A neighbor recommended Stan at Honcura for an ongoing electrical issue with my Odyssey that the Glendale Honda dealership was useless at rectifying. I called this morning when Honcura opened, and after listening carefully to my description of the problem Stan told me he wasn't sure if he would be able to help, but that he would be happy to take a look. I went down and, true to his word, he spent about 45 minutes testing what he could on my van. This, in spite of clearly having a full shop and workload. He wasn't able to solve the problem, but I understood his recommendations and was so appreciative of the time he took with my car given that I waltzed in on a Monday morning without an appointment. I used to go to a mechanic all the way in Orange County who never did me wrong, but not only is it inconvenient to get down there but seems like it's impossible for him to find a time slot to fit you in. Both times I've called Stanley he's fit me in for same day service, today told me if I come in 30 minutes he can have it done in an hour. I had the parts and planned on attempting the repairs myself, but after reading a few manuals and watching hours of YouTube videos I decided it was way out my comfort zone. Want to go out of my way to personally thank Stan for a tremendous job! Thought I had a problem with my head gasket that was easily going to be above $1000, and I did some searching for good mechanics on Yelp! Came across Honcura and thought it might be a good place to check out since I drive an Acura TSX. Spoke briefly with Stan on the phone and mentioned the problem with my car and how I suspected it to be a head gasket issue, but he said that it might just be a problem with the radiator instead. He spent several hours working on the car, and tested it for more than an hour afterwards. At the end of it all, he was correct. The repair was less than half of what I was expecting to pay, and he even gave my car a coolant flush as a final touch. All for a reasonable price. Hate it when I have to deal with car problems, but I will definitely reach out to Stan again if anything else comes up. I think his level of honesty and professionalism is at the top, and want to send good kudos his way. Thank you, Stanley! read more

Our 2003 Accord was on the fritz one evening, steam/ smoke spewing. We towed it home and figured out the radiator & fan went out. The next morning we were going to take to Honda dealership but decided to find a local auto shop instead. Stanley answered our call and told us to bring it in. I decide to also bring in my Honda Element because power steering was acting funny. We brought in both cars that morning and he looked at both immediately, gave us quotes within the hour and fixed our cars that day! We were in a bind and all issues were resolved. My issue was the brake system but now it's about customer service and how you handle a customers concerns. I called told him my brake Lights where on and the brakes were worn out with in 2 weeks. When I moved over to Glendale, I was sad to be so far from S&S Auto on La Cienega, who has taken care of my little Honda for several years. Upon going there for an oil change, I told him I had moved, and referred me to Honcura, saying "They're good honest people. They will take care of you." Mr Shew was right. As a poor girl who can't throw down large sums of money, Honcura will let me know the timeline of what absolutely needs to be taken care of now and what I can wait on without dying on the freeway. I appreciate that. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. They occasionally get busy though, so try to swing by in the morning when they open. If it's a big service, you can walk the half a mile to the Americana to kill time while your car gets operated on. read more

Stanley at Honcura is what the ideal mechanic should be:(1) He's an expert on Honda and Acura cars (hence the name of the shop), and (2) he's unbelievably honest. He won't do anything that he thinks need not be done, and tells the customer to wait until the repair/replacement is needed. I always took my Acura to an Acura dealership for services. I read rave reviews about Stanley's Honcura last week and i had planned to bring my car in for an A1 service in Nov. However, I couldn't start my car and as soon as it was jump started, i called Honcura to see if i could bring my car for an A1 service. Stanley is awesome. He is very polite and professional. I got a new battery and windshield wipers and my A1 service done. It is important to me to find a repair shop that i can trust. His 2 front office personnel are really friendly and helpful. Needed to get my rotors and brakes serviced and decided to take it here. They were able to get the job done in exactly 1 hour from drop-off! Car is running nice and smooth now. I called in earlier to see if I could get a good quote for labor since I already had the parts on hand. The technician who answered the phone, I believe his name is Bryant, gave me a great quote that was competitive and took my car in at 4:30 p.m. I had the parts for the rotors but unfortunately I had purchased the wrong brakes from Rock Auto. Bryant was sympathetic to my situation and gave me his word that he'll take my car in and have the new brakes installed for no additional charge for labor. Phenomenal! It took a lot of time, work and effort, but it was well worth the wait! Our previous independent Honda/Acura mechanic retired in 2021 after well over 25 years of service to his customers. I was in-between mechanics for over a year and a half until I found another honest and down to earth Honda Specialist! Stanley made me feel extremely comfortable on our very first telephone conversation and even more welcome at my first visit to his shop.
