I came here for brunch with a friend of mine on a weekend. It wasn't too busy, and we got our food pretty quickly. You have the option to either customize your meal, or go with a pre-customized meal. A large part of this wonderful experience was because of an employee named Gwen who met me at the door and greetes me with a smile. She then proceeded to walk me through the ordering process. Soooo I might have aged out of the ability to like this place. First the screen situation for ordering was utterly annoying. It's not the most economical to order my food as if at a gas station. Second why is there no decrease if you don't eat protein. Next they are soooo super slow, I mean like really slow and unorganized. Told it would be ready 7:06, waited until 7:25, the cashier would not acknowledge me to ask until I basically had to yell. I will never order from here again. They only get it right if you eat in because then the customer sees it right away. I've ordered the same thing four times: one to stay, one to go and two on an app. The only time I got the order how I requested (with extra sauce) is when I ate in the restaurant. It sucks to eat dry noodles with no sauce, which is what they've given me 2/3 times that I've had it to go, the other time was just a drop of sauce. It's nice to have a fresh, made to order place near campus that offers something different than pizza and sandwiches. But don't go around noon if you're looking for something quick to grab and go. I went in during a lunch hour and it took much longer than I thought it should to get my order. I ordered the red coconut curry, and it was more coconut and hardly any curry. There was also an imbalance of the ingredients, too many noodles and jalapenos, and not enough of the other good stuff! So far I have been here twice, and I have enjoyed it both times. I'm very happy that we have this option in Charles Village. Some initial thoughts: 1. I like how you order at a touch screen and then wait for your number to be called to get your food. Yes, sometimes it is nice to have human interaction, but sometimes it is nice to see what all of your options are, and make edits to your order without having to tell someone all of your crazy changes :) The touchscreen allows you to explore the menu and very easily add and remove toppings from your chosen item. I am a fan! 2. I had salads both times. I loved the roasted wheat berry salad and I added chicken. The Walnut St. Noodle was just OK. I added tofu and goat cheese and it was a little dry. I was missing the first salad. 3. Salad portions are huge! :) 4. The goat cheese is stellar! Add it to everything. 5. The first time I sprung for the $.45 piece of bread. Was sad to find it stale and very hard. I think they can work on this. I have yet to try a stirfry. They seem to take way longer during crowded times than the salads. read more

The eagerly anticipated Honeygrow is finally open, and it seems to be quite popular already. Everything is undeniably fresh, and though both meals we tried here were good, they weren't amazing. There are a lot of vegetable choices that might add more variety here and I'd love to see them get added in the future, but for now both stir fries I've sampled were pretty good. The spicy garlic was spicy but didn't really have enough garlic flavor to deliver the balance I wanted - and they also forgot to add the three extra toppings I'd paid for (pickled cucumbers, fried shallots, sesame seeds) which I think might have balanced the flavor well. I visited again and they comped the meal because of the incorrect earlier order, and tried the sesame garlic which was definitely a more flavorful option. It's actually a pretty big portion of stir fry, and very filling if you get the right protein, and though it's a little pricier than we'd expected, it's pretty good! I'll try a few more times to perfect my order, and hope they add more vegetables too! read more

AMAZING! We walked in at 9:40 and the staff was pleasant and welcomed our service even though they were closing soon. The space is beautiful and very clean. You use computer screens to order which is confusing if you have never been there before, but the staff is willing to help and answer questions. We only waited 5 minutes for our food and it was soooooo yummy. We made our own noodle bowl and added the sesame garlic sauce. We will definitely be coming back. It would be awesome if they had a rewards program. College/ grad students love deals!!! In short, we will be visiting again ASAP. read more

I am so happy honeygrow is finally open. Now I don't have to drive all the way to canton when I want salad takeout. I thought the caravan salad was really good, I especially loved the tea soaked raisins. The stir fry is also really good. I had the red coconut curry, husband had the sweet soy five spice, and we both loved our meals. We found that the portion sizes and prices were average for this kind of restaurant. I love honeygrow. I've been to this location a couple times because my family owns a couple of properties around this area and I always like to come by this location and support this business. I'm was an avid patron of their location in North Wilmington, DE located right after the PA and DE border and it was 15 min. from the college I attended - Cheyney University. Overall, the food is always fresh and delicious at both this location and the one in DE. I also love the fact that you can get vegetarian based options or a stir fry with whole wheat noodles mixed in with some turkey, chicken, or tofu. As I was looking for reviews on this location, it seems like people might be frustrated with the wait times but the restaurant does have an app that lets you place an order and lets you pickup your food so just be mindful of that because this location is in a big college town and college kids do get hungry from time to time so you don't want to get stuck in a long line during midterms or finals szn. read more

Food was decent. I had the sour cherry bbq sauced noodles - flavor was generic. My husband had the curry, which was better. Compared to other places with customizable meals, this one provides a healthier (smaller) portion. Wish they offered more than 3 veggies as the part of the standard meal. Using the electronic ordering was nice but took a while and we did mess up our own order, however, staff was great in remaking our food. Will return to try other options. We went here for lunch after a college visit. We were looking for a light and tasting lunch. Gwen, an employee, gave us pointers on how to order since it was our first time. While we were finishing up our order, she checked in on us to make sure we were doing ok. Our spicy garlic came piping hot and was delicious! We added crushed red pepper to make it even spicier. The cobb salad was filled to the top of the bowl. At first glance, it looked like it was all lettuce, but as we dug in deeper we found a variety of ingredients blended well throughout the salad bowl. The viniagrette that the salad is originally paired with was light. We have been to many restaurants where the salad is spoiled by too much dressing. The green tea was refreshing! Gwen came by to check to see how we were enjoying our meal. Our goal for a light and tasty lunch was met. Service and lunch was excellent! read more

Typically I have great service when there but today was an absolute disaster! I ordered one entree on grub hub and requested to pick it up as the designated time. I spoke to a British woman who said they don't have my order yet... Stand there waiting for an additional 30 minutes. She looked at both my text and email to confirm it was correct and they said they can't make my order until they get it they grub hub and she can't help me, call grub hub. I wound up cancelling the order with grub hub and ordering there. The worst part was my order couldn't have been more wrong! Left really upset and disappointed. Work on your service! read more

Wow! Tastes so good and healthy too! Last night was our first time to try Honeygrow and we loved it! First of all, the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful; their enthusiasm was contagious. Now, on to the food. We ordered a Spicy Garlic and a Sour Cherry BBQ, each with some slight modifications. and a Winter Harvest Salad. All of this was a carryout order. My husband and I split the two stir fry dishes and we devoured them! The mingling of flavors was fantastic; the vegetables were still crisp and crunchy and flavorful, while the roast pork in the BBQ was some of the best roast pork that I have ever had and the chicken in the Spicy Garlic was delicious and perfectly done too. For me, the best part was that I am a yin/yang, sweet/savory eater and this meal really satisfied all of my cravings. In fact, my appetite was so sated that I didn't crave, nor did I even eat dessert! Now for me, that is an incredibly satisfying meal! The line at Honeygrow never fails to brighten my day. After class, I can walk down the street and jump right into line at Honeygrow. The food and service are great, sure, but let's be honest, nothing compares to a really great line if you're waiting for your lunch. There are nice little arrows to point you in the direction you are supposed to go and an elegant, but minimalistic stanchion to direct traffic. The restaurant is well air-conditioned and the cool, simple decor makes for a pleasant visual and sensational experience. Usually the lines go very fast, and end with four kiosks where you can order your food without any human contact.
