This was my go to place for easy Taiwanese food without too much of a wait. I haven't been back for a while and decided to eat here. There's a variety of dishes to choose from- noodles, rice, appetizers and combo deals. We ordered 2 combos which came with a main, an appetizer, soup and dessert and a drink. We had the braised beef noodles with green tea noodles, popcorn chicken, minced pork and sausage & egg on rice and chose the steamed egg and wanton soup and fish ball soup for the two combos. Milk tea came with the combos and you can upgrade with toppings for additional cost. The portions are large and the taste was average but satisfied the cravings.
Our new favorite spot for set meal and bubble tea. The decoration and layout are very festival and make you feel happy and want to celebrate. The menu is very colorful, pleasant and easy to order. The service is not the best, kind of minimal, but we don't mind as we enjoy ourselves quite much just by sitting inside. There usually a line up after 6:00pm so we always try to be there earlier than 5:30. We have tried a few items on the menu. Overall, the food is average, service is ok, the interior is top notch.
I've never been to this location before, so I was surprised by how big it is on the inside. There is a large retail area for tea, and a very big area for the restaurant. We came for a late afternoon snack, and I ordered the apple tea with tapioca and some fried pork chop to munch on. The pork chop was soft and tender, and went wrong with the drink. The menu is extensive with many menu options, so it is easy to find something that you would want. A nice place to take a break.
I am really surprised by how big this restaurant is. And that it serves food. And that the menu offerings are extensive. At other Ten Ren's location i visited, it's more of a tea shop. So this is cool. They have a la cart items as well as special combo meals for $25.50. I ordered green tea ginseng chicken steamed tofu Taiwanese meat ball soup Jasmine tea jello Rice Salad Drink There were so much to choose from, and I will be going back again!!!
The OG location of Ten Ren's. I used to come here a lot during high school days. This place was absolutely RAMMED on Friday night when we visited recently, and it was loud af, so we also had to talk really loudly through the noise. It was also a bit hard to flag down servers, very friendly staff, but I know they are trying their best to serve everyone in a timely manner. I love how through all the chaos, the staff was still able to help me surprise my friend for her birthday lol. Food and drinks are always good; no complaint.

