There were points in my life when my mother would take the 4 of us kiddos and take us to the mall randomly for new clothes. Random mall runs for new clothes always meant a vacation! If it was one set... we were going to an amusement park from 7 to 11. If it was more that 1, we were going to the different peaks around Disneyland, going out of the country ( the 4 of us are still world travelers), we were going to spend time with my family and have fun with my cousins a whole week and my health conscious Mom would pretend to not see the junk we ate, or my Dad read up on a State with a lot of history, museums, and wonderful restaurants ( my fellow foodie!) and decided to take us to that state. Now TJ Maxx was the last stop on the route. That was for accessories and moreover it was for my Mom to pick up cute pieces for my Dad and herself. She spent most of her budget on us and she was such a fashionista on getting her and my Dad great outfits on sale. TJ Maxxx has a whole lot know!!! Im using them to redecorate my house. I came in for a simple return, and the experience was utterly humiliating and unacceptable, handled poorly by the Assistant Manager Megan A. I had purchased 2 items and paid a portion by store credit, and the rest by credit card (roughly 15% of the total by store credit and 85% by credit card). My return was about half the cost of what I paid, which was fully covered by the credit card portion. Since the item I wanted to return was fully covered by the amount I paid on my credit card, the entire refund should have gone back to my card, per standard policy and logic. However, the Assistant Manager Megan A refused to process the refund correctly, insisting on wanting to issue a new store credit for what I had originally used while only putting the remainder on my card. Her reasoning was because it was store policy. She then refused to process my refund entirely after our argument. I then went to the TJ Maxx on Memorial Dr and had completely no issues with the return, with the full amount of the item entirely on my credit card. I didn't even have to ask to do this as it was automatic. Worse than Megan A.'s obviously incorrect 'policy' was the treatment. Her tone and demeanor made me feel publicly scrutinized and humiliated while standing at the busy cashier, as if I was trying to cheat the system. I was left feeling deeply embarrassed and frustrated in front of other shoppers. This is a failure on two counts: 1. Policy Failure: The manager lacked basic understanding of how split-tender returns work when the return value is less than the credit card portion. 2. Service Failure: Treating a long-time customer with such unprofessionalism and public derision is inexcusable. read more

I like shopping at TJ Maxx because they always have new inventory merchandise coming out weekly. The store is very clean and well organized. It's very easy to find whatever miscellaneous items or personal care products you are looking to buy. read more

Firstly, this pace SUPER SUCKS. You're telling me you have 12 cash registers and only three of them are operated while other employees "work"???? Over 20 mins of waiting in line for literally less than three items, like cmon now. The prices here can get steep and accumulate fast, and the selection is alright. I didn't mean to Maxx out my credit card at this store, but it happens. Barbie is a fan of TJ Maxx, and we agree that this is a pretty good location. They don't always have the best selection, but it's cheap and cheerful and service is okay and other than the long wait times it's definitely a good place to find some good discounts. read more

Not sure why the bad reviews. This TJ/HomeGoods combo location is clean, organized and stocked. I live closer to the TJ Maxx on 1093 (it is always a mess and random stock). This TJ Maxx has a lot of women's fashion, it seems very orderly and the employees seemed happy and busy putting out new stock and organizing. No complaints from me! The HomeGoods part has a lot of merchandise also and is neat and orderly. The employees are not in your face, maybe not the super friendliest, but I prefer to shop in peace. Overall this location will be one of my favorite TJ Maxx in the Houston area. read more

Lines are always long. Literally always long! The bathrooms? Disgusting. I was genuinely appalled when I went into the bathroom, like in the middle of a pandemic?? the store overall is just super unorganized and messy, some workers are rude the others are nice. Dressing rooms are nice, the employee at the dressing room was super lovely!! But man this store is just overall a mess tbh. read more

I have been to this location a couple of times and found great deals on sport wear, pet supplies, home decor and designer brand shoes and handbags. I have purchased cute designer dresses at a good price and discounted price on designer perfums. Only thing at this location is there is always a long line when you are done shopping. It took me 20 minutes to pay that has been the only downside at this location. read more

