Really nice vibe inside. High ceilings with airy warehouse feel and high bright windows. Food is excellent and has variety. Servers were very pleasant. They have coffees and alcohol. Good for lunches. Free parking. They grow their own herbs and vegetables. Their Benny said 4 eggs but there are only 2 and the sweet onions were overpowering over the beef brisket.

The Workshop Eatery is not cheap, but it's not exoticly expensive either. Expect to pay $24 for a lunch item in 2024. It was busy when we arrived but we were seated immediately as there are lots of tables. The ambiant sound is under control which is really nice. We had no difficulty hearing each other (but I certainly wouldn't call it quiet either). They found the right noise balance. I ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich $23.00. It came with a good sized bowl of potato leak soup. This was a very filling meal so come hungry. My sandwich tasted very good although it seemed more like pulled pork than short ribs. My partner ordered the Ginger Chicken Bowl. I tasted the chicken from her dish and it was excellent. Our orders came fast but coffee refills did not arrive until our second attempt to flag down the server. Apparently the coffee was Americano so no refills. I recommend Workshop but, it's not perfect. I would have been happy with a smaller meal and drip coffee with refills. However the food is what counts and I can't complain about the quality. That's the most important thing isn't it.

Did not know this gem of a place existed so close to south side in Summerside. Their breakfast menu was pretty good. They had a special in mimosas for $8 on Sunday. Server Melissa was very nice and accommodating. One of my eggs didn't turn out like I wanted them to and she brought an extra one. It's massive restaurant with patio and bar seating.

Came here for my birthday brunch with some girlfriends and of course the food was fantastic! I ordered the scramble hash and it was so tasty and delicious!! All my friends also enjoyed their meals and the portion sizes were huge! Each dish is around $20-$25 but we definitely all had leftovers. My one friend said her omelette must have been 5 eggs cuz it was huge! I would recommend sharing a dish if you're like us and don't eat that much. Since it was my birthday, my friends ordered me a birthday dessert. It came to the table and they all sang to me which was sweet but then there was no candle for me to blow out!! And I never understand why they serve dessert with spoons instead of forks? Or maybe ask our preference cuz the spoon wasn't the best tool to tackle that brownie. I was really disappointed about not having a candle. :( My friends split my bill amongst them so not sure what the totals were. We also ordered 3 London fogs but what came were actually lattes which we had to send back to the kitchen. Our waitress also spilled water all over the table, thankfully it missed my phone! But not a big deal since she cleaned it up quite quickly. My water did go empty for a long period of time but I had other drinks so it was ok. I ordered an americano as well at the end of the meal and I'm not 100% sure what came was Americano or just regular coffee as if didn't taste as strong as espresso americano normally tastes. Anyways, I hope Workshop will invest in some candles for future birthday celebrations as it's just not the same without one.

Creme brule

We had a much better expereince than last time. Our server was amazing. Me and my friend split a bottle of wine. We had the smoked pickerel dip to start to share as well as the deviled eggs. I had the crusted pickerel while my friend had the salmon and we had the white chocolate creme brule for dessert. It is a nice enough restaurant. However the sitting isn't comfortable. And for a fine dining concept that seems to promote sharing of wine and plates, it certainly comfortable to sit in for any length of time. I would really change at least the chairs here. Menu is perfect. Enough for everyone but not too much to get ovewhelmed. Great wine, beer, and cocktail list. We had the most dreaded server pre-covid but this server was prompt, friendly and informative. Onto the food Smoked pickerel dip was tasty but perhaps a too bit runny and the everything bagel chips were the disappointment. Nothing like a bagel chip and flimsly fell apart when the dip was put ontop of it. Rice crackers would have held up better. CHANGE THIS. Also couldn't taste the pico de gallo even though it was ontop. Just give some sourdough bread or something. Or actual strong bagel chips that can withstand something more than a few molecules of dip. It isn't that hard to do and would make a big difference. I wouldn't order this again. Thankfully that was the low point of the evening. The deviled eggs were amazing. Interesting and full of flavour. Mustard and siracha was a good additions to these. They were perfectly whipped and I would for sure order this again. My Ontario pikerel was delicous. Perfectly cooked and the cornmeal crust was so nice and crispy. The corn and bacon risotto's richness paired so well with the clean fish. The chipolte pepper beurre blanc was a lovely addition. All and all a perfect dish. My friend was equally happy with her salmon. We both loved the creme brule. Lovely richness and well done. Price point is high. Food for sure is worth it. Not sure if dining area is.

