Buyer beware, unlike its competitors you will have to pay a service fee if anything goes wrong with your equipment. They only cover parts if the equipment is malfunctioning. You are better off going with Vivint or ADT where they pay their technicians so you don't have to. Fun fact, the reason my equipment is broken is that they pushed a firmware update that bricked my panel's Z-wave antenna. Now they want 45 dollars to fix it. read more

This company is absolutely terrible. When I purchased my home, my builder told us we had to use HomePro. We were locked into a 3-year contract, with no idea how much of a nightmare this would be. I ended up having to move out of town right around the time our contract was ending. When I went to call to cancel, HomePro informed me that they require a 60-day notice. Nothing was sent to us letting us know. If you don't give a 60-day notice, you are locked into another YEAR contract with no way out of it except for paying $450 to cancel. We ended up paying the outrageous $450 fee to cancel, only to still receive bills from them. I just got charged another $43 monthly bill after we had cancelled. Customer service is horrendous. Each time I call, the woman in Billing is rude and dismissive. I asked why I keep receiving bills, told them I need to be refunded, and also demanded proof from them that my account is cancelled. I don't trust anything they say at this point. They flat out told me they aren't able to send any proof of that, or proof they plan to reimburse me. Just "call back in to ask the status of the reimbursement" is all they say. Really?? Where do I start, I just made an appointment for Home Pro to come out and repair a door sensor. I was told I had to pay upfront, which I had no problem with. Come to find out the part I had to have replaced was a magnet that fell out of the door. When the tech showed up with his ladder, he was confused. Nevertheless, he returned to his truck and popped in the magnet for the door. He was under the impression that it was a wired sensor that had to be programmed after replacement. But it took him less than a minute to replace and be on his way. I had no problems with the tech but when it came to the customer service dept. I called back to see if the part I paid for was AT($120.00). I was connected back to the sales rep. and when I questioned what I paid for she stated very abruptly "Yes what you got was $120 dollars. that was the part." Very unprofessional. Hot garbage!!! That's all you need to know about these folks. We spend $400k on a First Texas Home and this is the company who has the contract for all the low voltage work.... Horrible experience with the salesman named Justin Crumpler. When I left his glass cubical I felt as if HomePro got the leftovers who couldn't even provide customer service at used car lots. Yes, my experience with him was that bad. The whole point of your visit there is to design your layout of al the low voltage items in your custom built home. This person kept telling me where he wants things and not even listening to where I was telling him the way the layout was going to be. I informed him that we already had a theater room designed by Starpower and Home Automation Services. He kept trying to push their subpar products, again not listening to what I was telling him. Next came the build process, there is no quality control being utilized by this company. Installers show up, perform the work, and leave. They installed someone else's wiring layout in my house. It took me to be the one who had to be at the home each time to see what they were doing after rework had to be performed on 3 occasions. HomePro has chosen to use the "SAVANT" system for their home automation. The system doesn't even communicate with the garage doors correctly as they said it would. The APP constantly shows the garage open regardless of the actual position of the doors. Then when you tell it to open and close, it doesn't even move. So here is the kicker.... anytime that you add a home automation product to your house and want it on the SAVANT system.... you have to pay to have their technicians come back out and program SAVANT. After multiple calls, I have found out Home Pro will not be honoring their promises. In addition, after leaving multiple message for a manager who was supposed to call me back after he got back inside, after he got out of a meeting, after the finished his call, and then after 24 -48 hours, I still don't have any answers. Oh, and let's give a big shout out to Mr. NO ANSWER's BRODIE who could not give two S&%Ts about his job or my concerns and hung up on me. So let me just say this.... Home Pro is great at the selling process. They suck for customer service. Run away and don't look back. When they came out to start the first part of the install, they were not even trained enough apparently to cut a hole for a box that they were supposed to install. I was referred to HomePro by our new insurance agent. After living on the east coast for most of a nearly 30 year military family career, moving to Texas was...different! Kathleen, our representative, is AMAZING! Flexible, friendly, funny--a delight in a new place where we feel we know no one and have no friends. She helped us decide just what we needed, didn't try to oversell and treated us like we were family. Turns out her supervisor, Curtis is from the very same area as I am, and made this very big state feel like a SUPER small world after all with his courtesy and commitment to our satisfaction and feeling like we are protected like family! Lorenzo installed the system and was so friendly, kind and helpful. He paid attention to detail for the job, helped us figure out and set our panel up and did an excellent job of helping us feel like we are in the best hands. We've always used ADT with USAA but feel we are getting WAY more coverage and protection, for less each month. That's great, of course, but truly, the best part is knowing the people who are working to