Mall plate
Caitlyn S.

We had some clients that needed vegetarian meals so we ordered from homespun for the first time. We ordered 10 meals, including three vegetarian options, the mall plate, the blue plate, the barbecue bowl, and the buffalo ranch bowl. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Our food was ready before time promised on pick up and the two people working on our order were both extremely kind. We will 100% be ordering again.

Farmer Bowl #2
Donald H.

Stumbled upon this place near 5 points that serves a variety of "healthier" foods-- bowls, wraps etc. in a Chipotle like format. My wife and daughter each had bowl variations of the 'farmer'--a bowl filled with organic eggs, organic fresh greens (one was with mixed greens and the other spinach), peppers + onions, avocado, cucumber quickles, avocado cilantro lime sauce, and house seasoning. This Vegetarian dish can also be had as a wrap. Both bowls also contained deliciously spiced potatoes as well. Both versions were delicious and came in very generous portions. My grandson had a value meal of nacho spuds that he gobbled up. I had a Mediterranean bowl that contained dry rubbed organic chicken thigh, peppers + onions, cucumber quickles, feta cheese, healthy grain mix and cashew tzatziki. This dish was absolutely delicious and employees said that this was one of their most popular dishes. Everything on the menu seems customizable and there is plenty of complimentary double osmosis filtered tap water as well as other flavored and bottled waters for purchase if preferred. Atmosphere is fairly plain but my only and biggest complaint is the ordering procedure-- there are two touchscreens that you can order from but when I was there neither was working properly. You can also order from two registers on either side of the long counter but be careful as one only rakes cash and the other only takes cards which seems unnecessarily confusing. However, if you're looking for a cornucopia of healthy options and you're in Riverside/5 Points area, Homespun Kitchen is a nice option.

I came right at closing time in hopes for grabbing a late dinner. The pickings were limited but I ordered a salad with whatever toppings they had left and with egg and teriyaki tofu as that were the only proteins they had left. Surprising pretty good all things considered. I also ordered a Greek yogurt parfait for dessert and it was good. Order via kiosk. Indoor and outdoor seating. I parked in the paid lot next door and in hindsight probably didn't have to pay for parking as I was in and out. Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

Large, build your own açaí bowl

Love their create your own açaí bowl. The large is enormous, really refreshing and delicious. I included their homemade granola, honey, strawberries and almond butter in my bowl. The almond butter was generous and the yummy granola added just the right crunch. My daughter enjoyed her wrap and small açaí bowl too. Easy online ordering and reserved spaces for pickup make this location in 5 Points a great option for lunch to-go!

Stopped in to satisfy my Acai bowl craving so I came to 5 points around lunch time. Parking was a little tough but to be expected. I parked a bit far and walked down to Homespun. I ordered the SoCal acai bowl to-go which came with pb butter, honey, granola and bananas. Very fulfilling and exactly what I needed to satisfy the craving on a hot Florida day. Pricing for the small was ok but seemed comparable to the average price for an Acai bowl. The taste of the bowl was delicious, perfectly sweetened and so fresh! Love this place for its options of fresh, tasty, and organic food.

Mediterranean bowl with chicken

My parents and I stopped by here as we wanted to have a healthy lunch. Per my last visit here, I really enjoy the choices that Homespun has. We ordered at the kiosk which is pretty easy. We all got different bowls, from build your own to Mediterranean bowl. The vibe in Homespun was good as they played the new SZA album in the background. Our food took about 10 minutes and it was very fresh. We all had the dry rubbed chicken which was perfectly seasoned and very juicy. My favorite topping still remains to be their cucumber salad. It is tangy and fresh and just compliments the bowl. They have a great variety of dressings that are perfect for vegans as well with their dairy free option like the cashew tzatziki and cilantro lime cashew aioli. We tried one of the crafted kombuchas which came a locally owned business. Overall Homespun is a great made from scratch, deliciously fresh food.

Homespun Kitchen has a modern, health-focused vibe that's typical of many cafes these days. It's a bit on the pricey side for what you get, though. The service was slower than expected--20 minutes for a lemonade and an acai bowl with only one person ahead of us. The lemonade was a bit too sweet, and it tasted more like concentrated syrup. Luckily, they offer free water on the side, so you can dilute it to your liking--basically, getting two drinks for the price of one. The acai bowl, however, was disappointing. It was more of a banana-based blend with a hint of acai, and as someone who's not a fan of bananas in anything, it was a letdown. The banana flavor was too strong, and it seemed like they were just diluting the acai with banana to stretch the portions. I also ordered agave on top of my bowl, but they forgot to add it, which was frustrating. On the plus side, the place is clean, and I do like the kiosk ordering setup, so you don't have to interact too much with staff. Overall, not a bad experience, but not great either. Wouldn't rush back for the price. PS: the beaches location is far superior

The staff is super friendly and as soon as you walk in it smells divine! The food is even better. I think I got a food high from the buffalo chicken wrap. Their sauce is magic!