WAKEY WAKEY EGGS N' BACEY

Celebrated the Mother's Day last month with a hearty brunch at Workshop Eatery! It was our first time trying out their brunch menu as the last time we were here, we tried their dinner & it was sooo good! We had the Wakey Wakey Eggs N' Bacey, Lox Benny & Workshop Reu-Bano. We all enjoyed what we had esp the bacon, ham, lox benny, reu-bano sandwich, chips & jam (for dipping or spreading)! The only thing I think they could improve on is their potato hash & scrambled eggs as they both lacked flavor. I had to sprinkle a lot of salt on both or add ketchup (unless it's meant to be that way for customers to do it on their own). It could be just a one time thing. This won't stop me from going back at Workshop Eatery though but will probably try the lunch menu next time. The service was a delight. The server who assisted was very attentive & accommodating to our requests. Nice service over-all. The over-all ambiance was pleasant. The place was booked up that morning when we went & everyone was well attended for.

I've only been to Workshop Eatery twice, but omg I hope to come back way more. Although I've only been here twice, this is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Edmonton. The first time that I was here it was for a work lunch. The second was for a wedding! Both times I have been blown away by the food and service. Their prices are so good for the high quality food that you are getting. Their menu also changes seasonally so you will never get bored. I love everything about this place. High quality food with a casual vibe is right up my alley.

The food is absolutely delicious. I'm from Calgary and bookmarked this restaurant a year ago. It's located in the Deep South of Edmonton. The service was great and they wanted to make it right if they made an error. We ordered 2 salads and the duelling duck entree to share. All 3 dishes were yummy. I also ordered their lemon meringue drop for dessert. However, honestly wasn't a fan. It tasted like a very sweet lemon curd and jam pudding. It was missing something to crunch on such as a cookie or a cake. The meringue they added wasn't sufficient enough bc it was a very small bite size meringue. Therefore, obviously you won't come to Workshop for their dessert. The decor is very nice and a great atmosphere. Will definitely come again the next time I'm in town.

So this place has been on my list for a very long time and I finally had the opportunity to try it out for my return from a deployment. I wanna start off by saying this restaurant is so amazing, the atmosphere and the way it looks is so beautiful, I love the kitchen and how cozy it really looks inside, the service was up to par our server was actually really really nice and even explained what was in the dish and recommended some good dishes to try, we started with the mussels and the capaccio, the mussels were very very good and a good quantity, the carpaccio wasn't a hit for us it just didn't taste the same and the mushrooms had to strong of a fermented taste which didn't hit but being Italians we have high expectation for it, for Mains we had the slow cooked beef, the lentil stew and the taquitos, the slow cooked I had a very high expectation because the server said it was one of the top things and I can't lie I was fairly disappointed with it (maybe is having a high expectation) the meat wasn't very soft and It felt more tough than what I've had in a different restaurant and the sauce that it comes in the bottom I wish it had more of it specially on top of the beef to give it a extra sweetness flavor to it, the stew was good but we felt like it was missing the coconut flavor on it and the lentils were cold but the inside was very hot so it was confusing, the taquitos were very good though my dad seemed to really enjoy it, we finished up with the apple crisp with ice cream and sadly it wasn't a hit, and I love dessert specially because we don't get sweets in the army, the inside of the pastry wasn't cooked and it felt like it was more dough than a apple crisp, the server was really nice and removed it off our bill which was very nice of her, over all I think we had very high expectations and Maybe it went this way, I do hope to give it a second try to maybe see things differently and definitely change this review.

Arancini

Lovely building and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Our waitress recommended the arancini which we had never had and it was incredible!! The aioli underneath was to die for! Seriously!! For our main we shared the smoked beef short rib which came on a bed of kale with confit potatoes and mushrooms. Felt like it was lacking some sauce, especially since the meat was fairly dry. It would be a better dish if it was braised as I honestly did not taste much smoke flavour anyways. Braising the ribs would have yielded a much more tender and moist dish. Besides that, everything was cooked to perfection, and the juices we ordered were nice!

