Though outside won't give you the awe-factor appearance nor will the inside decor, but everything else will. The restaurant staff's service and friendliness is always 100%. Also, for being post COVID pandemic their prices are very excellent compared to neighboring breakfast places. This is my third time back and today it's for Father's Day. Of all the places we can drive to, my dad really loves them! He raves about their hash browns: perfectly crunchy yet soft in the right places. I've had a few items at this point and everything always tastes great. They're very popular so there seems to always be a wait in my every visit. The smaller parties get seated quicker like any place. Very family friendly: from the very young to the very old (who use a cane). The bathroom isn't wheelchair accessible from a glance today. If this is not a factor for you or for your party, Homer's Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

#14/2022 Well it's really two and a half stars but I'm giving the benefit of the three. This place has been in the shopping plaza for a long time this is the first time I've ever come down for breakfast and I was not very impressed. There was really nothing that stood out. I walked in I sat down ordered up some coffee I saw that they had Xfinity Wi-Fi tried to log on to it said you needed a code. I asked a waitress for it and she said oh it's a very long one and I don't know what it is I'll try to get the cook to get it to me. Well that never happened the whole time she was kind of aloof about the whole thing but it is what it is. I ordered a traditional eggs benedict with hash browns. The eggs were nicely poached the Hollandaise sauce was standard good the hash browns or a little on the greasy side but they were okay too but nothing to really rave about. This is a small storefront classic strip mall not big at all very quaint but when you open the door it does bring in a draft many people had their jackets on. It definitely gears towards locals for the most part but I have a usual place I prefer when I'm home but it was a little crowded on the Saturday morning so I opted to have someplace else and I thought I'd try this place had been here I don't know close to 10 years maybe or so. Only open in the mornings like many places strictly for breakfast into early lunch and close by 2:00 p.m.. But all in all first impressions it's just small Cafe with decent food but nothing that really stands out but I gave it the three stars instead of two and a half. Will I return? It's nothing I would make a point to say oh boy I can't wait to come down here and go eat again but if I end up here then I do but it wouldn't be one of my top choices got to be honest.

Quick service, great tasting breakfast dishes. Very friendly staff! Our go to place for quick satisfying breakfast.

This place is a secret little gem in Homer Glen. It's small but packs a fresh homemade punch. The food is delicious. I have not had a bad meal here. They have these home fries that are amazing. The pancakes are like my Mom's: Fluffy and amazing. The breakfast wrap is by far my favorite dish. The servers are friendly and accommodating. The coffee is always fresh and hot. Whenever I'm here, I see neighbors reminiscing and catching up. It's truly a Locals place.

Very casual breakfast/lunch spot in Homer Glen, IL. Service is attentive but not overbearing. Food has always been very good. Portions are plentiful. Plenty of free parking.

She was so sweet, service with a smile. We started with a couple of their handcrafted cocktails. Hubby had tonight's special drink, a Gold Rush. I had the sister to a Gold Rush, a Bees Knees. It's just a matter of bourbon vs gin. Both are refreshing cocktails made with honey and lemon. We shared the Spanish octopus to begin, a perfectly grilled octopus tentacle in a romesco sauce topped with pico de gallo and toasted almonds. We thoroughly enjoyed it. A generous portion and so tender. Hubby had the Saturday night special, the smoked prime rib. It came with grilled vegetables and truffle fries. He had this speciality last time. This time it was so fatty (see photo). I had the grouper puttanesca with couscous. I love grouper but I felt it was salty. With capers and anchovy, the fish didn't need salt as these things bring salt to the dish. However, our entrees were generous in size and tasty. We definitely like this restaurant. They have a loyalty program, plenty of seating inside and out, a nice bar area and a Vegas-style gaming room. Phoenix Kitchen even nixed using seed oil at their restaurant. We did miss out on the complimentary house-made limoncello this time. What's up with that?!

The service was quick and attentive, and although the place was busy we didn't have to wait on a Friday night. We were fairly unfamiliar with the menu options but came with a big appetite, our waiter recommended the empanadas for an appetizer and they were great! Perfectly fried and super crispy, and you could tell the oil they were using was clean which is always a great sign for the rest of the experience for me. The decorations were SUPER cool. They went over the top for the holidays. Even if it's almost February... Both my lady and I ordered margaritas, and they were the best we've had since we moved down. They were STRONG, but not overly so. 1 was enough, 2nd was for fun. As we were leaving the table next to us ordered a pour of tequila and they did it tableside. I had the Colombian flank steak plate. While I can say I came with a big appetite and I can eat, this was about the first time I can say I left a restaurant still hungry. I knew what I was getting into since the menu did state the size of the steak, and I guess it's not a huge minus I left wanting more! The margaritas probably played a part too. The plate was phenomenal. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it was a little on the rare side which I don't mind at all. Everything molded perfectly and no flavor overpowered the other. One of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. The only thing holding back this place from a 5 is the portions and prices. $4 for two shrimp seemed insane, and adding options to the margaritas makes each one almost $16. It certainly doesn't deserve the low 3 star rating on this app. Can't wait to come back!

