We had two 18-year old 2007 systems where the heat pump went out on one system. I also had on my list to upgrade our old thermostats to modern ones that are internet connected. I was very pleased with the work Home Heating did to replace our heat pump, air handler (furnace for us laypeople) and 2 main thermostats (stats if you're a pro) in our Redmond home. Ricky the estimator for Home Heating did the best job of the three company estimates I got. He spent time to understand our system, and sized the rooms to make sure he suggested the right equipment. He concluded we won't need as big a unit on our second system when it comes time to replace it. He spent an hour under our crawlspace to make sure there would be no problems with the install, and to look at the conduit routing. He found a few problem conduits he said they would fix as part of the job (lazy installation by original builder, and I agreed). He confirmed the new thermostats would be fully compatible with the second heat pump system we weren't replacing. He answered all my questions and concerns, then sent an estimate that day with multiple options at different prices. It was the most detailed I had received. I asked him groups of questions after that to clarify the options and he was very responsive. So I chose Home Heating. Ric the owner came out to check out the home too. The installers Tyler, Maksym, Jacob, Joseph and Indra did an excellent job. They started the morning after a snow storm but made progress in spite of the snow. All the workers were respectful and expert at what they were doing. The electrician that came by was also excellent and he and Home Heating solved a ventilation problem that had not been done properly when the house was built. Home Heating had to spend extra time on that and did so without an extra charge. Ric the owner checked in after the job. I had a few questions about our Humidifiers in the two systems and whether they were working. Jonathan from Home Heating came by to show me they are working properly and answer my questions. The job is complete, I'm very happy with the quality of the new system, and I love our new thermostats. It's a nice investment in our house. read more

You are not put on hold, you are not forwarded to a dispatch center and you are not left yelling into the phone to someone that sounds like they are taking to you on their cell phone from under a house. Next, you know you are in good hands when the technician arrives (thanks Elie), dressed smartly, is professional/courteous and doesn't forget to protect your floors by wearing shoe covers. With a quick diagnosis, the problem with my humidifier was identified and fixed and the technician even took the extra time to clean up the wiring rats nest mess that the previous installer had left behind. One visit, a simple fixed fee pricing approach (not to be nickle and dime'd by an hourly rate as the others will try and inflict upon you), and we were up and running. Keep in mind this was after no less than 5 previous visits from the competition and they never were able to diagnose and fix the problem. Then icing on the cake! The day following the service I get a call from the owner, just checking in with me to make sure the fix resolved my issues, the technician was courteous and helpful and I was completely satisfied with the experience. See, there are still businesses and people out there that put the customer first and are focused on service. I recently had a company from Bend in the duct/carpet cleaning business clean my Ducts. One guy showed up and was in my home for two hours. I became skeptical and did some research online. That eventually led me to Home Heating & Cooling and Ric Secor. We spoke on the phone and he told me he would come out to my house at no charge. He set up some equipment to monitor the air quality, took pictures of all of my vents ( which had supposedly just been cleaned) and sat down with me and showed me the pictures. To say i was shocked is an understatement. There was still dust and dirt in ALL of my vents. I agreed to have I agreed to have Home Heating come out and clean my ducts. They said they would be there by 8am, and they were. They showed up with 4 people..... Ashlyn, Jeremy, Rick and Rich. They did an unbelievable job and showed me before and after pictures. They were at my house for 6 hours. They were Polite and Professional from beginning to end. The next day the same crew showed up at 8am again as promised, and we did duct sealing. The process and product is call Aeroseal. The process basically seals all the leaks in your ductwork by spraying an Aerosol into your returns and supply lines that adheres to any leak found and adheres to the leak and seals it. I saw a 96% reduction in leakage. I was very impressed. I would like to thank Home Heating and all of the employees for a job well done. I will pass on a recommendation to anyone I know getting their ductwork cleaned. I would also highly recommend the sealing process. You guys are professional in your approach and work ethic. I just moved to Bend and I was looking for an IQ Air retailer in Central Oregon. I discovered that my 2.5 year long battle with my health was due to mold. My mold doctor recommended that I buy an IQ Air Health Pro Plus because it's the only air filter with a zero particle emission count, meaning nothing leaks out! It does exactly what it says it does! It's also the only air filter with a hyper-hepa filter that filters down to the .003 micron level. I was worried about the health pro plus model giving off a strong odor from the carbon filter but it thankfully it hasn't been an issue at all! Home Heating & Cooling allowed me to do a 3 day air-out just in case before I purchased my machine and so far I've been very happy with it! I can't tell you the peace of mind that it provides--that when I have guests come stay or I bring something new into the home--I know that the air filter is capturing all the bad spores & fumes! I love knowing that it captures bacteria & viruses too, especially with the winter months approaching. Home Heating & Cooling made a special trip to drop off my machine for me after they aired it out and showed me how to set it up. The entire process with Home heating & cooling was pretty painless. We originally were looking for just duct cleaning in a house we had just bought as they were filthy, but soon realized the house gets quite warm. We have sled dogs so 90+ in the house is just too much for them. The team was able to get someone out quickly to get a quote and determine where best to place the AC unit. Installation day 2 techs showed up bright and early, eager to knock this project out. Indra was the lead tech and Ray did the duct cleaning as well as assisted Indra with the installation, both these guys were super polite and answered any questions I had with patience and a smile. Unfortunately they were unable to complete the job in 1 day as they had some family obligations, it they were able to at least get the cold air blowing before they departed so we were comfortable through the weekend. The fact that Ric (owner) called to let us know this and take responsibility for getting his guys to their family events speaks volumes for how this company takes care of its employees. Indra returned this morning with Nic, a different assistant this morning to finish up the project and I can't be happier with the outcome! They had Neil come out, because we needed to get our air ducts cleaned because they hadn't been done in a while. He was overly aggressive for the sale and we feel low balled the price just to get us to say yes. He wasn't here for very long. Then when the technician Jacob showed up. He went over all the details, follow up with a thorough walk through and did a complete inspection. Shared his findings with us. Idk why Neil didn't do any of this while he was here for the quote. Jacob then scrubbed clean and sanitized all our duct work and fixed the ones that needed fixing. He was respectful, to us and our home. He was absolutely polite, professional and knew his craft very well. Showing us the improvement in photos. He also cleaned and improved our dryer venting system and went over safety with us and what other recommendations would be overall including filter air quality. We didnt mind spending the additional costs Jacob was trustworthy. Absolutely outstanding impression and work with Jacob and we will use this company again and recommend them to people we know solely because of him. read more

