I am far from a large city, and I needed a specialty type of grout. So I looked online and found that floor and decor had the very same stock number of the grout I needed. I went online and placed my order. I was going to be driving through Houston the following day so I scheduled to be picked up in Houston. Why if one is on a trip, you don't want to spend a lot of time waiting on an order. When you order online from floor and decor, your order is placed with the store that you choose and they have you scheduled a one hour timeframe when you want to pick it up. Terrible experience.. used the design center. Picked out the flooring we wanted and scheduled a measurement. Person (estimator) came, measured and we discussed the condition of the existing floor (some cracked tiles), and correction options. She said she'll get back to us with the quote and after 7 days with no contact, we called to find they had canceled the work order. NO CALL, NO COMMUNICATION, NO ALTERNATIVES, NOTHING. Got the typical apology from the store but no solutions. They have only ONE subcontractor, and really ZERO customer service. My wife and I have been remodeling our house and your staff has been very helpful. We have been buying from your locations professionally and privately for several years now. Today I went back to the store to return some items that my installer did not want to use. You guys took them back with no issue. However, I was reprimanded by your operation manager on my way out for complimenting your team. When I came in the loading bay area to the counter for my return, all 4 staff members looked up and smiled at me. I thought that this was outstanding. I complimented them by saying that I was glad to see they were drinking the kool aid and were so happy and full of smiles. As management, and I am, having customer service members greeting people in such a positive way is gold. It did not take long , however, for the positive energy to be negated. The operations manager grabbed me on my way out. (Elser) He wanted me to know that my comments were not appreciated and that I had offended your staff. I was floored (no pun intended). I literally said for complimenting their smiles? He said no, the second part. Apparently Kool Aid is so offensive he couldn't even say it to me. What is astonishing is that A. he felt he needed to stop me and reprimand me for my compliment, B. he didn't tell the staff member to grow up and keep smiling. C. I am not your staff or employee, and since no vulgarity or foul language was used and I was dressed appropriately, he should have never have stopped me. I saw a bus stop here once, I was floored. It was a double Decor. They're actually pretty affordable compared to some of the Katy alternatives, and we were pretty sure that we were going to give them four stars based on our only and single shopping experience here, which was mainly Barbi's influence, because she likes to go in every store in Katy apparently. The only reason I personally overruled her preference and decided to lower it two or three is because I see so many five star reviews written on here, that were clearly not actually written by customers and that always rubs me slightly the wrong way and makes me more prone to knock a star off which is what I did. We have been searching for flooring to replace the aging carpet and wood parquet in the downstairs area of our home. Visited a few places and finally came across Floor & Decor, I'm glad we did. Extensive inventory with knowledgeable and helpful staff, a huge comfortable store and very good prices. I picked up the 1100 ft2 today - what a workout unloading in my garage I'll tell ya. We did have one of the 89 boxes that was damaged - it was absolutely no problem returning it for a replacement! After talking to my contractor I went in to make the purchase at the contractor area. I wish I could split the stars in two different categories. Salesman vs the rest of the experience. Because, when I did go back to ask questions about the product I received, Nicole and Richard were fabulous. Nicole was highly trained on the Schluter products, as well as everything I asked. Richard, who has hands on experience, was able to give me tips to shave some of the mounting costs from my project. His expertise and accessibility was greatly appreciated. Because of the two of them, I did make very large additional purchases. At the end of the day.... It's the in store packing of the delivery side and the accountability where the problems begin. (Make no mistake, they are big problems) But, as far as sales and knowledgeable staff, I would rate a five star. My suggestion: Go to the store, pick out each tile individually (yourself) and carry it out yourself. Which means paying your own person. But, worth it to not go thru what we did. It still took over 2 weeks for a couple thousand to be credited back to my account (and if I wasn't off work for Harvey repair, it would have been much longer. There is no way someone with a demanding job could go thru the hoops I did, to correct a debacle they caused.) But again, the sales people in the store are worthy of 5 stars. I recently purchased tile from this location for my kitchen backsplash. I received a great price for the tile and was happy with my purchase. The reason for not giving them a higher rating is because of their customer service. I asked them to calculate how much tile I would need based on the square footage I gave them, they recommended 5 boxes, I purchased 6 for just in case. Come to find out, they miscalculated and I ended up being 1 box short. As an aside, ff you don't know this, Floor & Decor tends to carry low stock or discontinued tile so they more than likely will not have your tile available very long after your purchase. If I was aware of this fact, I probably would of purchased even more, but I was unaware and when I went back to the store 2 weeks later, they were out of stock for my tile. The manager on duty was pompous and had little care for my predicament. He told me that none of the other locations had it in stock and that was too bad. The company I hired to install the tile, Rosenberg Carpet, which I highly recommend, took it upon themselves to track down the last box of this tile from a Floor & Decor store located on 45 and 1960 and then drove over there to pick it up and bring it back to my home. Mind you, I live in the Richmond area. So keep it in mind that you can receive a decent price on your tile, but they may not have it in stock at a later date and they will not care if you are left in a lurch. read more

