We had a leaking water heater and needed it fixed that day. Garrett came out to give us an estimate and to our surprise, he let us know it was still under warranty. We also requested that if possible could he replace it that day to which he said he could. True to his word, it was done that day! He also made sure to clean up behind him and also looked at some other things for us, no charge, while he was here. We would definitely recommend both Home Run HCS and Garrett for any plumbing work! I contracted with Lowes home services to do a complete bathroom remodel. They sub-contracted with RIS. Thus began 6 weeks of hell. The screw ups where to many to mention here but the highlights are: Misaligned and crooked grout lines, Tiles not flush, exhaust fan not vented thru roof. And to top it off they did not pull a permit for the electrical or plumbing. They even hid a junction box behind the sheetrock in a wall ( this is a major NEC violation). I had to hire a master electrician to come in and fix the wiring. i did get compensation back from lowes after the store manager finally came out to look at the horrible install. After massive wind and hail damage it was determined that all of my shingles, essentially the entire roof, needed to be replaced and even completely repaired in some areas. Additionally, I have a two story home and my ceiling in my master bedroom downstairs started leaking water. I wasn't in a good situation, because at that time, we were getting days of rain causing more damage every day. Geronimo came out, assessed the damaged and immediately climbed my roof to add a tarp until the material arrived. Within a few more days, Geronimo and his crew returned and not only took care of my roof, but my interior walls, and the fence that was also damaged during the storm. I've had James at RIS out twice for various handyman tasks, including replacing ceiling fans, door hardware, caulking bathrooms, and replacing wall outlets. All that homeowner stuff that tends to pile up while I get busy with other things that make louder demands. James (the business owner and a military veteran) is punctual, very knowledgeable, honest, and charges reasonable hourly rates. He gave me advice as necessary on what products to get, where to get them, and how to prepare for each appointment to make the job go as efficiently as possible. When a job was beyond his scope of expertise, he let me know and offered to give me a referral to someone who could do it. Everything he did looks great! RIS also does bigger remodeling jobs for kitchens and baths, and home inspections in addition to handyman work. They're a small local company, so you have to be patient enough to wait a week or so to get on their schedule. Personally, I would much rather wait for quality from a reliable local business than go with a bigger company and get the corporate runaround. I told them I'm on a tight schedule and they were able to work with me on that. Dennis was able to give me a quote on the spot and then a few days later Brian came to work on my house. Brian was here about half a day and did excellent work. One of the difficulties was that I needed my walls painted in some areas and I knew paint matching was tricky. Brian was able to get the perfect color and did everything else I asked him to do in my house. I am very satisfied with my service and communication they provided. She called back 11 min. later (it's in my phone history) and said a gentleman from Jarrell could drive out that day to give estimate by 10:30. He showed up right on time. He gave some very basic, generic information about my bathroom, recommended Ventana for the glass, etc. Took a couple measurements and said I'd have an estimate by that afternoon or the following day. It'll be a week on Friday, and I haven't heard a peep. Very unprofessional without any follow-up whatsoever. As a nerdy marketing company, we don't have a lot of experience when it comes to contracting and wall demolitions, but James did a great job of explaining to us the process, pricing it fairly and doing the job pretty quickly. I was helping my sister purchase my first home and as expected, it was a stressful experience in this crazy Austin market (the stories of houses selling 2 days after listing are so true). I had a few companies come out and give me a bid on a repair / replacement of a shingle on my roof. RIS was the last company scheduled and Geronimo showed up a few minutes early. When was the last time that that has happened?! Geronimo wasted no time and was up on my roof. I watched from different angles from my front, back and side yards and observed that this guy was thorough! After about 25 minutes, he descended and we reviewed the pictures that he had taken. Geronimo advised that 6 shingles needed replacement and some caulking needed to be done in a few areas which was quite obvious from the pictures. I asked him the cost and it was as low as the first company that had come out. I asked about lead time and Geronimo replied that he had everything in his truck! I told him to get to it! An hour later, the job was finished and he provided more pictures showing the work that he had completed. Thank you Geronimo! And thank you RIS!! The first company offered the same price but was not prepared to do the job. The second company were pleasant and all but were $450 more. Here's the deal: James' rates are very reasonable and the work he does is impeccable. On one occassion he patched a large hole in our wall and matched the texture and paint to the degree that I cannot tell the hole ever exsisted in the first place. The second time we hired him to replace some exterior siding that had to be cut to fit around a faucet and vent. Again, his work was excellent with the cuts in the siding fitting over and around the faucet and vent perfectly.