We all ordered the meal sets for $25.50 per person, which includes soup, a side dish, a main course, a drink and dessert: *Osmanthus Steamed Fish *Green Tea Ginseng Chicken *Crispy Fish Fillet *Taiwanese Basil Chicken It may not seem like much food, but it was filling. The service was efficient, although they did mix up our drinks, and the steamed egg on two of our combos was inconsistent (one was perfect, one was too runny). The mango yogurt pudding is one of the best I've had. The texture is perfect, not too jiggly or firm, and perfectly sweetened. The prices are a bit steep, but the overall experience was enjoyable. This location is a lively place in the evening & is fun place to get together with friends especially your girlfriends. The place is big, it is nicely decorated, the food is good and the service is decent for being such a busy place. They also let you bring in a birthday cake and will supply you with everything to serve & eat it. We always have a great time here. It's uptown, parking is free and there is always a parking space available.
We expected this Ten Ren's Tea to be a regular boba shop, but this location is a full sit-down service with food, tea, and other drinks. There were so many people here this past Sunday evening at 10:30 PM enjoying food and drinks. Our server was helpful and willing to share her favorite drinks. TT09 PU ERH TEA - 8.90 I was really full and wanted a traditional set to help digest food. I was able to get a sizable tea pot with a small tea cup on the side. Even after letting the tea steep for a few minutes, it was still extremely diluted. The color was there, but I felt like I was drinking hot water. Even after 20 or so minutes, the tea was still diluted but now with an over-steeped, astringent flavor. Not a fan, I would not recommend this given how expensive it was. My friends got some fun, fruity iced teas that they enjoyed with boba and other toppings. While they enjoyed it, they didn't think it was comparable to others they've had at a Ten Ren in Taiwan. Maybe the food here is better, but the drinks (especially the traditional tea) were not great.
Came on a weekday. There were a fair bit of customers, but we did not have to wait for a table. -- Taiwanese sausage with minced pork rice bowl with egg: very filling. It was a daily special so it came with your choice of drink (hot or cold). -- Taiwanese crispy chicken with minced pork rice bowl with egg: chicken was well seasoned. Does not automatically come with dipping sauce (have to ask for that). Very filling as well
Best bubble tea - hands down. If there is one bubble tea that is really based on tea quality and flavour, Ten Ren's Tea takes the spot. It's expensive, but worth the price point - especially their mango slush! Came for a super casual dinner and was very pleased with my mango passionfruit bubble tea. Like I said - hits the spot every time. This is a very low key bubble tea shop that also serves Taiwanese food. The traditional taiwanese rice bowl was my favourite. Paired with their popcorn chicken which is always also a must when getting anything from the Taiwanese cuisine. Portions are on the smaller side here with prices being slightly more expensive than what you'd expect (especially for the portion size). But something about this place was really good for me, perhaps the pure nostalgia I get when dining here from my childhood. The braised chicken dish that came in an individual hot pot was not my favourite but not too bad. Noodle soups were okay. Pan seared chicken with the mixed noodle was very delicious though. It's not my ideal place to dine at. But the bubble tea really is top notch.
The food is on the average size and tastes ok. It will probably leave you 80% full. We had the Dan Dan cutlet soup which tasted better the first time we had it. This time around it tasted more bland. We also ordered the crispy chicken and chicken cutlet from the appetizer selection. The crispy chicken tasted better and better sized portion than the chicken cutlet. The chicken cutlet was a pretty small portion and the breading was falling off. The service was good, and the place was a nice place to gather and chat with friends.
Great tea spot for food and drink! The tea-infused foods are truly a highlight and make their offings quite unique. Their tea foods are a must-try in my opinion! Their drinks all use high quality tea, but it's very no frills. It's your typical milk tea fare. The food is really the highlight in my opinion! They have an array of Taiwanese classics, but many come with tea infusions! I really recommend the iron goddess braised pork--its so good! The tea-infused foods are all super unique, I definitely recommend trying them! I want to try to make these at home but I feel like it may be a disaster waiting to happen. This is also an awesome spot to chill. Their location is very spacious and mildly busy (really depends on when you come).
I just wish there was a few more ten rens locations available because I love their bubble tea! The vibe is great, love the decor. It is a nice place to hang out. I came by and picked up a drink. I ordered a taro coconut slush which is their scorpio drink, it comes with tapioca and crystal boba. It is one of my go tos here. Will definitely be back for dine in in the future. read more
Food/refreshments - 4/5 Service - 4/5 Ambience - 4/5 It's one of our go to places for a group gathering for a tea or a snack, usually after a dinner. The refreshments menu is pretty big and there is something for everyone. This time we ordered the water ice shaved ice with green tea ice cream, red beans, tapioca boba and condensed milk. It was big enough to share. Each time we go we try to order something we hadn't previously. I already have a pic of my next order for my next visit. A friend had this mango slush I think it was and it looked delicious. read more

The matcha Taiwanese shaved ice was sooo good. You have a good selection of choices, up to 3, to choose from. The shaved ice came in an insulated tote bag where you can keep the shaved ice cold while commuting. read more