Vegan options abound! Order from kiosk or counter. Menu changes between breakfast and lunch. Lots of windows means lots of light, soak up the Florida sunshine! There's a patio to enjoy if the weather is nice. The staff was really helpful when I had questions. I really enjoyed my breakfast bowl, the potatoes were perfect and I loved the flavor of the tempeh. I wish this place much success.

The food was fantastic, and the service was exceptional--very attentive. The restaurant is spotless, with comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors. I was most impressed by the incredible taste and quality of the food.

Wanted a healthy meal and this was the perfect place. Very cute indoor and outdoor seating areas, with yummy bowl or salad options! The young girl at the counter was very helpful, as this was my first time.

We came in through the back since we wanted to sit outside. It was a little hot, but the outdoor area was still enjoyable with a big shade tree in the middle. Definitely a good vibe on the patio. We ordered our food and, for how slow it was inside, the wait felt longer than it should have been. The restaurant wasn't very busy at all, with more people sitting outside than inside. Unfortunately, most of the food came out lukewarm. My roast beef sandwich and potatoes were barely warm, like they'd been sitting for a while, and the bottom bread was completely soaked. Our daughter's grilled cheese came out with the cheese not even melted, so we sent that back along with my sandwich. The salmon and quinoa also arrived lukewarm. The fried fish was cooked too long in the fryer and wasn't great. The bright spot was the short rib tacos my wife ordered. She said those were really good and probably the best thing we had. I do want to give credit where it's due. Our server was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. He genuinely saved the experience for us and handled everything with a great attitude. Bathrooms were also clean, which I always appreciate. Overall, the experience was average. Not a top pick for me, but I'd be open to giving it another try in the future to see if things improve. Just wanted to leave an honest review of our visit.

This was my first time really giving matcha a fair shot, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. The flavor was earthy and nutty, really smooth and comforting. I personally didn't taste much cherry or vanilla, but the matcha itself was good enough that I didn't mind at all. Service was pretty standard--quick, friendly, and easy, which is exactly what you want when you're grabbing a drink and settling in. What I loved most was the atmosphere. It's such a good mix of people--some working, some chatting, some just enjoying their coffee. There are plenty of outlets, lots of space, and it's definitely one of those spots where you can bring your laptop and actually get things done without feeling awkward or rushed. Our visit to Biscottis in Jacksonville's Avondale neighborhood managed to do both. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately, and the atmosphere had a welcoming energy that made the restaurant feel like a true neighborhood gathering place. Susan ordered the Quiche Lorraine, and after the first bite we both knew it was something special. The crust was delicate and buttery while the filling was rich and perfectly balanced. It was so impressive that we awarded it our Culinary Duo Best of the Best dish recognition, which is something we reserve for truly standout dishes. Peter went in a different direction and ordered the Sweet Potato Pancakes with house made white cheddar hash browns. The pancakes were flavorful and comforting, and the hash browns were crispy with bold cheddar flavor that made them impossible to stop eating. Another thing we appreciated was learning that Biscottis carries the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval, recognizing restaurants that support sustainable agriculture and local food traditions. The service throughout the visit was cheerful and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. If you enjoy restaurants that combine great brunch dishes, incredible desserts, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, Biscottis is definitely worth visiting.

Pretentious and overrated…read more I wanted to like this place - it has such a hype. But the food is terrible. The burger is greasy/wet, it is drenched in a bland cheese sauce, the meat is underseasoned, and the patty has no sear. Definitely not worth anything near the $21 cost. The salmon BLT is served on bread that is cut so thick you're mostly just eating old/stale bread, and the sandwich is also greasy. Their french fries come drenched in a disgusting garlic oil and cheap grated parmesan. It's bad cooking dressed up to look fancy without any understanding of the basics. The restaurant fits as well. Its ugly artwork is accompanied by furniture that looks like it was ripped out of a Le Pain Quotidien. The cakes look amazing, and the bar is nicely designed and well stocked, but neither saves the drab surrealist-cafeteria vibe of this pretentious establishment.

I also wasn't given a pasta spoon- so had slight difficulty eating it. It took quite a while for us to get our food, approx 45 minutes? Our waitress was very kind and checked in- but forgot the lemons I had asked for- for the waters. I'm a huge fan of seafood stews and almost always order them when I see one on the menu, so I was looking forward to the Sicilian Stew. While the overall flavor was good, it leaned a bit too salty for my taste. More disappointing was the fish itself -- it seemed cooked down and stirred into the broth to the point where it acted more like a thickener than a distinct part of the dish.
