I'm still going to give the same amount of stars. I wish I could have added one. But, my same complaint after a second visit, inspired by the enthusiastic words of the owner, is still there. For me it's a matter or flavor, maybe even more plainly, lack of flavor. On this visit I was encouraged to try the southwest salad, one of their vegan options. I was intrigued by the idea of a vegan ranch. I ordered this with a tea and vegan cookie bite. The salad was made with fresh ingredients, and judging by the great guy working behind the counter, also made with some love. The salad itself was mainly quinoa (I ordered half greens/half quinoa), and the portion size was definitely generous, enough for 2 people. One bite, and it was just bland. I don't normally do this, but I just really didn't want to sit there and eat something that had no flavor. So, I ordered something else. First thing the man behind the counter said was that he also agreed that salad didn't have enough flavor, so he gave me some more dressing and seasoning powder to add. That doesn't make much sense to me that the person making it also agrees it doesn't have enough flavor but he's ok with sending it out to a customer. And no, I don't want to add more sauce to try and make it palatable. Anyways, I ordered a piece of avocado toast because that seemed the safest option. And I will say, their bread is the BOMB. Some of the best bread I've had in a long time. And that cookie bite I ordered, yeah that bad boy was so good I would return just to have another one of those. But, it was a pretty over priced evening for a meal that turned out to be a piece of avocado toast and cookie. I took the salad home and doctored it a bit up with some seasonings and ate it for lunch the next day. read more

The food is amazing! It tastes fresh with a lot of good flavor. They offer great options for vegans as well as omnivores and vegetarians. The service is helpful, patient and all-around kind. The SoCal bowl is ! I thought I had found a winner with the a peanut butter açaí bowl down the road, which is pretty good too, but this SoCal bowl is next level. The açaí here is sorbet style in consistency and freakin delicious. I haven't had the ability to order anything other than the SoCal bowl but hope to in the future. It's got these little cocoa nibs mixed in with the granola for a chocolaty surprise in each bite. I literally eat it as a pre work out routinely. read more

Happy cup has been one of my favorite places to go to at the beach since I moved to Jax! I get the SoCal acai bowl and it's amazing! Came in with a friend because we were looking for a healthy meal after a workout. I ordered a salad and added chicken, my friend said she wanted the same exact thing I got. When I got my salad there were two, maybe three tiny cubes of chicken that I was charged $3.50 for. My friends salad had no chicken in it even though she said she wanted the same exact thing, the young female then came back to the table and said they didn't charge us for the chicken so they needed to charge us. I was in the restaurant business for a long time and the fact that THEY messed up the order then had the audacity to charge us...I will not be returning. This is now our third day in a row that we've had a delicious healthy breakfast and healthy smoothies! The almond crunch smoothie is spectacular !
