    So good.

This location is inside pmall. They are also on ubereats. I order through ubereats. So ubereats price. They have special price (half off) on the minced pork rice ($5 from $10), minced park noodles ($5 from $10), the chicken skewer ($2.5 from $5), and a drink which I didn't order. I also ordered the cheese pork chop $10 (2 pcs) and popcorn chicken ($9). Basically the three stars are all for the cheese pork chop and maybe a bit for the minced pork rice. 1) minced pork rice. It's average. Nothing special, comes with a whole egg and some pickled cucumber and turnip. For $10 regular price, I guess it's ok but for $5 it's very fair and reasonable. 2) minced pork noodles. I choose ramen over rice noodles. It's actually a noodle soup. The packaging separate the ramen and the noodles. But the noodles is still too soft and mushy. And even after stirring in the soup, it still clumps together. Kinda gross. The soup is very flavorful though, like the raised beef noodles that kinda of soup. One thing however is there's quite a bit of whole pepper corn which isn't pleasant when bit into it. 3) popcorn chicken. I don't think they even reheat or refry it. It's dry and hard. Fail. The other food was fairly warm so I don't believe it's the time. The seasoning was ok though. 4) chicken skewer. They gave us an extra one(?) but it's also dry... and seasoning was alright, a bit of cumin. 5) cheese pork chop! $10 2 pieces. Mine was thick but it isn't dry at all! It's warm and the cheese (slice cheese) kept oozing out. The pork is also well seasoned and flavorful. The crust is also very crunchy. Really can't find anything bad about it. Must order.

Located right inside the 2nd floor of Pacific Mall, this is one of the many food stalls. Honey Bear serves a variety of snacks including some of my favourites which I tried out. We ordered the Taiwan style stinky tofu, takoyaki / octopus balls, and also the Taiwan style popcorn chicken. They have their own small seating area at the back if you'd like, as opposed to some other food stalls. The stinky tofu was fried quite nicely and each piece was actually more thinly cut than usual. It wasn't stinky and did not have that legit stinky tofu taste, but the sauce was still good and spicy side. As for the octopus balls, those were good but not great. It was stuffed with few octopus bits and outer texture was crunchy. Same with the popcorn chicken, the spices fit a Taiwanese style, but the overall flavour was average.

I kind of feeling sorry for Honey Bear. Maintaining a Taiwanese BBT and food drinks inside Pacific Mall is never easy with all these competition is not easy. And Honey Bear is at a serious disadvantage with its location inside P Mall. Located in the far end inside the "Heritage" area of P Mall. It is not the most convenient location for people just to get a bubble tea. And before getting there, you might have walked passed over 10+ other bbt places. There are quite a good selections of drink and even snacks. $5 tax in for both of our drinks which is on special. I did enjoy my Kiwi Slush and my friend's Honey Aloe was decent too. And they even have Durian milkshakes and ice. It is definitely nice to have a separate seating area from the main area but the place was just filthy! The floor was so sticky and tables so dirty when it was not even busy?! Maybe a bear with its jar of honey just came for some BBT?

Taiwan style mince pork on rice and Taiwan style beef ramen

Ordered takeout from here through an external ordering app (FOOD ON DELIVERY (F.O.D.)) and my order was prepared quite quickly. I ordered two things the Taiwan style beef ramen and the Taiwan style mince pork on rice. I really liked how the Taiwan style mince pork came with two spring rolls which were pretty good. The mince pork was surprisingly sweet which was a little too sweet on my end but it was still enjoyable. What I was amazed about was the set up of the Taiwan style beef ramen where the bottom of the take out container held the soup while the top had a separated container to have the noodles and beef. This made it so I could dump the noodles when it arrived into the soup without it staying in the broth for too long. I did however wish there was more beef with the beef ramen as I found it lacking a bit in the ratio in the end. The soup broth also had a bit of a mala taste to it which was interesting. Overall I did enjoy the food and I think I will order again as the these two dishes were enough to portion for three people for a quick lunch.

    Sweet.

I have been meaning to try this place for a while, and I finally did today. I was only able to get one item though but I will be coming back for more next time. I ordered their Taiwanese sausages for $4.50. I found them surprisingly sweet and tasty. Wait time for food was a bit on the long side, but I guess it was worth it. Would come back to try other items. They have quite a large selection of snacks and drinks. Review 54 of 100

Honey Bear inside Pacific Mall. Taiwanese eats.
    Leon L.