We had a chance to try out December horoscope (Sagittarius) drink -- Strawberry & Pineapple Slush with tapioca and Crystal boba at Ten Ren's tea (@tenrenstea). We loved how refreshing and fruity it was. Never thought strawberry would paired so well with pineapple. Also, we enjoyed the bounce in the mouth tapioca and aloe like textured crystal boba. Ordered the new guava drink series with jelly and my bf got the milk tea. I usually love guava, but this was way too sweet for my taste. Also ordered the milk tea, but that was sweet as well. The pricing for each drink were about $8+ each but for sure served in a tall glass. The inside of this place was pretty dead, we did go at night around 8pm though. They offer a variety of food. A sit down cafe version of Ten Rens? Sold. Tea time before flying back to NY was what I was looking for. Everytime when you hear Ten Rens back home, it just means a quick pit stop for a grab-and-go bubble tea or to buy a bulk of their specialty flavored tea bags. Here there were so many options ranging from desserts, soft serves, hot tea flavors, slushies, and your regular bubble tea. I got to sample each option and it was very fresh and citrusy. For pictures purposes it was nice to have an assortment of dessert options. This is what the owners of Ten arena probably wanted for their customers to experience. A large venue where you can savor your dessert which is exactly how I wanted it. Spacious cafe, beautiful decor, service was prompt and lots of options on the menu besides just bubble tea. read more
Ten Ren used to be my favourite place to have a chat with friends, or light and quick meal with families before Covid. But today when I brought my kids to here after a movie we found their menu changed, and serving kids meals so we ordered two kids meal and one combo for myself. Honestly my pork ribs were tasteless, and I asked additional salt. Kids meals are okay, but potions are very small. Totally for these we spent $56 , and I felt this is towards expensive end for what we ordered. You can get a much better meal at any HK tea/cafe . read more
Service was poor. We asked for the bill multiple times, and they kept forgetting. I also overheard them making negative comments about customers. Be careful of your interactions with them. The food was ok. The soup that came with the combo was a little bit salty. The chicken on the sizzling plate was not crispy. The noodles with xo sauce weren't spicy for me. The wonton soup was good. The steamed eggs were great. The fried vegetarian cutlet was OK. Reminds me of tofu skin. The spicy mayo sauce didn't really add to the dish. There was also a mango yogurt pudding (not pictured). Although small, it tasted really good. Also got tea infused eggs. It was OK, a little bit on the salter side. The ambiance of this location is OK - this is one of the bigger locations. It definitely has more seating areas. However, there are some blind spots for the servers (or maybe they are just inattentive). Overall, 2/5, I would only go back for the food. read more

If I'm being honest, the Ten Ren's on Highway 7 is waaaaaAAAaaaaay better than the one on Major Mackenzie. They have more menus, more (interesting and more in quantity) drinks and foods, and the space the establishment is in just feels more welcoming at the Highway 7 location overall. Given the choice between the two, I would never go to the one on Major Mackenzie! Now on to what I ordered.... If only I could find the menu I ordered from online but alas, I ordered from their lunch time specials so I guess I can only really describe to you what I ate.... [Satay Fried Fish Fillet w/Noodles in Soup] $??.?? - no idea on the price or the actual dish name. I, however, can undoubtedly recommend this set to anyone who lines satay flavor, fried fish, and noodles in soup! It was actually way more filling than I anticipated it to be especially because this dish was part of a lunch set. All I can say is, YUM. The fish was fried perfectly, the satay sauce screamed flavor in every way possible, and the noodles didn't soak up all of the soup despite the slow pace at which I was eating. [Three Set of Side Dishes] Free - well the side dishes are TECHNICALLY not free because it comes within the set. The first one is a green vegetable that is flavored in a salty manner. The second one is some sort of tofu skin that had a soy sauce-esque flavor to it that I very much enjoyed! I did not try the last one but it appears to be a mix of vegetables. [Salad] Free - well, the salad isn't TECHNICALLY free but it comes with the set. The salad was a pretty standard salad. It's a good amount of greens to go with the meal, in my opinion! [Soup] Free - also not TECHNICALLY free but was within the set! This was a rather salty soup but still a nice thing for them to throw in. [Iced Iron Goddess Milk Tea] Free - ALSO NOT TECHNICALLY FREE but it sure was a good drink to order! I typically would not have ordered this if it wasn't one of few drinks that you could choose from to come with your meal. Boy am I glad I ordered it but I'm still not 100% sure that's what I ordered. If only they had this lunch menu online, I would know for sure if they did! Overall, an excellent place to catch up with friends/family over a delicious meal, good drinks, and good service. read more

Paid my local Ten Ren a visit today to snatch two drinks from their Horoscope Series! For aries, they have the PEACH PINEAPPLE SLUSH (4.9 out of 5.0) and for taurus, they have the STRAWBERRY & BANANA SLUSH (4.8 out of 5.0), both served with tapioca and crystal boba. The thing I've always loved about Ten Ren is the quality of their goods (and so the price point matched that) and these two are nothing short of that! Though being slushes, they aren't overly ice-y but rather, full of fruit content to keep things flavorful. My personal favorite was the peach pineapple slush thanks to the uniqueness of the combination, as well as it's light and bright, refreshing palette; but the strawberry banana slush was also very well done. Both trend on the sweeter side, but still appropriate without any adjustments in my opinion. The tapioca was very QQ and the crystal boba really added some fun with its jello-like texture. In just one beverage, there's so much going on. It was my first time popping into this location and it's very spacious! I understand wanting to wall off most of the area to reduce what they have to clean, etc. But I feel like they should open up a little more room for customers as they wait for their drinks. The current allotment of space is very small and if a couple groups or pairs were to come in at one time, social distancing would be hard. Not to mention, drinks aren't pumped out very quickly so you know people will need to wait if they walk in to order. Otherwise, service was super friendly! read more