Our server--who was also tending bar--took our drink orders. Soft drinks arrived promptly, and we asked for a few extra minutes to look things over. I considered a burger, but at $25 it felt a bit steep, so we went with a mix of other dishes: Cedar Plank Salmon with Basil Soup, a Keto Cobb Salad with dressing on the side, The Park Reuben with fries, and a Blackened Chicken Panini with fries. Impressively, everything came out in about ten minutes. The Reuben and the Panini were both solid choices, though the fries were only room temperature. The salmon had great flavor, though the rice could have been a bit more cohesive. The Cobb salad hit the mark--fresh, satisfying, and easy to customize with the dressing on the side. Our server checked in regularly and kept our drinks refilled. The crowd was a mix of regulars, retirees, and casual diners, and we found ourselves eyeing other entrées as they passed by. The restaurant also has a great patio that will be perfect once the weather warms up, plus a well‑appointed bar area with plenty of TVs. Winter Olympics highlights were playing during our visit, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. We took a look at the dessert menu, but nothing really grabbed us this time. Even so, we all agreed we'd come back to try more of the menu--there's definitely potential here.

They put the red sauce on the side to add your preferred amount. Any entree to split does add a $1.50 gratuity. Others in our group got The Girl's Signature Truffle Shuffle Burger and The Philly. The flavors were great, sandwich portions were large, but fries could have been crispier. Our server Souzie was incredibly kind, full of energy, and did a great job checking in on us. The items vary in price where some are value driven and some seem to be a premium. Overall, thoroughly impressed by my visit and the food quality. When we arrived, the place felt empty, which was surprising given that it was Columbus Day and many people were off of work and school. Our waitress was friendly and checked in on us frequently, and the dining room was clean, but the food was just mediocre. We started with bruschetta ($10) and cheese curds ($11) for appetizers. When the cheese curds arrived, we were pretty confused because they looked more like chicken tenders than cheese curds. They were greasy, puffy, and barely had any cheese inside. They didn't taste good at all, so one of my friends let the waitress know we didn't like them, and she took them back without issue. The bruschetta was much better and made with fresh ingredients, but it lacked flavor despite the freshness. We did finish these, though. For my entrée, I kept it simple and ordered six chicken tenders ($10) with a side of BBQ sauce. They were decent--crispy and well-cooked--but lacked any real standout flavor or seasoning. As for my friends, they were generally pleased with their meals. One ordered the crispy chicken sandwich ($14), which she enjoyed, though she was disappointed she didn't realize she could have added sauce. The waitress hadn't asked if she wanted any, and my friend must have missed this on the menu, so a reminder would have been helpful. My friend did like the sandwich's crispy texture, though. My other friend had the Cajun pasta ($12), which she liked a lot. It had a nice spicy kick and came with two pieces of garlic bread. All in all, I don't think I'd rush back here. The menu has a lot of options, and the prices are reasonable, but nothing we had stood out enough to make me want to return.

This included the option of picking one of the 2 soups they had available. We elected to pick a cup of the soup of the day which was lasagna soup and waffle sweet potato fries with the other dinner. The lasagna soup arrived first. It was excellent. It was served at a nice hot temperature with a rich seasoned tomato base that had little lasagna pieces in addition to some vegetables. Our fish dinners then arrived. There was an impressive amount of first serving fish at least 5 pieces each plate. The taste of the pollack fillets was fresh and tender. We both felt that the breeding was too thick and very salty for our taste. Unfortunately we noticed the taste of the breading was probably also negatively affected because the oil being overused. We enjoyed the fish by pulling off the majority of the breading and just eating the fish. We did not order any additional fish because the initial portion was enormous. The accompanied waffle sweet fries were not our favorite. They were pretty this which didn't allow for much sweet potato taste. They also absorbed the oil taste which was unappealing. The coleslaw was fresh but seasoned to lightly with very little sauce. Final thoughts were that the soup was our favorite. The pricing is definitely value for AYCE pollack. Fish was fresh and flakey. Too muck breading and salt with an unpleasant oily taste.