take care of you and feeling like you're a relationship, not just another customer number. HIGHLY recommend! I know others on yelp seem like they may have had less than stellar experiences, but I am surprised because they have incredible Google ratings and I feel like if I ever had ANY issue with anything, I'd have several people who'd be able to help me. They renew one year terms of contract without notice and require 60 days prior notice for you to terminate the contract so if you're one day late you can't cancel your contract for an entire year it's ridiculous it's Sneaky and it's not good business. We have been with them since we bought our home back in July 2020. Our cameras have been in and out of sync since because you need internet to stay connected and if there is an outage in your area, cameras go out of wack. Finally the cameras went out December 2022. I sent emails for a request for a home service and didn't hear back so today I called and was transferred to a Tech. He said cameras were showing not connected and it would cost $45 to send a technician out to service us!!! Wow!!! Not happy about this. We didn't schedule anything because $45 service fee is ridiculous. Our pest control comes out for free when I call for service. If we knew this, we would never have signed any contact with Homepro. I do not recommend Homepro. Now we're considering switching services and bailing on our contract. read more

HomePro was a no show for looking at a camera that was not working. I have been a security client for almost 7 years, along with then putting in my entertainment center. I received a text the day before confirming the service appointment between 8 and noon the next day. I called before noon and I was told that I was the next stop. I called a few hours later and I was told I had an afternoon appointment, which was false. I sent over my 8-noon confirmation and I was told that was wrong. WHAT? Customer service was supposed to contact me 11 days ago and that never happened. HomePro does not care about their customers. Many of my neighbors have had issues with them. Worst security company ever!! Do not recommend. I bought a new house which was a model house before which had the DXC security equipment and cameras. Builder gave the contact of homepro security. Upon approaching homepro security the sales guy Brandon said "Oh Yes, all system is installed by us and we can come in and install your security system including the cameras since the entire system was done by us." Trusting that I got into the contract with homepro security for 3 years. Guess what the sales guy just wanted to get me under the contract!! The first tech (David) didn't have any clue on how cameras work and didn't know how to hook up the DXC security system installed in the home. So he scrapped out everything the model home had and replaced the system with a 2 GiG system with just one motion sensor & one panel while the home had 2 of each. He left house promising someone will contact me back for cameras. I did not hear from anyone then I escalated the issue, they gave me additional motion sensor plus additional panel and sent the media tech who knows about camera. The media tech said cameras are from "clare controls" and he doesn't have a clue how these cameras work. Called homepro again and made the appointment for them to send a "Clare Control" tech. The new tech comes in and he says the cameras are not from homepro and the sales guy actually had mis-informed about them at the first place. Called homepro again, escalated the issue. They make a service appointment for another media tech on 09/26. A sales / tech manager guy named Darrell reaches out from homepro and said he will do all in his power to work with media tech remotely and get the cameras working. I was relieved that somehow things are moving in some direction. Guess what, Waited like a fool on 9/26 at the assigned timeslot. Nobody shows up, nobody calls. Finally reached out to homepro again. Sales lady Trisha tells me that the tech is busy with other appointments and will come later in the evening. Again you don't have to guess, nobody showed up, nobody cared to call. I was on hold with another sales lady for about 30 mins today!! Call dropped!! What an ugly way to get a customer hooked up on a contract!! Working with HomeProTech company is a nightmare!! Our builder used HomePro for options in the house. Our sale rep at the store in Austin when we initially went in was great, very informative, left the room so we could discuss things. Then when HP thought we should be closing, they called every day for a month to schedule an orientation. Every time they called I had to say we don't have a date please stop calling. They claimed that if we didn't have this orientation that we would lose our warranty, but no one could tell me what the warranty covered so i could make the decision. Then when we did have a date we made an orientation appointment. The regional manager showed up unannounced and tried up selling us for an hour after us repeatedly saying we weren't interested. The regional manager then moved our appointment from an in person to a phone call the day before. Come appointment day the phone call was 2 hours late, and it was just to up sale us again by the regional manager. We again told him we weren't interested and he said he would call us back in a week. We never got an orientation so no telling if there is actually a warranty we qualify for or if it was just a giant scam. We will not be using them for future needs. read more