One of my favourite bubble tea spots for when I want a nice sit down, spacious restaurant to go to. I'm a big fan of their hot tea selection, especially their hot fruit teas because it's pretty hard to find hot fruity flavors at other bubble tea restaurants. I love the presentation of their hot tea options, which come in individual glass tea pots. My other three guests ordered bubble teas that were cold and I think they were pretty happy with them. Their large size definitely did not disappoint. I always forget how much I like their drinks and their atmosphere. The bathrooms could use a bit of an upgrade, but overall, I'm happy that it is still around! I'll be back again (: read more
It was a late Friday evening when my friend and I came looking for a cheap, quick bite to eat. We were seated quickly by the hostess. The last time I ate here was years ago for lunch. Immediately I noticed that it was chilly indoors and that the dining area darkly lit in comparison to retail section. In terms of service it was borderline okay. Our specials menu was taken from the table before we ordered. It was set aside but that didn't mean we weren't going to order off that menu. If you need anything try and flag down anyone, who's remotely, looking your way. There were many times where it took a while to get a server's attention. The food here is not cheap. Approximately $18+ for a meal or $8+ for a bowl of noodles. My friend was less then impressed with her noodles with intestines. She said it had no taste. I suppose the upside is that she's glad she didn't order a full meal for $18. My noodles were average but on the salty side. You're not given anything to drink; water, tea or otherwise. I figure they want you to purchase an expensive drink instead. One of the specials on the table says tea included with any purchase of noodles or rice, on the weekdays and I think 1 pm to close. Ask for your tea. The oolong tea with milk was bland and tasted watered down. My friend says the drinks are good but after this experience it's unlikely I'll be back anytime soon. read more

we frequented this establishment almost daily while we were in toronto. i have bought ten ren tea leaves for eons. there's only ten ren in flushing, queens, new york on the east coast. we didn't try their food but did try a variety of their hot and cold milk teas, all were really delicious. i bought a few canisters of tea to take back to the states with me - totally ok with department of agriculture, checked the TSA/homeland websites. tea is admissible. read more