I always hear amazing things about this place but it just didn't hit the spot for me and friends. We started with wine which is always a good idea but our server was completely absent. Our appetizer was dropped off by another staff member and they took off so fast we couldn't even ask for more wine. It took us til dinner time to get another drink. I found the greenhouse wedge nothing exciting, quite boring to be honest. We all went with the token steak which the brussel sprouts were great but the chorizo tater tots were kind of cold and not up our alley. The steak was tough and chewy. It just did not feel like a $43 item. The crème brûlée was great but overall it was super meh. I can't say I would rush back here anytime soon.

Made a reservation for 5pm on a Wednesday for an early dinner, the first one out postpartum and post Covid lockdown. By 6pm the restaurant was full which speaks to the popularity of this establishment. So glad Workshop Eatery was the restaurant to break our dining out fast. I was meeting up with a friend from out of town, both of us vegetarians. We were pleasantly surprised by the array of plant based options on the menu. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and left with full bellies and full hearts. It is evident the care that goes into preparing the food. Everything was plated beautifully and seasoned to perfection. Noteable was the Peas & Carrots ($32), gnocchi with roasted garden carrots, carrot puree, fresh shelled peas and pea shoots. The Flourless Chocolate Cake ($12) was also delicious. It is served with a sesame gelato *chef's kiss* Our server was the perfect balance of engaged and hands off, allowing us to enjoy our food without feeling bothered as can happen in other fine dining establishments. The ambience is light, airy, and gives off the impression that everyone is welcome. Menus are seasonal and I look forward to coming again to try more of the chef's creations in the fall/winter.

The hardest part of dining here is trying to find parking because there is very little parking available, even if you are willing to pay for it. Once that obstacle is behind you the restaurant is a treat. We ordered two dishes to share between the two of us. Three might have been best if you don't want dessert, but we did so two dishes were fine. The first was the sweet potatoe mochi. It was quite tasty and suitable for small appetites. Next they brought out the coconut Thai red curry brisket. It was tasty and filling but the beef tasted overcooked (or old). For dessert we ordered the sticky date cake which was rich and tasty. The off menu special was the pear bread pudding with chocolate mousse. It was nice and light making it the best dessert. This was a great evening and the service was top notch. I recommend Little Wolf to anyone who wants a fine evening out.

Luckily I was there with my friend and not my husband and we decided to split a bunch of things. We tried the fried foccacia with hummus, the tom yum garlic scapes, the braised lentils and the dark chocolate tahini truffles. Our favourites were the hummus, thick and creamy and paired well with the fluffy foccacia. Also the dessert the tahini truffles were really unique and delicous. Everything else was fine but I probably wouldn't order it again. Server was friendly and knowledgeable.

It was hard to take them off the shell because they were that shrivelled. And the biscuits were terrible. They were an afterthought. Dry and sandy in texture. I would come back here for a restaurant for sure because we sure enjoyed the food. And they have teh best lobster rolls. But I wouldn't come back for the price point for the boil. I jumped on the chance because I love the pizzas here. They have a soft doughy crust. So we ventured here for lunch. It wasn't too full, and it took a while for someone to notice and get us seated. We actually debated leaving, however finally they seated us, it was all good. (Hence why it looses a star). Atmosphere is pretty typical for a craft brewery. I am not a huge sports bar fan, and I was pleased to see that TVs were not a focus here. Menu is good. Lots of different things to try, but they are well known for their pizzas. Great selection of beers. Also an okay selection of cocktails and wine. I am on medication, so I tried a "near beer" can that they offered and I was pleased with the flavour. I wish they would have a non alcoholic that is more local on tap. Hubby because of driving went with a coke. We decided on two pizzas - PB & J which contained roasted pineapple, smoked bacon, fresh jalapeño, mozzarella, brick blend and the Animal Style -Ezzo pepperoni, seasoned beef, bacon, pizza sauce, crushed chilis, Grana Padano. Both came out hot and fresh and tasty. I enjoyed my toppings better, however my husband's pizza sauce was absolutely perfect. Service (once we were seated) was pleasant. We received some chocolate dipped strawberries as a customer appreciation gift and that was lovely. My goal is to try all the pizzas. Give it a go if you like Detroit style pizzas.