In the middle of a kitchen remodel and very glad we went to this location. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We special ordered some marble and when some came in broken they automatically ordered from another store and had it fast. Knowledgeable staff helped recommend sealers and they even had matching switch plate covers. Made it very easy to return samples as well. We had chosen another design, however, we both had compromised on "our personal likes". With Designer Beth's assistance, we both "Loved" the walk in shower, wall tile choice, the shower floor, tile choice and the bathroom floor, tile choice, including the appropriate grout colors! A couple of months ago we began working with Caitlan Derrett, an in home designer with Floor & Decor, as we began our master bathroom renovation. We paid $99 for the in home consultation and it was $99 well spent. Caitlan was patient, offered wonderful suggestions, and produced drawings to help us visualize our project. She stayed in contact, and met with us in the store when we wanted to look at additional tile samples. We found her courteous, helpful and thorough. I have done many DIY projects over the last few years, and Floor & Decor Katy is my go-to source for all things related to flooring, stain, backsplashes, and countertops. The displays are done very well and the variety of materials is top-notch! The team is welcoming and helpful. In the last month alone I have made 3 different trips to the store, and each time someone different has provided OUTSTANDING customer service. For wood flooring and underlayment, Sean was the pro with great advice! For countertops, Dede helped me discuss options and price points as well as good combinations of materials. She pointed out materials that were on special that really work with my aesthetic, so I saved a ton! Timothy and Pedro assisted me with the purchase of dark limestone flooring. I've been dealing for Installations Made Easy, which is a Floor and Décor company. Essentially, you buy the materials from F&D and IME will put you with vetted contractor, bonded, etc. Here's the rub. The warranties are not held by IME or F&D. You are screwed if things go sideways with the contractor. In my case, I've been working with Nicole Conway at IME. She sent another contractor out to review the work that needs to be completed. The contractor refused to take the job. She told me that they do not have anyone else. There are five boards that didn't stick and the contractor messed up 5 T-molds at ~78/ea. There's 390 dollars. Then the contractor sent a guy in to undercut my door jams. They were already set .5 inches off the foundation. At minimum, they needed 1/8" undercut. This cut DESTROYED all of my work. I paid a guy 7-8 hundred to help me sand, prime, sand, paint, install, wood fill, sand and paint the second coat over two weeks and 15 doors. I had to redo every one of them at my expense thus far. I got tired of waiting. F&D are supposed to call when the materials arrive. They don't. I've had to call them every time. The materials had sat there for weeks. I ended up installing the T molds and molding around the chimney. This required a coat of stain and 3 coats of poly on thee of the boards, because F&D does not carry anything long enough or correct for the chimney. More work for me. I have more of my time going back and forth getting materials the contractor messed up and doing the work myself. By Nicole's point of view, I've already voided the warranty that IME does not hold. The warranty is held with a contractor I do not want back in my home. Aside from the above mess, they never showed up on time and called me minutes before arriving when it was convenient for them. F&D may have some great products, but I would recommend that you stay clear of IME. Installations Made Easy is a joke. They have zero accountability with their "certified" contractors. This is my first review of any store sad to leave a bad review. ZERO Rating is not possible. We have shopped multiple times at floor and decor katy over last 6 months with material over 15000$ for our home remodel. Sales reps very cordial and helpful before getting the orders none post sales even the sales counters are understaffed with long wait times and reps hard to find. My project got delayed due to some reasons which led to few large format porcelain tiles (3 ft x 6 ft) return policy rule of beyond 90 days which I was not told about while buying the tiles by any of the reps and sadly I came to know about the 90 day return rule on hauling 4 large tiles in my SUV (tiles are very heavy and pain to haul around) store manager had/has the discretion to accept them as floor and decor have these same tiles on sale currently he and counter sales reps lied bluntly and were also grinning/smiling at my predicament of hauling these large tiles back to my house horrible people to deal with they let me on a goose chase of some retail equation third party where I have to plead to take back the unused tiles - if I could go back in time I will not deal or shop with Floor and Decor Katy again absolutely horrible lying people no ethics and customer service read more
