Bottom Line: THE Best Place to Eat in McCall!!! Went there on Father's Day without a reservation and ended up getting take out. We had our retriever with us and it 80 degrees so we couldn't wait for a patio table. All that said, especially if you have kids or a dog this is the best place to eat in Mccall. The Food: we got the spaghetti and meatballs $18.99 and a small Caesar salad with grilled chicken $14.75 and they were both good. 4.5/5 The value was reasonable for McCall which can be pricey being a ski town and inflation. The Venue: this is nicest venue in McCall which is kid and dog friendly. Large lawn area with corn hole games and lawn chairs. Nice dog friendly patio with table umbrellas. Large parking lot. 5/5 The Service: it was Fathers Day and it was really crazy. They were doing the best they could. We were looking for a casual and delicious pizza place, and we were so happy with toll station. We came on a rainy Saturday afternoon in June, and we were seated right away. The service was fantastic and our server made great recommendations. The cheese curds are a MUST! Hands down the best we've ever had. They do 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas, which was amazing- so we tried 3 of their most popular and a regular pepperoni. We got the chicken popper (our favorite hands down and a must try) the Mac and cheese (2nd favorite- I would add bacon next time to elevate it even more), the BBQ chicken (our least favorite, but still good) and the pepperoni- classic, and can't go wrong. We went on the earlier side and waited hardly at all for our food. The service was friendly as well and kept checking on us. My mom got the full serving of the chopped salad and it was massive. We split the spinach artichoke dip and also had leftovers. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious. It's definitely good food for the price in my opinion. The space itself is spacious and comfy, with outdoor seating for warmer days. A nice location for if you're staying anywhere downtown. No kids menu (not the biggest deal to us but having kid portions would have been ideal. Ultimately the low review comes down to the rude staff. We were seated at 6:30pm and at 7:00pm we noticed a server had not come around to offer us water- so we notified staff that we would like to order. No big deal to us, as we understand how tables can get forgotten. They were busy but we know they were not at full capacity since outside seating was closed. We finally ordered and received our food after 7:30pm, by which time we had seen two other parties arrive at the door, wait for their tables, be seated, ordered, ate and had their food in boxes before our food even arrived. I never usually complain but I decided to let the hostess know about our situation. She responded by saying "Well you ordered your food and your food arrived right? So it's not my problem." I have never been met with such rude service in my life and will never return here. My husband was able to speak to a different staff member and they apologised and compensated our meal. The only redeeming part of our experience. Perhaps our experience would have been better under different circumstances but unfortunately we will not return. read more

We ate here our first night in McCall. On a Friday night around 8:00. The wait was too long across the street so we walked over to this place. The food was decent and the service was ok. I called to place a takeout order. I was told the price was over $35 for a large two topping pizza and it included a mandatory 15% takeout gratuity. I was asked if this was OK? My response, "No it's not ok, cancel my order." A gratuity is supposed to be for a service provided. By Toll Station logic, I should be tipping 15% for grocery store purchases. Let me just start by saying that we have been patrons for many years. The wait staff did ok I guess. Not really paying attention to details....like giving one water with a straw and another w/o. We ordered pizza and it came to us w/o a spatula. We had to ask for plates. We sat down in the bar area and the bench was horrible....cushion was so broken down you could feel the springs and it was like you were sitting in a hole. On to the food, the bagged salad was good but we sure miss the salad bar. The pizza (which is what we have always eaten here), was gross. The crust was soggy. The sauce was yuck. And then we got our ticket. I had forgotten the name of the pizza that we have always ordered (the Mountaineer) and I neglected to look at the menu. We paid almost 25$ for a cheese pizza and then at least 10$ for the toppings that we wanted.....which was sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and breakfast bacon. The pizza literally tasted like a frozen that they tried to improve. We won't ever waste our money to eat here again. Drove up to get out of Boise for a couple days. This was our first stop. From the reviews I was not expecting a lot but I was pleasantly surprised. The Mountaineer. Their all meat pizza. It was good. The crust is more thin and had a nice crispness to it. Sauce is flavorful. Toppings were just right. The service did not take too long. This wasn't the best pizza I've ever had but I wasn't disappointed at all. Most important I would return again if I had a pizza craving. read more

Our group sat down for dinner around 5:45 PM on a Thursday night and we were given menus and put in drink orders. Salads came fairly quickly but the rest of the food seemed to take a while- long enough to finish a salad and wonder where the rest of the food was. Ordered at my table was a French dip sandwich, several custom pizzas, Fettuccine Alfredo , and spinach artichoke dip. One pizza was made incorrectly and took about 10 minutes to make a new one. Overall the service was good but the food was just okay for the high prices. We were on vacation and my mom got sick so I called to ask what the soup of the day was. I was told one thing so we ordered it for a take out order. When we arrived they told me it was something different, then someone came out from the kitchen and told us it was a third different soup. They had already charged me for it before I arrived and wouldn't take the 2 soups back so we ended up paying for 2 soups we didn't want and didn't eat. Food was otherwise mediocre. We were in search of a sit down Saturday lunch and, after a few failed attempts due to hours/takeout-only scenarios, stumbled upon Toll Station. For starters, COVID precautions are taken seriously here if that concerns you. The tables are physically distanced and there is plenty of space inside the restaurant. Staff is wearing masks and signs everywhere remind patrons to wear masks when not eating/at their tables. We ordered the Idaho Poppers for an appetizer. Think of tater tots with jalapeños and cream cheese inside. My mom and I split a small Chicken Popper Pizza. It was delicious! Nice mixture of sweet and spicy with the jalapeños and hot honey drizzle. Our friend ordered the French Dip and the prime rib was slightly fatty. We decided it was her fault for ordering a French Dip at a pizza/pasta place. Our waitress, Diane, was hospitable, friendly as ever, and prompt. We ordered the McCall and margarita pizza's as well as two kids meals- pepperoni pizza with side salad and Alfredo with the chicken noodle soup. Also an order of their mild wings. I also asked if they could include the silverware for the pasta and napkins just in case it wasn't a given. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I were greeted with a quick "Hey. Just one?" After ordering with the host, and him forgetting to split the order twice, they forgot all dressings and dipping sauces, silverware and napkins. When I returned to get these things, I was sent off with an eye roll and silence. My husband and I just went here for an early dinner. We both had side salads. He was happy to be able to have thousand island dressing which isn't always available in restaurant. I had blue cheese drsg which was so good. We ordered pizza. He had the McCall special which was def loaded with meat. He loved it. I ordered the cauliflower crust pizza since I need gf. I had the chicken Caesar pizza and added jalapeños. It's was so delicious. The crust was nice and crispy. GF pizza can be tricky at times but this was excellent. We will def be back! This place has went downhill. I just got charged $70 for 2 pizzas. I understand prices change, but I was forcefully charged a "carry out service fee" of 10 dollars for getting carry out. They also have restructured their menu to make ordinary pizzas cost more. It's really wrong to require a "service charge" of 15% which I was told from the front desk is a tip for the staff. This is our McCall STAPLE. This is actually the only restaurant in McCall I've eaten at outside of Shore Lodge. Sit outside. The waitresses have always been super nice and accommodating for our groups. We love watching the traffic and boats go by.
