The atmosphere is fun (although REALLY bright green) and the food was really great. There is lots of parking and outdoor seating. I'm not sure how this compares to other breakfast places in Jax, but our bill was higher than some nice dinners we've had for 6 people. Tbf, they ordered coffee and some sides.

I always order some of their healthier Mediterranean options like the bowl or hummus and they are presented really nicely, which is good. My companion had the beef kebab platter. He said it was some of the best beef he had ever had-very tender and flavorful and cooked to our specification. My my chicken platter was delicious and juicy. I loved the sauce that came for it to be dipped in. The hummus was incredibly smooth and tasty. This is my second visit to Cedar and Olive in a week. I went for the first time last week with my daughter for lunch, and we enjoyed the meal so much I knew I had to bring my best friend for dinner. The cool thing was that Pete, the son of the owner, remembered both mine and my daughter's names, as well as what soda I liked to drink! It was a very nice touch. I will definitely be going back to this family-owned restaurant to try even more things. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

Although it took some time to bag it all up, everything was ready when I arrived. We tried three sandwiches - kafta, chicken kebab, and falafel, along with two salad bowls - chicken kabab and kafta. I also got the Mediterranean sampler. I indulged in the Mediterranean sampler. The salads looked very fresh. I enjoyed the fattoush salad and the tabbouli salad. The pita bread was fresh and thin. Dipping it into the labneh was delightful. The baba ghanoush was also good, but the hummus had a very strange taste that was offputting. The falafel was OK, but it was a bit dry. The sandwiches seemed dry as well. I'm glad that I had a chance to visit Cedar and Olive. I enjoyed some of their appetizers and the pita bread. One highlight was watching the owner's mother stuffing grape leaves and offering to teach me how to do so. If only I had had more time!

Everything on the menu is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and they stand up to bigotry in their own backyard. You can't get much better than that. The only drawback (if you can even consider it one) is just figuring out a good time to arrive to avoid a line. Regardless, even if there is one, the staff moves through it quickly and efficiently. As Sub Cultured is a walk-up window, there's some outside tables to sit, as well as the option of sitting in your car for that car-hop action. Otherwise, you're so close to the beach and parks that taking your sandwiches for a picnic isn't a bad idea either. If you can't find parking immediately at Sub Cultured, there's a little shopping center just next door since there doesn't seem to be much for street parking outside of their handful of spots. All of that said, I'm a transplant to Jacksonville via the Navy since 2004. One of the biggest cravings that I have from back home is a real authentic sausage, pepper, and onion grinder. I can't even begin to describe to y'all how great Sub Cultured's is with that spicy Italian sausage and perfectly cooked peppers and onions. Add a little spicy brown mustard and you're all set.

I now know why this place is so popular! The subs were delicious! It's hard to mess up a simple Philly cheesesteak but it's even more difficult to make it really good. The bulgogi sub was a nice spin on a traditional cheesesteak. The fries were just ok but substantive. The first time I placed my order at the window and the second time I called in the order. The wait was reasonable both times. Service was very friendly. I've turned my family on to this place so when they're in town visiting, I know they're gonna stop by!

My companion ordered the poke bowl. It was decent. Everything was fresh, but beyond that, there wasn't anything exceptional about this dish. I had the grouper sandwich. Having lived in Florida for almost 30 years, I have become leery of the grouper... Is it really grouper? This sandwich was really good. I don't care if it was grouper or not (it definitely tasted like the real thing), it hit the spot. The fries were yummy too. Our server was kind and attentive and made us feel welcome. Drinks were generous. Cheers to the bartender.

We both agreed that the meal we shared was easily the best Italian food in Jacksonville. For starters, the amount of charm and elegance the owners were able to achieve in a strip mall of all places is impressive. Our reservation was for inside, but we would love to sit under their patio/canopy as the weather starts to cool down! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but gorgeous nonetheless. Our server, Alana, was AMAZING!! She gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate my birthday dinner and put a candle in our dessert. She was very personable and gave us recommendations on each course upon request. Our drinks were never empty and there was not a single lull waiting for her to come back over. If you decide to go, ask for her! Now, the FOOD! For apps, we ordered the meatballs (Alana's recommendation) and the burrata (a must order for us at any Italian restaurant). The meatballs were full of flavor and tender but not mushy. I could drink the sauce if I'm being honest. The burrata was delicious with the bread and marinated tomato/onion mixture. Would recommend both of these to anyone! For our mains, I ordered the gnocchi arrabbiatta and my hubby ordered the pappardelle boscaiola with added ragu beef. Both were DELICIOUS! My gnocchi had a little bit of a kick, but nothing too overpowering. The beef in my husband's pasta was extremely tender and flavorful. Finally, for our dessert, we ordered the budino based on Alana's recommendation and it was AMAZING. Probably my favorite part of the meal. All in all, we had a 10/10 experience and will absolutely be back!

The tables are makeshift. Ours was sticky and after the plates were removed, noticed there was hair stuck to the table. Nasty

But overall, this place was good for a filling lunch. Also as a sidenote (no points off tho cause it's not that deep) but the paintings on the inside are almost definitely ai prints, which is a jarring contrast to the stunning mural on the outside of the building.

The pita bread is soft but durable enough not to fall apart because of the delicious tzatziki sauce lathered around the lettuce. The pizza was solid (8/10) for the area, given that some authentic Italian spots are minutes from this place. The fries were good (8/10), and the wings were okay (7/10). MY RECOMMENDATIONS: The competition for Italian and American food is too steep to invest much effort into improving pizza and fries. For the wings, master the cook to avoid the chewiness, and they should hold up fine against the other major pizza franchises (Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's).
