This is a traditional Cantonese-style restaurant that brought back wonderful memories of travelling…read morein Hong Kong. The atmosphere and even the way the waiters interacted with customers reminded me of Hong Kong. My wife ordered Hainan Chicken Rice, and I ordered Combo D, which included beef noodles, egg toast and milk tea. I even told my wife a joke about ordering food in a Hong Kong restaurant. I remembered a girl being asked to order in English and carefully explaining the full names of each dish, while the busy waiter just wanted her to choose a combo by its letter, from A to D! The food was good, and the experience brought back a lot of memories. My only regret is that we were too full to try the pineapple bun with butter. I'll definitely try it next time!

Once we were seated, the food came out in under 5 minutes for everyone, which was honestly impressive considering how busy they were. Prices are about average for an HK café and the food was decent. We all ordered the satay beef instant noodles (沙嗲牛肉公仔麵), so I can't really comment on the rest of the menu yet. The highlight for me was definitely the drinks. Both the Hong Kong-style milk tea (奶茶) and yuenyeung (鴛鴦) had a nice bold, authentic flavour that's getting harder to find these days. Overall, a solid spot for Hong Kong-style comfort food, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

We finally gave this place a try as the first time there was a long line up and we were too hungry…read moreto wait, but this time we arrived during quiet time so its good for us as there isn't much seating available. Its at the Langham Square plaza area not far from the Kennedy plaza on south of Hwy 7 Kennedy area. Here is what we ordered: Pineapple Bun w/Butter- $7.95 comes with hot drink Cheung Fun Noodles w/ Siu Mai Fish & fishball I believe- $9.45 with hot drink. Hainese Chicken w/Rice - $11.95 First off, the pricing of this place is really good and much less expensive vs other HK cafe we've been to. Secondly, everything we ordered is standard for most part, except, the hainese chicken rice which was the most common dish ordered and now we know why... The rice has flavour of the chicken oil and fat, and the chicken though not the most tender or slippery they call it in chinese, but good enough. The star was the sauce they provided which is 3 types: one sweet dark soy sauce like, ginger scallion sauce and their chili sauce... All these were very very tasty along with the flavoured rice! You must give it a try if you remotely enjoy cold chicken with these amazing sauces... I only wish they sell the chili sauce because that is very tasty!

It was my first time here, and the experience started off on the wrong foot. I had barely sat down, not even 30 seconds, before a staff member was already hovering over us trying to take our order. I hadn't even had a chance to look the menu yet, which immediately made things feel rushed and uncomfortable. The space itself is quite small, and they won't let smaller groups of two people or fewer sit in the booths, which adds to that cramped and slightly stressful atmosphere. There's people hovering nearby watching if you're almost done. Overall, the entire dining experience felt rushed from start to finish. The food is cheap, I'll give them that, but unfortunately the quality reflects that. I ordered a sandwich and it was sloppily put together. The bread slices were not even aligned properly, where the top slice and bottom slices were in opposite directions, making it so you couldn't pick it up. Flavour-wise, I was hoping for more of a Hong Kong cafe style satay beef, but this wasn't it. The curry was okay, with some decent chunks of meat and potato, but nothing particularly memorable. What really left a bad impression was the payment experience. Their debit machine defaults to 12%, 15%, or 18% tips calculated after tax, with no upfront notice or custom option. Tipping is not mandatory in Canada, and it should be up to the customer based on service. When we asked about it, the response felt as if we were being made to feel cheap over "just a few cents". Honestly it is not about the amount, it is about principle. If you are just looking for a quick and cheap bite, this place might do the job. But considering the long lines and how rushed the experience is, you might end up waiting longer than you actually get to sit and eat. Personally, I will not be coming back. I would rather get takeout or dine somewhere that lets you actually relax and enjoy your meal.

Dry stirfryed beef rice noodles - Feels like afternoon tea size. Decent flavour, but still lacking the smoky taste. Hk French Toast - Extra for a layer of peanut butter in the middle. Came with condensed milk on top which is rather unique touch. The batter was rather eggy, and not very crispy, which makes for a dense toast. Chicken wings and fries - Love me some salt and pepper wings. These one were lightly battered so gave a nice bite to the wings. Wings were well seasoned. Fries were also great, would get again.

I paid an additional $0.50 to add peanut butter, but only a third of it had peanut butter... Otherwise it was rather tasty though, so buttery. It's drizzled with lots of condensed milk and a slab of butter on top. If I were to get it again, I wouldn't bother with the peanut butter. The hk style milk tea is okay. Just a teeny bit oversteeped, and subtle tea flavour. The beef rice noodle was not evenly coated (still some white seen from the noodle), and oily. Didn't have 'wok hey' either. Limited beef pieces. Would not get again. Very modern looking inside, I suspect this place is rather new. Service is fine, but not busy at all when we went. There are better places, but I might come back to try their daily special (hainan ch on Monday).
