This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant, it was near lunchtime on a Friday. I have been wanting to come back to HG for a long time. I was totally captivated by the egg white noodles. I love this choose or make your own salad place. You can self order your salad however you like it. How convenient right?! Sometimes it's not a good thing because a brownie made to my order mysteriously. I chose Greek salad for $16. The portion was pretty generous. But I managed to finish the big bowl. The friendly fellow at the counter who was calling out the orders was outstanding. I think he was some kind of a manager or a leader. He made sure his teams were appreciated ever so often as I was waiting for my order. He was shouting out "good job team." I wish every work place was like this where love and kindness are displayed. honey grow is just OK. This was my first time visiting the chain and I'm not sure I would come back. Like &pizza, chipotle, and THB would have to be closed for me to come back. And I don't even like THB. Okay so I'm here with my dad and sister. Dad orders steak salad, sister ordered seasonal crab stir fry, I ordered spicy garlic. Dad liked his salad. Employee kind of made a fuss when I asked for different dressing. Brought up changing it on the kiosk. Seeing that I already have the salad, we're past the point of changing anything the kiosk. Didn't realize it took that much effort to pour new dressing in a cup. Sister said her stir fry was bland and lukewarm. I hated the chicken in my stir fry. the short - I'm not gonna lie, when I got my takeout order and I saw the packaging, I was peeved because I thought I didn't get much food. But, as it turns out, I don't understand spatial perspective and I was pleasantly surprised how much can fit into the little takeout containers. I've been to a couple locations in MD and another in Delaware and they have never disappointed me. I think the prices are fair, the ingredients are fresh, and I enjoy all the options they have. Each location I've been to has been clean and the employees have been kind to both me and my son. Seafood is one thing that I wouldn't normally eat at a fast casual spot, but I've had shrimp here a few times and been satisfied with it. I'm not who goes crazy over chains but I thought I'd go out on a limb and give honeygrow a try. I ordered online for pickup through their website. It was a pretty easy process and my order was ready within 10/15 minutes. I got the Spicy Garlic bowl with roasted chicken, carrots, edamame, broccoli, scallions, fresh lime, cilantro, and the spicy garlic sauce. I like how they have a few pre-made bowls but you can also create your own. Even with the pre-made bowls you can sub out certain toppings at no extra cost which actually seems to be a little more cost effective than the create your own bowl option. I also ordered The Cobbler which is made with maple yogurt, apples, roasted apples, streusel crumble, and whipped cream. I added some clover honey on this one too! When I got my order, I was a little surprised with the size of the bag and was worried I paid good money for a small portion. The Cobbler was a little smaller than I had hoped for the price of $7 (not to mention they forgot the honey), but it was DELICIOUS! I seriously could not get enough. The combination of the creamy maple yogurt and the crunchy apples and streusel crumbles was just amazing. It was like ice cream except healthier. The stir fry ended up being a pretty generous size - enough for two moderately sized portions. The sauce was delightfully spicy and the veggies tasted fresh. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this was for being a chain! Hands-down one of my favorite Baltimore spots, I am so glad they have two locations. Not only do they have a delicious menu from which you can select a noodle bowl but you can also customize it entirely to your liking. They are so filling and delicious. You do order on the computer screen when you get there, and I definitely recommend you join the loyalty program so you can get a free dessert during your birthday month. I always get the egg noodles because they are my favorite but they also have other options for those who do not like noodles. My favorite thing to do is choose from the menu and then customize that bowl by adding toppings and sauces that I think will enhance the overall taste and give me a unique experience every time. So I finally tried honeygrow since my aunt rants and raves about this place. We DoorDashed them because if I'm being honest we are super lazy. Anyway, our order came way ahead of schedule and was actually correct. A few things I didn't love was the price. I mean the portion was a decent size and it was quite tasty but I admit it cost a lot of money for the small amount we ordered. I would have loved a little more protien as my noodle to protien ratio was a little off. My wife paid for extra protien and instead of giving two portions they just gave her half of both which in my opinion seems a bit dishonest. I also purchased the apple pie dessert which was not worth the money at all. I would never try again even for free. I would definitely eat again, I just will be sure not to DoorDash because that made their already slightly expensive prices outrageous. I keep it pretty simple with the sesame garlic whole wheat noodle bowl with cashews and beef. I am gonna try the other options such as the salads. Great place for ordering for lunch, and they have an app as well. During the pandemic the app is very useful, you can order and and pay for your food through the app, they have a section of the restaurant where you can just come and pick up your order. I got kale, onions, strawberries, tomatoes, avocado, onions and fried onions with a side of vinagarette. My salad was ok. I wouldve liked a larger portion and the kale was a little rough. Quick note: They go REALLY heavy handed with the spice. So don't get any of their spicy dishes if you're not a big fan of spiciness. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Stir Fry. Usually with spicy dishes, you can feel the impact of the spice after a few bites and it starts creeping up on you. With this bowl, the spiciness pretty much packed a punch on my tongue right from the very first bite. Of course, this is really only based on preference, but from the first bite I also noticed that the noodles were a bit under cooked and clumps were stuck together, so I would get a couple bites of noodles stuck together that were a bit more doughy than I think it should be. As far as taste though, even through the sucker punch of the spiciness slowly making my tongue numb, it still tasted pretty good. I think if it were less spicy I would have liked it a lot. There was a nice mix of chicken, green bell peppers, broccoli, and red onions. I don't think there was too much of anything. However, I don't think I got any pineapples at all, which I didn't know was even supposed to be in the bowl until I looked at the menu again. They make everything to order, so it's going to take a while for your food to be ready. Don't come here if you're in a rush, because there will probably be at least 10 numbers in front of yours waiting for their orders as well. Seating can also be a nightmare as well, at least when we went. I wish that I was staying around long enough to try this place again, so that I could order some of their non spicy dishes to see if they're any better. Honeygrow is located conveniently next to the Hopkins Homewood campus. It provides a healthy, guilt-free alternative to any meal plan food. Most of their food is locally sourced, too! I was honestly so surprised by how good honeygrow was. I was kind of expecting something that was more healthy than it was tasty, but when I ate a bite, I immediately fell in love. I got the sesame garlic stir fry with mushrooms, red onions, and edamame, over brown rice. It was PHENOMENAL. I was so hungry and was pleasantly surprised by how filling it was. The self-service at the counter is a nice feature, and the wait was only 5-10 minutes on a Sunday around dinner time. I can't comment much on the service. I used to go to Honeygrow a lot, but they've been slipping. Today is my last time going. I got the sweet soy five spice with turkey and it was not good. The sauce recipe seems to have changed and is far too sweet now, the turkey meatballs simply aren't as good as the ground turkey used to be, and the portion size has shrunk considerably all while the price has almost doubled.
