We had a leaking water heater and needed it fixed that day. Garrett came out to give us an estimate and to our surprise, he let us know it was still under warranty. We also requested that if possible could he replace it that day to which he said he could. True to his word, it was done that day! He also made sure to clean up behind him and also looked at some other things for us, no charge, while he was here. We would definitely recommend both Home Run HCS and Garrett for any plumbing work! BTW, they also did a great job on our house inspection ~5 years ago! Edit note: Not sure why Yelp is stating I'm from San Francsico. The work was done in Round Rock, Texas. read more

I contracted with Lowes home services to do a complete bathroom remodel. They sub-contracted with RIS. Thus began 6 weeks of hell. The screw ups where to many to mention here but the highlights are: Misaligned and crooked grout lines, Tiles not flush, exhaust fan not vented thru roof. And to top it off they did not pull a permit for the electrical or plumbing. They even hid a junction box behind the sheetrock in a wall ( this is a major NEC violation). I had to hire a master electrician to come in and fix the wiring. i did get compensation back from lowes after the store manager finally came out to look at the horrible install. This is not a good company to do business with! read more

We hired Geronimo Barajas for our gutter and other roofing project. Trust me on this as we've hired over 8 different contractors over the last 6 months...He was simply AMAZING. First, his customer service skills are second to none. He spoke to me as an equal and helped me understand exactly what I should do to achieve the goals of the project. I never felt pressured or worried the work wouldn't get done. Second, his work ethic was on point! He started and finished the job when he said he would. Geronimo even spent a day to complete work that his subcontractor backed out on. He never asked me for a penny more than we originally agreed upon. He brought with him the highest standards at the fairest price out there. I loved how he walked the site with his workers BEFORE asking us to walk the site. Doing so made sure it was absolutely perfect. Personable, honest, and down to earth. Nice job, Geronimo and thank you for making this the best contractor experience ever! Love my vent hood exhaust and gutters for ever!! Your company is lucky to have you, sir! read more

After massive wind and hail damage it was determined that all of my shingles, essentially the entire roof, needed to be replaced and even completely repaired in some areas. Additionally, I have a two story home and my ceiling in my master bedroom downstairs started leaking water. I wasn't in a good situation, because at that time, we were getting days of rain causing more damage every day. Geronimo came out, assessed the damaged and immediately climbed my roof to add a tarp until the material arrived. Within a few more days, Geronimo and his crew returned and not only took care of my roof, but my interior walls, and the fence that was also damaged during the storm. They did an incredible job and it was nice to work with just Geronimo for all of my repairs. I am completely satisfied with their work and would refer Geronimo with RIS to anyone that needs this level of home repair. Thanks for great service! read more

When we needed a couple of fixes for the roof in our new house, Geronimo from RIS was super quick to come out and take a look. Once we agreed on what needed done he came back a couple days later and knocked it out in no time. Overall a super smooth transaction with a low price tag, so couldn't ask for anything more. Definitely recommended! read more

Finally! The comfort in knowing that I have someone I can trust for quality, skilled work, full effort, & a very fair price is invaluable. You can tell they care about their work standing as their reuptation, & that they give each job their full attention to all details. James is thorough, professional, and great about giving good explanations. They were able to complete an emergency job for me in helping me renovate my kitchen. He let me know just what my options were & what to expect. The carpentry work was just was what I was hoping for! read more

I've had James at RIS out twice for various handyman tasks, including replacing ceiling fans, door hardware, caulking bathrooms, and replacing wall outlets. All that homeowner stuff that tends to pile up while I get busy with other things that make louder demands. James (the business owner and a military veteran) is punctual, very knowledgeable, honest, and charges reasonable hourly rates. He gave me advice as necessary on what products to get, where to get them, and how to prepare for each appointment to make the job go as efficiently as possible. When a job was beyond his scope of expertise, he let me know and offered to give me a referral to someone who could do it. Everything he did looks great! RIS also does bigger remodeling jobs for kitchens and baths, and home inspections in addition to handyman work. They're a small local company, so you have to be patient enough to wait a week or so to get on their schedule. Personally, I would much rather wait for quality from a reliable local business than go with a bigger company and get the corporate runaround. So call me a regular: I've already scheduled my third appointment. I could definitely get used to having everything at my house working right. read more

We moved to a new home in August, and I hired James for several tasks around the house. He helped with painting a room, mounting large mirrors and pictures, fixing a toilet, and repairing some damaged drywall. He was able to schedule us quickly and got the job done equally fast. Price was good and everything looked great! read more

We thought we could install an over-the-range microwave on our own, but it ended up being a more difficult job than anticipated so we hired the professionals at RIS Austin. James was timely, efficient, friendly, informative and thorough. He ended up having to remove a whole line of tile in our backsplash and the end result is perfect. Would highly recommend! read more

