This was by far the worst contractor experience I've had…read more I hired Rick to remodel our closet with bifold doors. During the initial consultation, he agreed the design was feasible and promised the project would be completed in 3-4 days. Five days into the project, he suddenly claimed the bifold doors were not possible and proposed changing the entire design to cabinet-style doors instead. This should have been identified before demolition began, not after work was already underway. From that point on, I was repeatedly told, "We'll finish tomorrow." That promise was made day after day for 19 days. Eventually, after nearly three weeks of delays and little meaningful progress, I asked them to stop work and remove their tools. I then had three independent contractors inspect the work. Two of them told me it was among the poorest closet workmanship they had seen. The issues included: * Panels cut to incorrect dimensions * Cabinet pieces shaped incorrectly * Poor fit and alignment * Work that would cost more to demolish and rebuild than to complete properly In the end, I paid for a project that accomplished virtually nothing except leaving me with demolition and additional repair costs. The worksite was also poorly managed. Although I was promised a clean work environment, they created excessive dust throughout the room and garage and rarely covered furniture or flooring unless I specifically asked. At the end of each day, I was often left cleaning after them myself. Safety was another serious concern. My toddler found a loose nail in the hallway during the project. Thankfully we noticed it before anything happened, but leaving sharp construction debris where young children are present is completely unacceptable. As the project progressed, work slowed dramatically. Some days they only worked a couple of hours, and there were 4-5 days where no one showed up at all without meaningful communication. To make matters worse, after all of the delays and poor workmanship, I was asked to purchase my own cabinet handles to save them roughly $30. The biggest disappointment wasn't just the quality of the work--it was the constant broken promises. If the project had been honestly scoped from the beginning, I could have chosen another contractor before losing nearly three weeks of time. I have extensive photos documenting the progress from day one through day nineteen and will be uploading them so others can judge the workmanship for themselves. I cannot recommend this company.

Super nice guy and will respect your house, no mess whatsoever. I've had him seal bathrooms and kitchens, repair and replace drywall from said water leaking bathroom, replace faulty plumbing hardware and finish the job on my floors where the initial installer failed. He's very concerned about the end result and how it looks and none of his work has been short of beautiful. Absolutely recommended, I work from home and just left my door unlocked and my credit card on the table. I'd trust him in my house if I were away, no question. He went over every bit of his work in extreme detail starting from major fixes to observations. Very detail oriented. The best. Even gave me a chunk of the drywall he removed when installing an access panel so I could match the paint later. For the single star Karen, grow up. Darrell is hard to get on the phone since he loses it, doesn't have his voicemail set up, etc. When…read moreyou do talk to him he makes it sound like it's real easy to make an appointment and meet up. Well, no. I gave him a 15 minute grace period before calling him to find out where he was. No answer. Texted him to find out how far out he was. No answer. So I'm guessing he either forgot or he doesn't care. I get it. Austin is a booming town now and these guys have all the business they can handle, but customer service is not just a down economy thing. I can't speak to the quality of Darrell's work because he didn't even show up to scope out the job. He wasted my time and hopefully won't waste yours.

I had a random list of items that came up on the inspection for the house we had just bought that we knew we wanted done. Darrell has a broad knowledge base on home repairs and was able to fix everything on the list quickly, and also gave his recommendation on what could wait (or what would be easy and cheaper for us to just do ourselves). Fast forward a few months-we have continued to call on Darrell for various projects throughout the house. I'm 9 months pregnant and trying to get it all done before the baby comes and Darrell has risen to the challenge. He was able to repair our outdoor kitchen, match the stonework, wire in some new lighting and helped talk us through (and out of) doing a pricey pergola addition (I appreciated his honesty!) He most recently installed closet shelving, matching the existing and mostly useless laundry room shelves (with his perfectionist attention to detail) . Being around during the day while contractors are working in the house, it's nice to find someone who not only knows their stuff but is also just a genuinely nice guy to be around. I'm grateful that we've found a 'Darrell of all trades' handyman that I can call on for whatever comes up with our house over the years.
