My husband an I have been wanting to replace our fireplace insert at our Eagle Crest vacation home. The original insert did not provide any heat, so we rarely used it. We loved the rock around the fireplace and wanted to keep everything the same except for the insert. Two companies we contacted for bids would not do the work because of our need to keep keep the rock. I then contacted Sunset Hearth and Home and spoke with Tammie. She asked me to send some pictures of our fireplace and after reviewing with her installers she set up an appointment for Rick to come and look at the job and give us a bid. This bid was within our budget so the next big step was coordinating our schedules because we do not live in the area. After a couple of complications due to weather and product availability (COVID-19), we set the install date fo May 6th. Rick, Rusty, and Trevit arrived on time and went right to work. They made sure to cover the area around the fireplace to prevent any damages to carpet, furniture, etc. We had planned that the project would take two days, but these three guys completed it in one!!! We could not be more pleased with their professionalism and the quality of their work! And as you can see by the attached photos, not a rock was damaged! Bought a beautiful propane fireplace from Sunset Hearth & Home, and we love it! Rick and Tammy were great to work with; very friendly and helpful. Chris and his helper came out and worked hard all day getting it installed, and did a wonderful job. Rick came and finished up after we passed inspection. Then we had them install a hood over our gas range in the kitchen, even though we didn't purchase it from them. Once again, Chris and his helper Terrance worked all day and did a great job. Being new to the area, we had no idea what a disreputable out fit is Sunset Stoves. What seemed an ordinary installation of a stove pipe, just a year later was a leaking, home damaging event. They came out to fix it and when next it rained, it leaked even worse. A call to get them out immediately brought no response, and getting on their asses about it brought a loud, rude, nasty blow-off by the owner's wife. What a nasty, incompetent bunch. If I'd known better in the beginning, I would have gone somewhere else. read more
