Love the atmosphere. Not busy and loud. Food is great too. Bison meatloaf is must-try.

Our server Matt was excellent. Highly recommend this place. The food was delicious. The spinach dip was mouthwatering, the steak perfectly cooked and the half baked cookie was amazing. Our server even gave us a free dessert for guessing a singer of the song that was playing correctly. It was a prefect date night. read more

Went for a small family birthday dinner for adult daughter and REALLY enjoyed! The service was surprisingly high-calibre, and the food, from appetizer to desert was very good quality. The only downside I can point to is that, in MY opinion, the menu could stand to have a few more choices. Other than that, I would definitely recommend. read more

Food came out and it was all cold and the place wasn't even busy . Food is overpriced ad not a great selection . Staff were friendly but I won't be back again read more

Wanting a restaurant on the west end that took group reservations and got decent reviews, I came across Homefire Grill and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu is an interesting mix of traditional and wild game dishes (I had the bison meatloaf and my husband had the elk lasagne), the service was wonderful and the atmosphere seemed to be influenced by Native American culture. This would be a great place to take someone visiting from another country to experience wild Canadian game! We would definitely go back. read more

I never give full ratings for any service. There is always room for improvement. That said, our evening at the out of the way restaurant was a very enjoyable experience. The welcoming decor, the ambiance, the menu, the service, and the delicious meal provided a full sensory experience. The texture of the tender bison meat just melting on my tongue along with the accompanying bannock was a treat. Simple meal that was simply delicious. A feast for the eyes and the appetite! Enjoy! read more

Have been to this place only once, and can't say that either the food or the visit itself was very memorable. Homefire Bar and Grill is located in West End, and even though it is in close proximity to a couple of hotels, the place is not particularly busy. The décor is rather sleek and sophisticated, the lights are dim, the atmosphere is relaxed, and calls for a drink and a nice long conversation with a friend. The service left a lot to be desired: 10 minutes passed before the waiter approached us and inquired whether we wanted anything to drink, and then took his sweet time to brings those drinks to the table. My drink was Long Island Iced Tea and it tasted as if it was diluted with water. When it was time to order food, I went for Mandarin Thai Salad and grilled Wild Coho Salmon. Both were reasonably priced, and portion sizes were big. The taste, on the hand, was only ok. Mandarin salad had a perfectly balanced taste, but mixed greens didn't taste particularly fresh or crispy. Salmon was a bit dry and tasteless; and also there was too much rice and steamed vegetables on the plate, and not enough salmon. Overall, this restaurant is worth visiting just to see if you will like the food. Don't expect top notch service though. read more

This is the best restaurant that Edmonton has to offer. Food is outstanding, waiters are very attentive , and very pleasant. Service is the best. A relaxing place to dine, and visit with your party. Whether you have a party of 12 or a party of 5, reservations are suggested, depending the time and occasion. We visit this restaurant often and can't say enough about the service, food and ambiance. read more

Our large extended family met in the Homefire Grill meeting room for a birthday party in early January and we were very pleased with both the service and the food. The staff were extremely accommodating and the menu choices, although standard fare, suited the wide range of ages and tastes in our group. The food was served quickly and efficiently and every effort was made to see that we were satisfied with our meals. The atmosphere of the restaurant is homey and welcoming but having a private room for our group made our party so much nicer. Kudos to Mathew and his staff. Thank you--we will definitely come again! read more

Steak was the only thing that was ok duchess potatoes were hockey pucks. The "Fresh vegetables" were a mix between brown and green beans. Meaning some were cooked three hours ago and the green ones were undercooked before both found each other along side our dry mound of tasteless not so mashed potatoes... Will not be coming back to this establishment ever again. The service wasn't anything spectacular. She asked how the food was and walked away from the table before we could even comment about our potatoes. read more

Sorry but this place was totally disappointing! Should of guessed from the outside... several light bulbs were out. Inside, although there were lots of empty tables, we were seated at the ONE table where the overhead light was burned out. Service was OK but the food was 5/10. The bannock was unlike ANY we have had before as it was too refined. We are from the NWT and know bannock... this was not that. My bison burger was horribly over cooked... and as we all know... that is a no-no with bison. The best thing about the burger was the dill pickle. Even the tomato was one of those horrible cardboard ones that have no taste. To top it off, the vegetables were cold and about one minute over done. Sigh. Our friend barely touched his meal, my sister ate her salmon as it was her first real meal after getting up from her sick bed, and my husband was generous and gave his ribs a 6 and the rest of the entree a 4. read more

Good atmosphere (normal, not stuffy or pretentious) followed by good food and friendly quick service. Very hard to beat a combination like that. read more

Great bison burgers and great staff. We had a group of three hang around at our table for almost 2 hours and were never rushed to order or leave, and our waiter was good about checking in to make sure we were ok. read more

My husband and I went for dinner on New Year's eve. It was our second visit in about 6 years. The meat is prepared very well and the service is good. The reason I'm not giving it a better rating and have waited so long between visits is that both times the vegetables were very undercooked. I don't want them mushy but I would like to be able to cut through them with a steak knife. read more

We made our reservations a week in advance online.as our group of 9 showed up on time our waiter was quick to take our drink/food order.the menu looked/sounded good bit a bit pricey ($7 for fried dough? ).as we waited we started to laugh a bit as a table next to us which sat down after us was already eating their dinner. We stopped laughing after they received the bill and left! After 50 minutes we were giving an excuse that this was a large group and someone did order their steak welldone! I was not amused at those silly comments. After an hour our food was starting to show up which looked good.i thought my bison meatloaf was a tad small and everyone who had mashed potatoes said they weren't hot enough. Our waiter did apologise and said % 25 would be taken off the bill and dessert was on the house. Although it was a nice offer some were a little too disappointed to have a free dessert. Overall food was good. Restaurant was nice and warm.Wait time was too long but then again who order's a steak welldone?!! With so many restaurants in this vicinity we may give Homefire Grill another chance .We just might have to place our order over the phone well before we get there... read more

I ordered the ribs, they were horrible. The mashed potatoes and sides were horrible as well. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because my girlfriend got the burger and it was good. We also got the cheesecake and it was the smallest piece of cake I have ever seen and it was the worst cheesecake I have ever tried read more

Went for lunch on Sunday with a few friends. Ordered lamb wrap, steak sandwich, both with sweet potato fries. Also got the bison meatball pizza & Indian Summer Salad. All the dishes were perfectly prepared, service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Sent one of our children's order to the wrong table. Brought it out and the burger was pink inside. Our waiter assured us that it was okay they tried to serve my child undercooked ground beef because it was taken off the bill!!! my boyfriends surprised me with a reservation here for valentines day! they had a special menu for the day of a 4 course meal. the appetizer was some salmon crostini, followed by a crab soup with bannock croutons which was fabulous. the main course we had 3 choices and we opted for the stuffed chicken breast with mushroom sauce on rice. It was delicious and the portion was generous. I didn't even have room for dessert which was a choice between the red velvet and chocolate cake. Since its all included we were able to take it all home. I had the red velvet later that night and it was the best red velvet I have ever had! The service was great. we of course made a reservation which last minute the only available one was at 430. Our drinks were never empty. I had a crazy monkey cocktail which I hadn't had one since a long ago beach vacation! It was wonderful. We wanted to send some drinks to another couple at a table and the staff obliged happily in arranging that for us without question. The only thing that surprised me at the end was the price. for two of us for both meals and two drinks each it was just over $200. Which seemed a little steep to me. But I understand its valentines day and everything is expensive everywhere but it was a bit of a shock. Otherwise the food was delightful and we want to go back on another day to try the regular menu. read more