I am an avid TJ Maxx shopper, so I have mixed feelings about this location. They have a huge selection of everything, from shoes to suitcases to home decoration... but everything is a real MESS. Everything is disorganized, you find men's clothes in the girl's section, home decoration items in the clothing area. The music is always terrible. I always try to visit this store very late at night to make sure I do not get claustrophobia-induced headaches. What I love about this store is that I can shop in the TJ Maxx area, leave my mom at the Home Goods area and meet her up later in the line to pay! I also love the crazy amount of workout clothes they have at awesome prices!! (I am a sucker for all workout fashion). I think this store has a lot of potential to be better, but they do not take full advantage of that potential. I hope i can give them more stars someday! read more

Sadly I am not impressed with TJ Maxx today. I came in for a return, but upon entering saw the line to be about 20 people long. So...seeing I was going to have to stand in the line no matter what, I decided to look around shop a little. I made a purchase, after standing in line over 15! Didn't feel great on my back, and no where to sit. Also no option for mobility impaired patrons either. The layout of the store makes it a little difficult for the baskets in some areas as well. So this might not be the store for those mobility impaired. The most frustrating in addition to the line, was having to have an attendant paged twice to layaway, and again wait over 15 minutes for assistance!!! By this point, I've had enough. On a positive note, I love the option of the two stores. Home Goods and TJ Maxx. Lots of great merchandise to choose from, they just need to work on customer service. I will return, bit may check busy times before I go. read more

The store is neat and the dressing rooms are clean. The Eldridge location is always busy, even on the weekdays. By far the best TJ Maxx / HomeGoods I've been to in Houston! Admittedly I don't spend too much time in the clothing section, most of my review is based on the housewares. They have an amazing selection and are always getting new stuff in. They have everything you could possibly need to redecorate your home and kitchen, as well as random things that you didn't know you needed but totally do. Prices are what you would expect, super fair for what you get. They do have a good range of high end/name brand stuff if that's what you're after. The only reason this location isn't 5 stars for me is the fact that's it's horribly staffed - the people working there are SO kind and helpful, but finding one to help in the store is a challenge. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, the lines are LONG due to the low staffing. I went on a Tuesday around 11am (during the summer, don't know if that affects it any) and waited for roughly 20 minutes. Don't let the long lines scare you and go get you some reasonably-priced home decor! read more

This TJ Maxx is a combo store along with Home Goods. The TJ Maxx side always has great deals on men's clothing and women's stuff. You can find Michael Kors and Betsey Johnson (which my fiancee loves) at better prices than Macy's, they clearance and cycle their inventory on a regular basis, so you're always guaranteed to find something new the next time you come. One of the things I like the most, at least about this location, I'm not sure about all other TJ Maxx stores, is that they usually have UH gear in stock. Most places carry the two univeristies most people like, being a UH grad, I like finding my alma matter gear at any store. You can also find action figures that may be hard to find at Target or Wal-mart, I haven't figured out why this is, but hey, I'm not complaining. I have found the Thundercats (new one) for half the price from Toys R Us! On the downside, the toys' department looks like it's been ravaged by wild monsters every time I've gone. You always have to deal with other customers who don't speak english and have no sense or courtesy (they'll open packages in front of you or will grab something even if you put it down for half a second). Overall, though, their prices are awesome. Especially if you're dating someone who likes the finer things in life! LOL Home Goods is a unique store. I always see things that I have never ever seen at any other store and/or did not know I needed. They always have a wide selection of hour glasses (which my fiancee loves), stuff for the house, and Caphalon cookware at very affordable prices. The downside, though, we wanted to do our wedding registry there, but could not, because once you see something you love, buy it or kiss it farewell. Their pet department always has affordable doggy bags (for picking up after your pets!), and bedding and cheap toys. They also have lots of decor and gifts for the pet lover in your home. I always see "designer" pastas and oils, and wonder who buys that stuff? $12 for a bag of spaghetti? Really? But, if you ever need to buy a white elephant, secret santa, or birthday gift, you're guaranteed to find something that will definately make that person smile. Both stores share the cashier area and the lines can be absurd at times. Wait for them to call for back up or walk around the store for ten more minutes until the line goes down a bit, I bet you'll find something else you didn't know you wanted and can now not live without. read more

If you want someone to be rude to you while you're paying for items at their store, then come shop here! I will be sticking to other locations from now on. Attached to Home Goods so you can shop both at the same time. Didn't have a large selection of dresses that I was looking for. Had tons of maxi dresses and they were nice but hardly any short dresses. Left empty handed. The shoe section was decent. read more