Excellent place and a hidden gem in the food court of the Pacific Mall. It is a good choice for light Taiwanese snacks. They have lots of goodies that you would want to eat. Can be hard to find seating at times. But be patient and you should find seats opening up. I saw other people eating food from this stall and it caught my attention. Food is excellent. You will enjoy it.

Guess who's back, Back again I am back! With a friend (ok..well boyfriend). This has become our favourite munchie spot whenever we feel too poor and lazy to go all the way to Guu. They have tons of delicious snacks ranging from $2-$7? How amazing is that?! I highly recommend: - Popcorn Chicken (so soft and juicy) - BBQ Tornado potato (hit or miss. Sometimes they make it really good with a lot of seasoning, but sometimes it's undercooked and comes with barely any seasoning) - Takoyaki (decent) - Watermelon juice (always fresh and sweet) So this weekend they added a new addition to their menu! Finally! Fried squid!! Oh boy oh boy! It's hugeee. Reminds me of the one at CNE and I remember it was reeeeeally good. Unfortunately, Honey Bear's did not even come close to the one at CNE. I was so sad! You can see the oil dripping right out onto the plate, the batter was not crisp enough nor did it stick to the squid. It fell right off after the first bite. On top of that, there was some weird spice in the squid. I didn't like it too much. But you know what? I'll still order this the next time I'm craving for some fried squid. Because where else am I going to find this around here?! Please please please start making blooming onions too!

Really small taiwanese food and drink stall. Have been here twice. The fried twist potato stick is really good. I've tried original, bbq and spicy, they're all good and are now only $2 each. Original price was $3.50 but i don't think they are worth that price. The drinks are ok, they are only $2 for small, $3 for med and $4 for large. Tapioca and jelly are an extra 50c. The staff are pleasant and friendly. Not tried the rice bowls because we have always eaten before we come here. And seating is really limited too. Better to grab something and walk around.

Huge size. Typical bbt joint. But bubble tea is super sweet even I tell them I want minimal syrup.... I can't taste the tea feeling yet I taste pure sugar in my mouth. Flop. 2 star for service

For me, the drink itself is about 4/5 (barley milk tea), but my overall experience is what brings this up to a 5. When I walked in, I was greeted with the staff there who were very friendly. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I had stepped aside to look at the menu. They noticed and didn't pressure me in taking my order, but instead asked if I had any questions and had let me smell the tea leaves. For a more upscale bubble tea store, I appreciated that very much. I ended up getting the barley milk tea, and the flavour did not disappoint. The barley taste definitely came through, and it wasn't too sweet. Note: for sweetness level, get one lower than what you normally get. Trust me :) Overall I would come back when I'm in the area and craving for bubble tea to try other drinks. The only negative is that I wished they had barley as a topping, but overall the topping upcharge is pretty expensive than average. But recommend to give this place a try!

First impressions, the store is clean and neat with all the teas out for display and all the employees working seamlessly to fulfil orders. I ordered one of their recommended teas, the Oolong Ding Dong Tea latte and I really enjoyed it. The tea was strong and was balanced so well by the fresh milk. The only downside for me is it only comes in one size! The pricing is a little on the more expensive side since it does only come in the small size as well so I can't feel justified getting Chicha San Chen too often. But I do see why they won all their awards! Try it out, you won't regret it if you like a strong and balanced milk tea flavour.