This was my first time inside a Ten Ren's restaurant and my expectations weren't as high 'cause people kept telling me how I shouldn't order food from here buuut I still wanted to try it out. I got the mixed fruit waffle and mixed fruit tea (can you tell I really like my fruits? The tea smelled and tasted amazing! I would have preferred if it was place in a glass tea pot instead of ceramic though just so it would be prettier for pictures lol. The portion for the waffle was huge I had to share it with my friends. It came with 4 waffles, two choices of fruits (I opted for strawberry and banana), a swirl of Assam Black Tea soft serve and some sort of green tea mousse/whipped cream and everything blended so well together! I'd definitely get it again in the future!! I think my friend got the taro milk tea...? With tapioca and she enjoyed it. The price of the drinks here are a lot higher than in the malls where you just buy bubble tea and no food unfortunately. I got little to zero service...just someone taking the order, dropping off my food, and someone bringing over the bill. Needed a bite after our dental appointment nearby. Not bad. Nice and spacious inside. However...The first thing noted...The hostess seemed moody and not one smile was detected when we walked in. Not her day? Who knows? But the server seemed okay to us. Food and drink? Okay I guess. Could be more flavouring required for the food though. My honey lemon aloe iced drink was a bit on the super sweet side but I did enjoy it since I love the texture of aloe in my mouth. The Taiwanese-style fried chicken or even the wings were okay fried but could have used more flavouring or spice. The oyster egg omelette...A bit on the bland side but still okay. Better than the ones you acquire at those street food fests. So once again...Not a bad place to 'chill' on a hot day with a nice iced beverage or even a pleasurable hot cup of tasty tea! read more
We had the Mixed fruit waffle with ice cream, the green tea soup dumpling (xiaolongbao), and the taro milk tea. For 7.99 i thought i would be getting a refillable pot of milk tea but it was only a small personal sized pot with two teacups full. The price is comparable to Green Grottos 7.99 fruit teas which are refillable and i can enjoy many cups . The soup dumplings were 6.99 for 6, and well..they were alright.. I guess the main attraction of Ten Rens is that everything on the menu has some kind of tea in it, regardless savoury or sweet. The icecream fruit waffles were my favourite. The waffle was both crunchy and soft, and the vanilla icecream with matcha whipped cream complimented nicely. Came by for a drink the other day and it was lackluster. The highlight was an abundance of parking along with an air conditioned seating area... Service by the staff was confusing at best, despite being dressed in all black with their name tags. ...one of the waitresses was named "Drizzle" (...is that a joke?) Set menu is good. Include appetizer (sour veggie), main dish meat, carb, veggies, drink and small dessert. Overall they taste very good. It'll make you happy because you get to eat them in small portion and you get to try different food in one night. The drink tastes a lot better than other bubble tea place. Guess it's because they use real tea. As a hungry lady I almost finish the whole set dinner combo. Very full and satisfied. Will come back again The only reason I rate it 4 stars is the price. My combo was $20.99 before tax. If you order just a rice or a noodles, it'll be around $13-15 before tax. No drinks included. read more
I returned back to this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday after three years. What I really have to say is that if you don't like tea, get out. It's hard to find something that will satisfy your preferences if you don't like tea because nearly every dish is infused with tea here. On the other hand, if you love tea and drink it regularly, you will love this restaurant and find their tea-infused dishes creative and refreshing. I'm in the first category. Since that first visit three years ago, I have stayed away from tea because the caffeine in it makes me unable to sleep or at least sleep poorly. I tried to scour the menu to look for dishes that didn't have any tea in it and it was a bit difficult. The Taiwanese Pork Intestine Vermicelli dish that I wanted to order (that didn't have any tea in it) wasn't available either! Therefore, I settled on the Pou Chong Rice Noodles with Tea Seed Oil. I believe the noodles M ordered was the Tea Flavoured Minced Pork Soup with Noodles. The food arrived very quickly. I really enjoyed the Pou Chong Rice Noodles with Tea Seed Oil. It was the thin rice noodles that I liked with just the tea seed oil on it. The rice noodles were so soft and tender. It was a vegetarian dish with broccoli and canned corn and preserved vegetables on the side. I tried a bit of the Tea Flavoured Minced Pork Soup with Noodles and thought it was okay. I liked the tea infused egg though. M wasn't a huge fan of the bowl overall though because the noodle soup wasn't hot enough. I didn't really like the service here though. The female server that served us was a bit assuming. When I initially tried to order the vermicelli dish and it wasn't available, she spoke Mandarin to me. I didn't know what she was saying at first and she kept repeating it. Finally, I asked her in English if that meant it was unavailable and she said yes. A staff member at a restaurant shouldn't assume that a guest knows Mandarin and should be able to converse to customers in English too. read more

Happy to visit again after many years this time for takeout. There is a small patio seating area that is approximately spaced out. We ordered from QR code for restaurant and there is 15% discount. Tried the basil chicken green tea soup noodle, beef green tea soup noodle, popcorn chicken and beef green onion wrap. Food is quite tasty but super salty. Green tea noodle had nice chewy texture and tasted fresh. Soup noodle comes with green vegetables. Popcorn chicken as expected. Beef green onion wrap was a bit dry. Hot Ginger milk tea nicely done. The Paris Romantique drink was uniquely but even at half sweet light ice I was drinking liquid syrup and it was 200% too sweet. Don't know if there is a tea base to this drink. Maybe they forgot the ice since it tasted like room temperature. Tried adding ice which made the drink cold but it still felt like drinking syrup. I remembered ten ren doesn't do fresh fruit for any of their drinks. Overall typical Taiwanese bubble tea chain in the area. read more

One of the better ten ren franchises. Drinks are more authentic & made from real ingredients versus powder or artificial flavors. This location is big and spacious for people to hang out, relax or even work. Drinks are good & variety of healthier options as well. read more