This TJ Maxx really has the deals. I found two hair products that sell for a little under $20 each, and I got both for $15 with tax. Thank you TJ MAXX! Additionally, this location is clean, organized (at least when I've been) and it's connected to Home Goods which also has great stuff. Employees I have encountered have been really great. Employees in the store extremely rude and the lines are always long at least 20 or 30 people deep at any time. Whatever you do don't you dare get a gift card because you can't get a balance unless you stand in line and wait throughout all those people to get it or call first. I personally went to the store about a month or so ago and got screamed at by one of the cashiers so naturally I lost it with her but fortunately one of the managers came over and took over and made that rude cashier leave before she got fired. The manager handled the situation professionally and did a great job with me. I have never had a single employee be helpful especially the greeters they're extremely rude. The lines are never open like I said so expect a wait.God help you if you think they're gonna open up a line for you because they will not. At closing time,boy when they're ready to close that store down they will run you out of there quick because they are ready to go home!!!! I don't plan on shopping at the store again I will gladly drive down the road and shop somewhere else stand these people here. Gosh I love TJ Maxx, plus this one is attached to a Home Goods. The only reason why this place gets 4 stars from me is because it is not always fully organized and stocked on weekends. BUT, come Monday-Thursday and you will easily find a ton of stuff. I always find great stuff for work here as well as luggage and bags. Their shoe selection is great and I have found 2 pairs of shoes at just this location that are daily favorites. Also got some great deals on wall art and if I actually cared to Martha Stewart my place up, I would find a ton of stuff here. I will not shop here again!!!! I never felt so harassed in my life. Yesterday I went into TJ max and tried on 4 garments. I handed them to the fitting room personal and she checked them which I understand. But the way she was checking them and looking at me made me uncomfortable but I understand as I was store manager for a retail store. It's for lost prevention purposes. I try on my 4 garments and liked two so I go back to the fitting room attendant and hand her the 2 I will not be taking and try to procede to check out. She quickly stopped me and requested to check my two items that I was going to purchase. I don't see why she needed to check the two that I would take as she had already seen them prior to me trying them on. And it was also the way she checked them. She was searching the pockets as I could of possibly stole something inside the fitting room like there's any clothes left behind. I would understand before entering but after like really and I was not even carrying a purse to steal anything. As she was checking my clothes I told her I didn't want it anymore and she made me feel like a thief and she was looking at me while I was on the sales floor like I was going to steal when I was simply trying to find my way out the store. Clean and organized. I usually go there in the morning so I never experience a long line. Their clearance rack usually has a good amount of nice selections. The staff have all been very professional and polite when I go there. Dressing room is always clean (that's a big thing to me, lol). Definitely one of my most shopped at store. read more

I love this TJ Maxx location! It's conveniently located near where I live so I'm a little biased :P from my experiences visiting here, it's always been clean and I love coming over here early on Saturday mornings so I can look at all of the new items they have. The checkout line can get pretty long at times when they only have two cashiers working but a huge line of people. I've never had a bad customer service experience at this location. read more

The most rudest managers I ever gave a job interview to! went their for a job interview they emailed me to schedule the interview when I called them their manager CHRIS told me we don't do interviews on weekends and then hang up on me I already didn't like her attitude but still managed to call them on Monday for an interview and when I went their on the same day manager Chris's attitude was even worse the hiring manager was taking my interview and when she asked me about my timing and I explained her what times I'm available Chris interrupted and started shaming me because of my timings by saying I need to be available anytime if i want to work in tj max I mean how can anybody be available anytime "you gave us option in the application that we can choose our timing of working and if you doesn't like timings of the applicants why even you gave the option for that then and why do you even manage to email the same applicant for the interview" !! Welcome to the garage sale...boy does the holiday make it so much worse. I came in once prior and spotted a pair of Lucky jeans, so I thought I would come back during the busiest shopping days of the year before xmas. HA! Thankfully I found the one pair in my size. On the way to the fitting room I found a nice watch in the case. I had to be decisive pretty quick as help was hard to come by. Of course I couldnt buy my jeans with the watch because the grinch behind the counter wanted me to stand in the line in the front of the store that wrapped around the front three times... One of my favorite stores to shop at. It's gets pretty packed on the weekends. I love how it's connected to a home goods so you can conveniently get all ur shopping done at one place. The selections they have can vary depending on the day you go. By the end of the week this place pretty much gets cleared out and you're not going to find anything good. read more
