I thought this place was a mirage.... I am thinking of moving to Bushwick and as I was riding around the neighborhood and stumbled upon it. the space is soooooo gorgeous and nice to be in, the gal at the bar was incredibly kind and let me try all kinds of things. I bought a bottle of mead for my family and everything about it is so beautiful and considered. not to mention, the drinks were DIVINE... a martini made with salt water and foraged olives?!?!?!?! I'm itching to go back when I finally get settled, this place is going to be my new HQ. read more

So the waiter was nice. Nice enough to direct us to the tables. The first drink we had was the Cava, mmmeeehh, if you like bubbly wine ok great. Similar to a light commercial beer to me. Next up, Harvest Moon, reminded me of a caribbean orange solo soft drink minus the load of sugar. Sent that back in exchange for the Polaris, soft white wine. Did the job, enough to redeem the previous two drinks. The menu looks appetizing, sounds appetizing, reads appeti, we ordered the Pasta, the one with lavender and the jury is in. Not worth it. On a work trip to NYC, I decided to venture out to Bushwick to check this spot out. After a quick taxi ride across the bridge I got to Honey's and it seemed like they were having a party there or something. Lots of people, good music and a beautiful bar with gorgeous design. Even though the bar was swamped, I got a drink in just a few minutes. I tried a Mezcal cocktail that was smoky and smooth. Then I asked a bartender about the mead and she gave me a bunch of free tastings! I was surprised by how dry it tasted and nuanced the herbal and berry flavors were. I wish I lived in NYC so I could frequent this place. A real gem. Will definitely recommend. P.S. The popcorn is insane! Sooooo good! read more

The drinks were kind of weak but tasty. At first I was frustrated because someone I didn't know ordered on my bar tab. I only noticed the next morning, but they happily refunded the drinks I didn't order. All in all a fun place with a good atmosphere. read more

This place is so headass & pretentious. All the food is fermented and they only have "mead" on tap. What ever happened to nachos and big pretzels as bar food? They also glared at my friend when she asked for a vodka and coke and said that they don't serve soda. Please get over yourselves. read more

The first hint that I was in for a bumpy ride was the bartender tossing me a menu after I tried to get her advice on what drink to order. Ordinarily, at a busy bar I'd dismiss that, but the bar was relatively empty at this point. Before I could even get out what I liked in my drink she silently put the menu in front of me as if to say 'figure it out'. Saw her do this to a number of people and they appeared taken aback too. Fast forward to later in the night as the bar got crowded. I attempted to get her attention and she literally told me off for yelling at her. I am a very self aware person, and would never speak to a bartender or anyone in a disrespectful way. Taken aback and embarrassed I apologized to her, at which point she got in front of me and proceeded to ignore me in the most puzzling rude way. Her vibes were so bad other patrons remarked on it to me. She was a blonde with a short 'can I speak to the manager' hair cut and her unnecessarily bad attitude almost ruined my night. Just found this place while walking around my neighborhood and it was such a sweet spot! Omg. The bartender was amazing!!!! It was my birthday and we came in last minute before the kitchen was closing. He got our orders in, got all our drinks, gave us bday shots. He was kind and somehow managed all the customers with so much grace and patience. I really appreciate his kindness. We ordered the mazemen. IT WAS AMAZING. The drinks were very unique and delicious. I ordered delivery of a couple of bottles of mead and assorted other items during the coronavirus shutdown (I saw the menu advertised on instagram and figured - why not, despite never having been to the physical location before). These guys could not have been more friendly. They took my order over the phone (total piece of cake), and delivered the goods that very night. The hand-off was easy, and everything went to plan. Will definitely do business with Honey's again (either in-person or another delivery depending on how long my current mead stash lasts and how long the shutdown continues). Fermentation is my jam and honey's has much to offer. Meads, natural wines, pickled goodies. Loving the new food menu. Get the ricotta it's heavenly as are the pickled eggs. Vegan options for my bestie also a plus. A menu that feels cool and tastes dope. read more

I went to this bar last night. Music was terrible and drinks were fine. I checked my receipt this morning and they charged me double for the tips. I ordered 4 drinks and gave $4, drinks had to be ordered and picked up at the counter... Guess what? They charged me $8,20 in tips!! I will dispute it with my bank. read more

Delicious varieties of mead, beautiful space. A little difficult to get to, but absolutely worth the stroll.

This is by far my favorite new bar in Brooklyn. The level of creativity that goes into both the mead (crafted in the back room with materials foraged from the surrounding area) and the cocktails (impeccably detailed and well thought out) is outstanding. For ambiance, the place is minimal, but not to the point that it feels "cold" or unwelcoming. The crowd, for a place that's generally filled with artists, is always super welcoming and if you catch it on the right night you'll find yourself in a Peaches dance party in the winery. It's worth the 5 minute walk from the Jefferson L stop to come check it out! I'll be coming back many times for sure. read more

My friends and I came across this gem as we were leaving the Friday night show for Fashion Week Brooklyn around the corner. Great space. We found a spot in the corner and ordered some drinks. We were quite amused when we realized we were sipping though a bucatini noodle as a straw. We struck up a conversation with the owner and he admitted it was a temporary solution to a lack of straws behind the bar. But we thought it was creative and fun! Then he returned with a complimentary bowl of their popcorn. We might have just been hungry, but we were blown away. Smoky, cheesy, sweet, spicy are just some of the flavors I could put my finger on. It was tasty as ****! They specialize in mead and one of the guys behind the bar was all too excited to get us someone more experienced to tell us more. From there we experienced a full blown lesson and tasting session. I picked the Night Eyes, a fragrant and bubbly version, much like prosecco, to take home. The bar team was fully engaged, even as the crowd got bigger. Everyone was so attentive and they seemed genuinely happy to have our business. Good times! read more

the best bar in brooklyn - popcorn is out of this world

I love the whole experience, walking the few blocks from the Jefferson stop on the L to the pink neon sign above the door and entering the golden space where there's soft music and soft lighting and warm wooden seats and delicious things to drink. The experience is comfortable and convivial, the bar tenders are attentive and generous, the popcorn is great and the delicious and unusual tastes of the meads and cocktails--all of it makes me grateful that such a place exists. read more