I was craving my usual from Bourbon St. Grill and hit the food court. While heading downstairs after walking through mall entrance 3, I saw this Chicha San Chen store. I flagged it for a visit. After having a satisfying, casual meal at the food court, I returned to the second floor and walked over here to check out the drinks. It was almost as if this store knew that I like fruit and sparkling drinks. I saw a sign that said I could get two sparkling fruit drinks for $10. Three words: Sign me up! I got Kinson at the ordering area. He was great stepping me through everything. I let him know that this promotion interested me. He asked if I wanted one of each fruit flavour. Yes! My order consisted of the following: - Sparkling orange - Sparkling peach Each drink contains fruit, sparkling water, and konjac. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and I was done. He let me know that it wouldn't take long for my drinks to be made. The wait time wasn't much. The seating area had just cleared, so I could take photos of the branded throw pillows, various decorated bear figures holding tea cups in slings, and a wall celebrating a hundred years of tea love. It's my kind of tea joint. I stood next to looseleaf teas in mini containers. I smelled a number of them as I waited. They were so fragrant that I didn't want to leave! I love smelling these teas: - Cassia black - Dong ding oolong - Green - Black - Osmanthus oolong - High mountain pouchong My drinks came in one size. It seemed to be the case for all drinks on the menu. I like that you can customize your drink. There's a menu that steps you through it, from the type of tea that you want brewed, to the flavours and toppings that you want in it. If you find this method to be too complicated, it does have popular teas that are already configured, so you don't have to. I liked that I didn't have to fuss with my order. It was exactly what I wanted. My receipt had a number on it. Their system has an automated voice that calls out your order number. it was a nice change of pace. I could clearly hear my order number called out. I'm sure staff were happy to save their vocal cords, too. My drinks were on the counter. You can help yourself to a tray, which I did. My drinks looked good. What I should have done was sipped both before walking to my car. This place was so generous with the pour that my drinks were topped to the brim. One of my drinks did spill out a bit as I was about to go through the doors. Oops. I stopped to sip both of them. I was good! I got to my car and safely put my drinks down in my caddy. Just from sipping them, I loved the flavours so much. The orange one had slices of orange and chewy konjac. It was slightly sweet and fizzy. It was cheerful to drink. I had the orange slices, minus the peel, of course. Yum! The peach drink was equally as awesome. It was bubbly, with generous chunks of peach and konjac. It was fruity and chewy. So good! Both were so refreshing on a hot July evening. I'm glad that I got two drinks. I enjoyed my first two drinks from this tea place. I'll be back for more! (301)

You must use the kiosk. - This place is on Fantuan, but doesn't offer the full drink menu that you see in the store. - Most drinks are regular in size. Only a handful are large. Last Monday, after work, I was in downtown Markham. I was driving up Birchmount Avenue, just before Highway 7. I pulled into a parking spot on the street. It was my first time parking here. I thought that I'd check out the businesses and remembered Machi Machi. You can also park in the plaza. Machi Machi is across from Panera Bread. There's lot of parking. It was the last bubble tea store in downtown Markham that I had yet to visit. It was time. The store has a couple of steps to get to the door that faces Birchmount Avenue. It also has a ramp. I took the steps going in. There is no hand rail. I left using the ramp, which seemed spacious enough for a wheelchair. I entered the store. There were two folks ahead of me at the kiosk to place orders. No one was behind the counter taking orders, so your kiosk is your best bet. There was a group of four folks waiting for their orders next to us. I also saw seating off to the right and left. They are limited. You get three seats on either side of the order area. I was order number 29 with these items: - Fizzy plum green tea (fixed sugar and ice) - Coconut lime strawberry smoothie (light sugar and fixed ice) Both were regular in size. There are few drinks that are large. Customizations aren't as flexible as other bubble tea places. They are my reasons why this place doesn't get a five-star review. It was such a nice day outside that due to demand for cold drinks here, it took long to get my drinks. The woman in front of me decided to go outside. It was weird to me. If I had a drink waiting for me and I'm a party of one, I'd be inside the store, waiting for my number to be called. Sure enough, order number 28 was called. I said that I was number 29 when the woman looked at me. I was standing by the glass window. It's all glass, which was nice seeing the sunshine come in, but it also heated up the place. I lightly tapped on the glass. Number 28 heard me. I pointed to her to come inside. She did. This woman was extremely introverted. She got to the counter and didn't say a thing. I went around and got the attention of a nice female staffer. I said that 28 was here. She nodded and got 28's drink. 28 was happy. Both thanked me. It was my good deed of the day. My order was ready. My good deed helped. The female staffer asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes. I got it for free. I thanked her and left with my bag of drinks and straws. I immediately had the fizzy plum green tea. I love fizzy drinks. This one was awesome. The plum flavour was excellent with the green tea. It was refreshing, fizzy, and perfect. I drank it as I drove to fetch some takeout before heading home. I had the coconut lime strawberry smoothie after dinner. It tasted tropical and delicious. The flavours were so good. Excellent! I'd get both drinks again. I'd also love to try more items on the menu. I had a wonderful first experience here. (166)