Edmonton is no different than anywhere else in the fact that our restaurantscape has been dotted with more and more local breweries - which is cool and all - but the part that has caught my attention is the elevation and refinement that has also evolved. Gone are the days when the average pub is slinging a beer in your general direction and calling it a day. Now there are chefs involved, complete dining programs, and entire concepts. It's more than just a boozy good time (but it's also still that). One of the standouts in this game is Campio Brewing Co., which first opened its doors in 2018 and have since expanded to a second location. In a previous life the original restaurant operated as Characters Fine Dining for twenty some years, which is why the space might feel familiar. (I remember dining at Characters in my 20s and believing that it was the height of luxury.) Voted Best Brewpub 2025 by EDify Magazine, Campio has positioned itself as a reliable standby when it comes to beers and eats Downtown, and they ain't slowing down anytime soon. I visited on a Monday evening, only half realizing that it was also an Oilers home game night. At only a seven minute walk away from Rogers Place, you can be sure that the place will be positively packed with jersey-wearing fans, the majority of which who are grabbing a bite before gametime. This was absolutely the case during my visit, and while it was crowded there's something about the buzz of a hockey night that feels pretty special. Peering through the sea of blue and orange in the main dining area, it was clear that tables were at a premium. I had no idea that there was additional seating downstairs but quickly learned as the hostess lead the way down the stairs. The basement appears to be the brewery itself, lined with fermentation tanks and wooden aging barrels. The picnic-style tables are communal. While it's not as nice as upstairs and certainly feels like an overflow area, it is kind of neat to be sitting where all of the brewery magic happens. (Think of when you try to go camping but the campground is already full, so they just stick you in a big empty field with the rest of the extras.) The main upstairs dining area is expansive, rich in wood, and feels historic. You'll find exposed brick and the same epic wooden pillars that exist in many of the old buildings downtown. But the best table in the entire restaurant? That would be the elevator shaft room - now converted into a small dining area. The elevator buttons are still on the wall! Our server was super personable and friendly, genuinely seeming like she was having a good time. Campio is obviously known for their 16 rotating craft beers on draft brewed right in the restaurant itself. They also sell their beer in cans (covered in beautiful artwork) which can be found in liquor stores everywhere, as well as offsale at the brewery itself. My husband is a big fan of their seasonal Once in Oaxaca (a prickly pear horchata sour). I, myself, am not much of a beer drinker so I was pleased to find a list of house cocktails to choose from - way more my jam. The Iced Edmonton Fog (Baileys, Cointreau, Amaretto, walnut bitters, earl grey tea - $14.50) sounded really delicious and fun. (They also make beer cocktails!) The flavour profile of this drink is right up my alley! The combination of almond, walnut and earl grey sounds cozy and delicious! However, I found that I wanted even more flavour from each sip. The beverage tasted quite watered down and could've been more full-bodied. It did remind me a lot of a paralyzer though, which I was not mad at. The main concept at Campio is to fuse Edmonton's blue-collar nature and artistic flair into one, serving up whimsy and quality with diverse offerings. I do think that this shows a clear understanding of the clientele in this city and it points toward Campio's success. The menu is fresh, playful, and approachable, offering the kind of food that people actually want to eat in a brewpub today. They've got Fried Pepperoni (With honey mustard - $9.00) on the snacks part of the menu and I'm not one to refuse! A Halifax stable, Edmonton and this Maritime city seem to have a lot in common when it comes to cuisine (RE: the donair). Sliced paper-thin, each ruby-hued round is crispy like a chip. You could easily toss about 20 of these into your mouth and barely notice. I liked the tangy honey mustard to dip into. This dish is like the best part of a pizza without all of the unnecessary rest of it. I'd happily start my meal with these every time! For the main event Campio offers two types of choices; you can opt for a handheld (I've had their Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich before and that tall stack is a good time!) or you can order a Detroit deep dish pizza (which I feel is kinda their "signature thing.")