I had a tight time frame and needed to get some improvements to my house done. I reached out to this company and they set up Dennis to come evaluate/quote the work needed to be done. I told them I'm on a tight schedule and they were able to work with me on that. Dennis was able to give me a quote on the spot and then a few days later Brian came to work on my house. Brian was here about half a day and did excellent work. One of the difficulties was that I needed my walls painted in some areas and I knew paint matching was tricky. Brian was able to get the perfect color and did everything else I asked him to do in my house. I am very satisfied with my service and communication they provided. The price was also reasonable (not expensive or cheap) Overall, I would recommend this great company to those looking to get a lot of things done in their home. read more

We hired James Hudson and RIS Austin to remodel our new office last month. As a nerdy marketing company, we don't have a lot of experience when it comes to contracting and wall demolitions, but James did a great job of explaining to us the process, pricing it fairly and doing the job pretty quickly. After looking at the current specs of the office, and seeing some plans written up by us on what we wanted (removing 8 walls, refinishing remaining walls, painting and electrical work), he came up with a timeline and got to work pretty quickly. We're very happy with the work, it was done promptly and done very well. I highly recommend them for work both small and large. read more

Smoke to someone on Friday to give master bath estimate. The woman who answered was very polite and said she'd call back to schedule something. She called back 11 min. later (it's in my phone history) and said a gentleman from Jarrell could drive out that day to give estimate by 10:30. He showed up right on time. He gave some very basic, generic information about my bathroom, recommended Ventana for the glass, etc. Took a couple measurements and said I'd have an estimate by that afternoon or the following day. It'll be a week on Friday, and I haven't heard a peep. Very unprofessional without any follow-up whatsoever. In the meantime, I've gone with another company and also felt it appropriate that a review be warranted for RIS. read more

I was helping my sister purchase my first home and as expected, it was a stressful experience in this crazy Austin market (the stories of houses selling 2 days after listing are so true). My sister finally found a house that she loved and immediately put down an offer for it. The bid was accepted, and we had about a week to inspect the home before moving forward with the process. With this kind of urgency, we needed someone that could haul ass on the inspection before making a final decision. James was recommended by a friend and he came out within 2 days to the house to inspect it. When he was finished, we were presented with a thorough report of every minor detail of the house. With this information, we were confident this house wasn't a moneypit disaster waiting to happen. I highly recommend James and his company. He also does handyman work, but he is legally do the handyman repairs until a year after the completion of the inspection (conflict of interest laws). I respect his integrity and the work ethic, I would recommend his company to anyone! read more

Geronimo and his crew are amazing. Very professional experience and the work is top notch. I personally refer his as my preferred vendor.

Had a few things around our house that needed working on, so we set an appointment up with RIS and was able to get someone out in a very reasonable time. Tyler Gibbs came out early, talked me through everything, gave a great time schedule on fixing everything and was completely thorough. Great service, great communication (even the Star Wars references ^_^), and great fixing! Will definitely use these guys again!! read more

RIS has done two projects for us: a complete kitchen remodel, then bathroom updates and flooring installation. They are highly responsible and responsive, as well as skilled. We couldn't be happier with the results. I would use RIS again any day and highly recommend them. read more

These guys were recommended to me by a friend. They were up front about everything and estimates were spot on. I remodeled my entire kitchen from new cabinets, to granite countertops, to putting on a nice backsplash on the wall. They kept me in the loop during the entire process and I knew exactly what was being done and how it was being done. They also worked around my schedule, as I'm in and out of my home a lot. Great experience, period. I'll be calling them again when I'm ready to get my bathroom's remodeled! Feel free to msg me if you want to see pictures of the work! read more

I do some contracting with RIS Austin and can say they're an amazing crew. From top to bottom, attention to detail and professionalism. Going through extreme makeovers can be very stressful but these guys get on it and do it with a smile. Highly recommended and am always excited for the next project! read more

I had a few companies come out and give me a bid on a repair / replacement of a shingle on my roof. RIS was the last company scheduled and Geronimo showed up a few minutes early. When was the last time that that has happened?! Geronimo wasted no time and was up on my roof. I watched from different angles from my front, back and side yards and observed that this guy was thorough! After about 25 minutes, he descended and we reviewed the pictures that he had taken. Geronimo advised that 6 shingles needed replacement and some caulking needed to be done in a few areas which was quite obvious from the pictures. I asked him the cost and it was as low as the first company that had come out. I asked about lead time and Geronimo replied that he had everything in his truck! I told him to get to it! An hour later, the job was finished and he provided more pictures showing the work that he had completed. Thank you Geronimo! And thank you RIS!! The first company offered the same price but was not prepared to do the job. The second company were pleasant and all but were $450 more. RIS was on time (actually early), priced at industry standards, and was prepared to get the job done....then and there. Thanks again y'all!! read more

