Over the years I have spent a lot of money at the At Home in Katy, Texas. But I recently had a…read moreterrible experience there and so I will never go back. A few days ago I purchased a large ceramic rabbit at this store to place in an assisted living. It cost 100 dollars. When I got home from the store, I picked the rabbit up by its head and the head broke off. I went back to the store and spoke with the store manager who told me her name was Debbie. I asked if they would replace the rabbit or at least give me a discount on a new one. Debbie told me "too bad so sad". She said there was nothing they could do to help me out. Debbie was so hostile and rude to me. I told Debbie that I have been a customer of At-Home for years and have spent a lot of money there. She told me "that's too bad." It's no wonder At-home had to file for bankruptcy last year when they have managers that are rude and not the least bit customer friendly. I still am shocked out how rude Debbie was to me.

They have an extensive wall art section of all kinds of styles in every size imaginable. Parking is easy and plentiful. Prices are reasonable. I bought those closet scent sachets they used to sell at BBB for cheaper than mail order. They had more scents than I knew existed. It kinda reminds me of the old "Garden Ridge" store which I loved and miss. This will do nicely.

I stop here whenever my wife has an appointment at Methodist Hospital. It's only a mile away…read more I come to Ollie's for their books. I am an avid reader and no one can beat their prices if you find a book; which I always do. This location cares for their book section unlike most other Ollie's. Today I bought two hardcover books for $10!!! I will start reading as I wait for my wife. I definitely will be back!!

A "bargain outlet" with 500+ locations across 3 dozen states, they have massive inventory that covers everything from mattresses to children's books. If Costco and Dollar Tree had a baby, it would be named Ollie's. I hate to generalize by saying they have everything, but it's really hard to suggest that they don't. There's appliances, apparel, sporting equipment, toiletries, electronics, office supplies, storage supplies, shoes, sporting gear, pet supplies, home decor, etc. It's really easy to get lost in everything they have. However, calling in might be an issue as their customer service is very spotty at best. The website isn't the most reliable in confirming inventory, so perusing in person is usually ideal. At the end of the day, affordable stuff that doesn't feel cheap even when it is. More importantly, I've scored some impressive deals and almost everything was of good-to-great quality. "Good stuff cheap" happens to be their slogan and is a motto I can certainly live by whenever I shop here. ____________ (#1) aka "missing out" (#2) Most of the country has Dollar Tree. NYC has Chinese-owned 99 cent stores. My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ollies-bargain-outlet-katy?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

Aptly named. Enchanted Gardens (EG) is an enchantment any time of the year…read more My aunt, childhood friend of 45/6 years, and I love it so much here. For my aunt, it's the go-to place for entire flats of mix and match edible plants, and also unusual plants. She says it's the best quality, selection and price. She now goes here with friends and family when I cannot go with her. For my friend its an opportunity for fancifulness, like you're in the opening of a Disney female main character scene where nature is chirping and buzzing in a concentration of a diverse, bountiful, beautiful plant life, and for me its both the practicality of edible plants, native plants, and unusual plants. I've seen the owner give a talk at OHBA. It cemented my respect for EG. So much comprehensive knowledge, and deep care. Before, I had noticed the employees are happy, present, and knowledgeable. EG is leagues beyond corporate stores. Yes, support local, but also seems EG is authentically supporting the local community too.

The garden has a beautiful layout with well-maintained displays showcasing a variety of flowers, succulents, shrubs, herbs, pottery, and trees. I've visited this garden a few times now and each time, the staff members have been incredibly friendly and eager to assist with any questions I may have. They've even helped bring my fruit trees out to my car. The service here is excellent, and they seem to have almost everything I need. So far, I've purchased two Sugar Cane Jujube trees, a cherry tree, a purple and red pepper plant, a few Jade plants, and some flowers to enhance my garden. If you haven't visited Enchanted Gardens, you should definitely add it to your agenda. The fun seasonal decorations are worth the trip alone, and they're perfect for taking pictures.
