My husband and I ordered two of their toasted sandwiches and my other family members ordered a pizza and a salad. All of us really enjoyed all of our food. I liked the toasted pesto chicken sandwich that I got, but when I had a bite of my sister's pizza I was blown away and kinda wished that I had gotten a pizza. The crust was so unique and absolutely delicious. The next time I'm in town I would love to explore this place further. We sat in a separate seating area on the side of the restaurant since only outdoor seating was available. It was a cute little area with nice outdoor decor. It was quite charming and our food was delivered to us outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Worst pizza I've ever had. First time yelp has let me down. The crust for the pizza and cheese bread was store bought crust. The fried cheese curd tasted like something they made hours before. Greek salad was horrible. Not one thing we purchased was good or finished. read more

Pizza here is excellent and the owner was amazing. Great beer and wine prices, you won't be disappointed! We customized our own pizza by ordering the Louie and adding jalapeños and feta. The owner also brought out a slice of the baconator and the beach comber for us to try since our group was torn on so many different pizzas. My husband and I owned a pizza franchise in CA and we pretty much consider ourselves 'pizza snobs'. We live in CDA, ID now and haven't found many pizza places with pizza as good as ours. We were thrilled to have found Hometown Pizza because it was delicious! Plus we had an error (they had two customers with the same name....it happens.) and my husband had to go back but they handled it exactly as we would have. Great customer service and excellent food. When traveling with pick kids, you need to find good spots for the parents where kids can eat. I must say this place was great, our pizza was good. The only thing we were a bit disappointed was the salad, I believe we paid $12 for a salad which we thought it was a meal size and it was a soup bowl size. On our recent excursion north we decided to try something local, that was off the strip and recommended by locals. Hometown pizza was the top choice. Nestled just off the main highway this little joint easy to find. Ample parking, but it wasn't busy at all. Hometown offers delivery, take-n-bake, and dine-in. We decided to dine in as it was pretty empty. The menu is decent and offers a good variety of specials. I got the bacon cheese burger pizza and split BBQ wings. The wings were by far the best I've had in awhile. The pizza is classic hand tossed pizza. Great fluffy crust and good flavor. I didn't care for my cheese burger pizza though as it tasted like too much sodium to me. Not the fault of the pizza joint, just my taste. The pizza did taste a little cold which was disappointing as it was very good otherwise. Would definitely recommend and visit again on another trip. read more

Holy crap! Not sure what they're doing differently here but, I'm down with it. I had the Louie, they bake, take out, and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The flavor was COMPLETELY over the top. My guess part of the magic is the way they cook it on a thin piece of paper with the cheese that made it slightly over the edges that wonderful crunchiness. Possibly a hot ceramic floor that cooks it from the bottom and top both? As such, pass on the take-and-bake option and let them bake it (sorry folks that work there. I'm sure you'd prefer the former). This is a business trip for me and I'll be looking for an excuse to make it back to McCall just to eat here again. read more

We ran in here to grab a Take & Bake after grabbing groceries on our way in for the week. Had a beer while waiting for it to be made. They have a nice selection of bottle beer. You can also get wine by the glass. The pizza had plentiful toppings on it. Instructions were easy & it baked up exactly as per instructions...great pizza! We even served the leftovers as a snack the next day. Just reheated in the oven wrapped in foil. I wish I could speak on the atmosphere but we ran in during a huge thunderstorm & we're just grateful for a moment to dry off & gather our thoughts. We would absolutely go back!!! read more

Ehh nothing great to me. What was the kicker is we tried to order a small one topping pizza. The pizza was almost double the price, and we were confused. They explained they don't have a 1 topping price just a two topping price and charged us extra. Who wants to pay for something they didn't order or won't be getting? They also have a baking charge! Who goes to a pizza joint and gets charged extra for their pizza to be cooked? It's a sit down place- indoor and outdoor spaces to eat. So a charge to cook the food seems absolutely absurd. As for the taste wasn't the worst but wasn't the greatest. Just ok/ mediocre EXPENSIVE pizza. However, they do sell just slices and don't charge a baking fee for them. So that is an option when you are looking for something easy to satisfy your hunger. Just again seems ridiculous to charge to cook some food and not others. read more

Hometown Pizza is a solid pizza joint which needs to update the technology that runs the place. I started this review when I visited a year ago and remembered to finish it today. We had a great experience when I ordered a year ago so planned a pizza night this trip. This restaurant has friendly staff, great salads and pizzas, and a nice atmosphere inside. I decided to plan another pizza night but made the mistake of calling at 5:30PM which is apparently after things get busy. I got the busy signal 36 times over 30 minutes - a little crazy but I wanted pizza. I finally tried at 7:30 PM to see if the phone system was broken - apparently not, just busy and I was told to try at 4PM today. We ordered early today and had a great meal - the gluten free crust was one of the best I've had. So 5 stars for food, 3 for infrastructure - telephony equipment, lack of online ordering, and one cash register without a POS. If this place gets into the digital age, they could crush it. I'll still come back but only at off hours. read more