It's been not even 9months since we've moved into our new home and we had homepro alarm and their built in surround sounds in the living room, kitchen, outdoor patio, and the movie room. I can't say that the sound isn't good but the issue we have is we cannot turn the volume up or down or change channels. This damn receiver has a mind of its own turns on in the middle of the night and all. We spent over 10k on this shit and wouldn't recommend it to no body. We have escalated issues to the top of management, where they were insensitive and unprofessional. Our entry camera has been replaced more than once and we have had intermittent service and outages on multiple occasions. Customer service, quality of service and knowledge are terrible. Update - HomePro responded to my review on Google and asked me to call Brent at extension 214. I have called Brent 6 times, left 3 messages (including today) and spoke with him 3 times. Each time we talk he indicates that the person he needs to speak to will be available soon and he will call me back later that day. I have yet to receive a call back from Brent from either my messages or when he promises to call back. HomePro continues to demonstrate poor customer service. Original below... Awful customer service, lock you into contracts for equipment that doesn't work and technology that is terrible. Save your money and go with Ring, SimpliSafe, etc... They autorenewed me and ended up buying out my contract because I would rather end my relationship with them than continue paying them every month. I would not even give this a 1 star. I signed a contract last March of 2020 when I moved in to my new home. The sales man was very nice and explain the contract to me in details. Just before I sign a contract I always ask if an equipment fails and I have to request for a service call will I be charge. My sales man said "no" I spent a lot of money for a three year contract. My point is, after 4 years, my door bell camera gave out. I called Home Pro and requested for a service call to have my door bell fix. Shocking enough, the service rep advised me that i have to pay a service call for them to come in and check the door bell camera. I spoke with three different service advisor and those people are rude and does not care about their client. I ask for a supervisor and spoke with one. The supervisor also told me that its company policy. So I ask the supervisor, since my contract was up how do I go in cancelling my contract. I was shocked when he informed me that I have to pay $686 to cancel my contract because I signed a 5 year contract. I told him "no" I only sign for a three year contract. All I want is for them to fix my door bell camera and honor the sales man word that I don't have to pay any service charge. So lesson learned, do not believe your sale man. Read your contract and make sure double check on how many years is your contract good for. Lastly don't use with this company. Go some where else. Camera went out within a year. It's been over 3 weeks with constant missed appointments, false promises and overall lack of concern on thier end to get my home security up and running. Description: 2nd time reaching out about getting my camera Fixed. 1st . Tech shows up on the wrong day. Appt was for Thursday did not show up until Friday and by his own admission did not stop because there were no cars in the driveway. Wrong phone was called by said technician even though the correct number has been updated months ago. After sending email, tech shows up on Monday. Recently bought a home and had the system installed and within the first 3 1/2 months the wall panel system randomly goes off when set to "Arm". This first time it happened I thought okay maybe I accidentally rolled over on my phone in the middle of the night while sleep, tripped the alarm, scared the shit out of myself & now there's a whole swat team at my door at 2:30AM. However, once I noticed that the system was doing it on its own (After the 3rd encounter with law enforcement at my door at the wee hours of the morning) I immediately contacted HomePro. . a real life nightmare. The rep told me I would have to pay a $50 service fee to have someone come out to which I politely asked why am I paying a service fee for a fucking brand new security system that is defective at no fault of my own??? Update: We're good now. They did correct the switch, and came back and fixed the wiring. Make sure to check your panel though, there is absolutely no good reason that a house with Cat6 wiring should have any 10/100 switches. We got the upgraded structured wiring panel. New homeownership is a blur and I figured I'd go with the guy in front of me for now and if I found something better later I'd switch. Guess not. This, and the 60 day notice of cancellation policy or else they renew you for an entire year with no way out, is blatantly predatory practices. Who is Zach W. of HomePro by the way? I've not received one telephone call, Email or registered letter from anyone named Zach W. from HomePro. Not one! Clearly truth and facts escape you! I've actually sent four (4) separate, certified with return receipt, letters via US Mail to HomePro, Carrollton, TX. The last arrived at HomePro and was signed for on 07 March 2018. In my letter to HomePro dated 07 February 2018, I stated, "I welcome and will entertain any and all questions in writing that you . . . may have." Also included in that same letter was the reference: Texas Law Penal Code - PENAL § 31.03. Theft. I also stated, "There is zero doubt in my mind that crime has been committed and that Texas law has been broken. I'm sure you can understand the caution I must now exercise to protect myself from additional harm that a little chit chat on the phone might produce." Additionally, in the same letter, I state, "I feel it best to restrict our communication(s) to written letter(s) so that each and every word may be established and misunderstandings kept to a healthy acceptable minimum." Since I sent this letter to HomePro, all I've heard back is silence. I've not heard anything from HomePro. Not a peep! Rest assured, the items taken / stolen / removed from my residence, that I'm aware of, have been well identified, documented and described in detail to law enforcement officials. Please do not try to bully me or intimidate me simply for informing others and trying to protect the public from what I experienced first hand.