Heat was out in a rental home we acquired. Furnace had their stickers all over it so the tenant called them. They sent a person who was more salesman than a a repair tech. Lots of talk about joining their "service club" and very little talk about what might be wrong with the furnace. It felt more like a time-share sales pitch than a service call. Lots of upselling suggestions for different filters, maintenance items etc. No focus on fixing the furnace at all. Estimate: just over $1000. Called another outfit, furnace working again for about $150. Filters needed to be cleaned and one part replaced. That part cost $25. ($8 on Amazon, but that's a fair markup. Same part on Home Heatings estimate? Almost $300. 3x markup is fine. But 37x markup??? My advice to the owner of this business? Drop the club sales pitch, adjust your parts margins to somewhere in the realm of reality rather than insanity, and fix what needs to be fixed. read more

We discovered a major amount of construction dirt in our duct work. We also had a 10 degree drop in temperature between the back of the house where the bedrooms are and the living room and kitchen. We had Ric from Home Heating and Cooling come out and take a look. We had drywall, fiberglass insulation, and wood in our duct work. He also found major kinks in the duct work. He recommended cleaning, straightening, and adding 2 new ducts in the living area. What a TREAT! It is now easy to heat our home without the wild temperature changes between zones in the house. And the DUST, it's gone. We had been very sick from time to time since moving into our new place. I think those days are gone! This is by far the best service and service people that I have ever had! Tyler, Rich, and Ashlin came by to do a cleaning among other things before our AC was installed. Both units have made a BIG difference in the air quality in my East Bend home. My allergies have subsided and my dermatitis also has been much alleviated by the moisture in my home air. My first experience with Home and it was great. We signed up for their annual service plan and this, our first visit, was to check our heating system. Chris, their service tech, was quite friendly and had no problem with me watching over his shoulder and peppering him with questions. I've watched service checks before and this one was above-and-beyond all the others I've seen. I learned a lot about our system and feel very comfortable it is in good hands with Home. They're coming back to clean our dryer vent, and next Summer for our a/c check. All in all top notch firm. I am so happy with the decision to use Home Heating & Cooling!! I live in a two story house that didn't have central heat but only a fireplace and cadet electric heaters (which are very expensive to run). Ric came over twice on a Sunday and was very patient and we discussed options to supplement the heat. I ended up purchasing a Rinnai direct vented gas heater. It is wonderful and I never feel cold. We had both duct cleaning and Aero sealing done a week ago. We are EXTREMELY pleased with both the results and the professionalism from Home Heating & Cooling. The results of the duct sealing amounted to an 86% reduction in leaks. We suspected that there were problems with the ducts including dirt and holes, but had no idea that they were in such bad shape. We notice less dust in the house and look forward to a lower heating and air conditioning bill. In addition to duct work, they installed a ductless air conditioner for our upstairs great room. Nic and Ray did a fast thorough job when cleaning the ductwork for our house. The cleaning removed not only the accumulated dust, but also construction debris from the remodeling. Nic and Ray arrived on time and got right to work. They were friendly and willing to explain every step of the process and to answer all of my questions.
