It does come with half an egg. I was surprised to see bok choy and not pickled mustard greens but it was good to cut the heaviness. Overall not bad but wish they gave more sauce and more meat. The picture looked so much better.

Don't let the food court fool you. This place does BBQ right. The food is awesome. I got the bbq plate with roast duck, char sue and roast pork to try all the meat options. The roast pork was crispy and juicy. The roast duck was so well marinated it was heavenly. Needless to say, I did not leave a bite of this behind. The beef brisket was so tender and flavored just right. Brisket over rice, what else can I ask for, so good. Unfortunately I could not finish since I ate all the bbq plater already. The food is so good with many options and the portions are large. So glad I stopped in for lunch.

    Dry Beef Chow Fun

My review update to say their Dry Beef Chow Fun is still one of the best with that nice smoky stir fry flavor - except now it's $12.99 which by the way, is an awesome deal. The portion is super generous - enough to feel a family of 3-4 or leftovers for 2 more meals, lol. However leftover chow fun noodles is not the same ... noodles get rubbery and congealed together :( (It is crazy though to think I paid just $5.99 for this same dish in August 2008.) Next time, I'd like to try their roast duck.

Over the past 5 years, I've eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants, in and out of Atlanta and I can't say I have found too many that I've been 100% happy with. Hong Kong BBQ is another one that I can't say is perfect. But I have to say Hong Kong BBQ's meats are consistently good, and if you are able to arrive at the optimal time, the meat will be freshly cooked versus sitting out all day. Time it right and that roast pork is some of the best I've ever tasted! The past couple of years, I tried some roast duck from other locations that were OVERLY salty (why even provide that sauce to dip it in) and not fresh... but Hong Kong BBQ has rarely let me down! Definitely my go-to for a cheap and quick lunch or to bring a pound or two of roast pork or whole duck home to my parents!

This place is trash. I paid $13 bucks for the roast duck and got 6 little pieces, which was majority bones. Don't waste your money.

If you want traditional pushcart service, go to a place like Canton House or Royal China. Best BBQ is more ideal for takeout. When it comes to Atlanta, arguably five stars for the dim sum and other Chinese food alone. Here's what four of us got this time: D3. Chicken Feets [sic] ($7) D5. Beef Tripe ($7) D10. Fish Cake with Chives Flowers ($24) - includes soup and bowl of white rice Fisherman's Congee ($11) Roast Duck Congee ($13) Everything was fresh and delicious with generous portions. We skipped the line and ordered using the big tablet. Menu descriptions are non-existent, so if you don't know what something is, you're taking a chance. That's what I did with the Fisherman's Congee which turned out to have something I was allergic to (crustaceans). That's okay because the others ate it and I ordered a Roast Duck Congee instead. Yum. Service: Orders are called out on a microphone/speaker and you pick up at the counter. They forgot my chicken feet so I had to go up with my receipt and ask. They pulled their copy from the spike and made it right, with some squabbling among the employees in the process. Everyone had to bus their own tables. One employee cleaned the floor with rags instead of a mop. Not ideal. Overall, the dining room did not feel clean. The restroom was relatively decent, though. Atmosphere: We visited during a peak time, on a Sunday around 12:45 PM. The place was packed. Luckily, we were able to find a table. My wife described the scene as "chaotic." I call it authentic. :)

The skin is perfectly soft with just the right chew, and everything tastes fresh and made to order. What makes it even better? XL dumplings starting at just $7. The vibe is casual and no-frills, but that's how you know the food is legit. It's definitely a local favorite for a reason. If you're craving big, juicy dumplings in ATL, this spot is a MUST. When we arrived, I realized the location used to be the old Hong Kong Supermarket -- only longtime locals would probably remember that. The layout inside was pretty interesting. There was a Te'amos milk tea shop in the middle, Lao Szechuan on the right, and the hot pot & BBQ restaurant on the left. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly helped us get seated. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. The food came out surprisingly fast, and they even used robots to deliver dishes to the table, which was smooth and efficient. For hot pot, my personal favorites were the fatty beef slices, lamb, beef tripe, black tripe, tofu skin rolls, squid flowers, enoki mushrooms, corn, lotus root slices, kelp knots, fish balls, and beef tendon balls. Everything tasted great with the broth and my favorite sesame dipping sauce. On the BBQ side, the standout items for me were the cumin lamb, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, short ribs, and squid. We weren't exactly BBQ experts, so some meats weren't cooked perfectly, but the flavor was still really enjoyable -- and the best part was that you could keep ordering as much as you wanted. Honestly, for around $40 per person, it felt like a very good value. My parents both thought it was worth the price. We left full and satisfied, and the service was always attentive whenever we needed something. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Mother's Day meal, and I'd definitely come back again with friends next time.

Food: 3.5/5 there is a Kanpai near my hometown that was more 4/5, so I thought I would get a similar experience here, but their hot food bar had barely warm food and not as many options. Tables have spots for individual pots, and the BBQ grill is shared. The Tom Yum broth itself was good. Meat quality was up to par. Vegetables could have been fresher. For anyone with allergies: the sauce bar had a thoroughly written out allergy table and was clean, which was a plus. Drinks: Mai Tai was actually pretty good, and this is coming from someone that typically sticks with a beer. Sapporo is available on draft! Service/cleanliness: 3/5 the host sat us, a party of 3, down at a table meant for 6, which was interesting. We were quite literally one of 2 parties there, and only one other couple showed up while we dined. Our table was also the only table that had a grill with browned oil that came from who knows where. We had it changed to a clean one, but when we were handed the tablet to order, this was also covered in grease/oil. The bathrooms and sauce bar were clean, but at the table I was not satisfied. The server herself was very nice and explained the AYCE experience well. Ambiance: quiet music in the background, plenty of tables that could sit 4, 6, and 8.