I'm selling my house and my realtor referred me to RIS to repair a leak in my roof. Geronimo came over and inspected the roof and found numerous issues with the shingles and things not sealed properly that were letting water through. He made expert recommendations and relieved my fears immediately. It was a huge pleasure working with Geronimo and I'll definitely refer anyone in the neighborhood as the builders are always skipping on quality where they can get away with it. read more

This is the second time I have used this company for handyman work. They are so professional and helpful answering all my questions. I'm sure I drove the man crazy but he listened to all my ideas and did exactly what we needed and more! Highly recommend them!! read more

i don't normally write reviews. But i went with this James dude and everything works as he described. We've got problems with our old bathroom but now it's brand new. I can honestly recommend him because of his work ethic. read more

Here's the deal: James' rates are very reasonable and the work he does is impeccable. On one occassion he patched a large hole in our wall and matched the texture and paint to the degree that I cannot tell the hole ever exsisted in the first place. The second time we hired him to replace some exterior siding that had to be cut to fit around a faucet and vent. Again, his work was excellent with the cuts in the siding fitting over and around the faucet and vent perfectly. I highly recommend his services and will continue using RIS as things arise. read more

Tried twice now to give this company my business, which would have been a decent sized job and some long term/standing work (and even said as much in my messages). Left messages over a period of several days and indicated I was flexible with scheduling. Last effort to reach them was 5 days ago. Left two contact numbers for them to reach me. Never got a call back. read more

I'm surprised no one has reviewed James' business yet, he's probably one of the best handymen in town! I needed some help putting new furniture together for college and there was random crap around the house that needed to be fixed and had been neglected for a while. Didn't help that mom was nagging the hell out of me either. I asked around for help and I found James. He's a really cool guy and the thing I liked most about him was that he always picked up the phone whenever I called. He ended doing a fantastic job and charged less than what I expected, which is always a good thing to hear as a poor college student! read more

Seriously, James is that dude. My father is into real estate and is often refurnishing/repairing houses in order to resell. James has helped us with multiple houses throughout the Anderson Mill area whether it be painting or plumbing. Punctual and affordable. What else can you ask for? Our family will definitely be repeat customers. read more

My friend referred me and I put full trust on my friend since he said RIS is great service. Or else I'd make him pay for the job.... But I was very pleased and happy with the paint job that I asked to be done in my bedroom and bathroom, as well as changing out the lights. Quality and time was perfection! I'm very pleased and would definitely refer to others! Great job! Much appreciated!! You won't be let down!!! read more

I sent a detailed communication through their website Sunday evening -which they recommend over their "we're unavailable right now" phone message-, and then followed up with a phone call on Tuesday and no one has attempted to get back in touch with me. I checked junk mail, etc.. At least a message on my voice mail, or an email, in response to say they are too busy or can't service my area would be appreciated over nothing. read more

Nice workmen, sort of pricey and be sure to get a detailed scope of service on the front end.

I contacted RIS for a quote to get my kitchen floor tiled. Dennis came out and did the estimate. He was courteous, professional, and provided good advice on a few additional issues to address with a very fair price. He also provided guidance on the materials required to do the job, which was very helpful. We had a little hiccup in the morning of the scheduled install day but Dennis stayed on top of things and got it resolved right away. The tiles and baseboards were completed on time and look great! I would not hesitate to recommend RIS for anyone needing help with a flooring project. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but with how hard it was to find a contractor in Round Rock, I wanted to share my experience with RIS. My wife and I bought a house in Round Rock and wanted a new wall and door put up, a new kitchen sink, a vented oven fan, and other misc work done before we moved in. I called RIS and was put in touch with Dennis Cochran. Dennis was very prompt in providing a quote and it was reasonable and timely in comparison to the other quotes I had received. Dennis and RIS were very prompt in responding to communication, and I was very happy with how quickly they began and completed the work. I would not hesitate to use RIS for any further work in the future. read more

We're getting ready to put our house on the market and our real estate agent recommended James (RIS). We recently hired him to paint the exterior of our house as well as minor repair work on the exterior. When the work was done, we saw one problem but when he came out to look at it, he saw many more things he wanted done over. He does a walk-through on his own, and then does one with the client. He is meticulous and expects the work to be done right. He has returned all our phone calls and texts promptly, and come to the house asap when needed. Because he's also a home inspector he knows what to look for when repairs need to be done. He's professional and personable at the same time, and charges reasonable rates. read more

Brian Garza did a fantastic job installing a storm door for me today! It looks great and functions perfectly. My whole experience with RIS from start to finish was stellar! I read the reviews posted on this site and it seemed like this company might be reliable and knowledgeable.
