We have used Severson for Plumbing and HVAC multiple times for our new to us home and can vouch that they are responsible, knowledgeable and professional. We hired them for the plumbing portion of our dyi bathroom remodels, and their knowledge and service was great, saving us time and money. In one case, the sink leaked afterwards, and they returned at no cost to help us figure out the problem (it was the sink stopper we purchased). We also hired them for an early summer HVAC tuneup. Turns out we needed a new AC unit as it could not keep up with the heat, and they were able purchase and install a replacement very quickly and cost effectively without replacing the furnace as well. I had Severson Plumbing come to my house for a water leak. The day before the plumber arrived, the company sent out an "estimator" with a helper. He said he was NOT a licensed plumber, but he was there to gather information for the real plumber. I told him everything that needed to be done, and he was here for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Imagine my surprise when Severson Plumbing charged me $161 for his labor. I called to protest and Severson said the minimum charge for anything was $161, and that included the unlicensed employee. Performing any plumbing work (including inspections), requires a license. If you hire anyone for a job, make sure they are licensed before you get billed for a flat rate of $161 per hour. Recently, we had the Spring Home Show at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond. Their reps of the company, particularly an older guy, (Brian?) who seemed to be very interested in my problem and would rectify the issue by calling me back. Well, he never called to follow up. I will NEVER have Severson Plumbing Heating & AC do any kind of work for me again. They advertise as being "Central Oregon's Trusted name in Plumbing" which they obviously are not and they are using unlicensed employees to perform plumbing work. Be very wary of them! read more

Had a toilet tank break at 5:30 in the morning. Big mess. The owner, Jadon Severson returned my desperate call as he was driving home over the mountain pass. He promptly went into action, afju his teams schedule He had a qualified, professional technician promptly arrive by 8:30 a.m. By 9:30 , i had a clean bathroom with a brand new toilet. Save your money!!!! This company is a joke. Rude behavior. They all say Heather is new and doesn't understand how things work---train her then!!! Preston, one of their techs just rolled his eyes. Takes three visits to fix anything. One tec located the issue, the second prepares the site and the third supposedly repairs the problem. I fired them after the first visit. Called Severson Plumbing for a price to come out and diagnose our leaking hot water tank. They told me it is $160 per hour and that starts when they leave their depot. So them driving slow, getting a coffee and me living 5 mins further away than my friend...that all costs me extra money? Amazing. I know it's only a 10 min job to diagnose the leak, it can only really be 1of 3 things. But maybe have someone swing by on the way back from a bigger job, be professional and nice, and try to gain my business for the tank install itself. And then an estimate of $2500 to install a new tank. For an $800 tank and 2 hours work? So around $850 an hour for labor? Amazing! You guys are skilled, but not even close to that much. I don't like this kind of business, trying to quickly con people into paying way over market value and price. Imagine how many old people in Bend they are scamming out of hundreds/thousands of extra dollars...for nothing. Try to support small, local businesses who offer great service at fair prices and don't try to mark up everything they do. A fair, per hour rate is fine, I know plumbing is a skilled trade. But avoid those who just mark up/double prices for no reason, hoping you will just say ok and have them do it. Shop around :). read more

I would not call them again. As mentioned in other reviews 1- poor attitude and lack of professionalism. They walk into your home with little respect for the homeowner and their home. They don't explain what they're doing, they just ignore you and "fix" and they tell you how much you owe. 2- it takes them multiple visits to "fix" the problem. I am in disbelief that after all the time I waited for this company to do the right thing I have to finally conclude that they are unwilling to be fair, or professional, I hired Severson Plumbing when my toilet was not working properly. They recommended and installed a new toilet. The toilet still didn't work. Assuming that there was a plumbing issue or that the toilet was defective Initially, they did the right thing and they sent someone out, but unfortunately, they sent him out to jet the plumbing The gentleman that came out knew better than to do this in a residential bathroom with no real reason to do so. Especially because the toilet worked as soon as it was plunged it did not seem to him to be a relevant task and was shocked that the office person sent him to do this He investigated all the things he thought might be the problem, but did declare he was not a plumber. He was professional and thorough. I paid for the toilet and the install the same day it was done and I paid for the gentleman who looked for the issues as well The company then said they had to send actual plumbers out to repeat the same investigation, which would mean I'd be paying for the same thing twice, but they would fix any issues if they found them They spent several hours, repeating the same investigation and they concluded that there was no leak. They repaired a tiny piece of pipe with scratches on it that the previous gentleman thought might be pierced however it was not. They raised the plumbing a bit they said by the back of the house. I was told that if anything still didn't work, it must be the toilet. The toilet still didn't work They ignored me I emailed I called. I waited patiently ;eventually and I mean to say three months later they had the owner email me. I already had to call Roto-Rooter twice (both who agreed that what needed to happen was the toilet lifted and a camera put in to investigate. Each time they came out roter rooter suggested that original plumber should do this since they did the work and my toilet still didnt work ;seems reasonable, right?! The response was "if your toilet isn't good it's not our fault" if there's something wrong with your plumbing "it is not our fault"!!!!' The owner even told me that the toilet they sold me wasn't good enough and that I should just purchase a better one! He agreed only to refund me a small amount of the great sum for the repeat investigation. He did not refund me for the plumbers investigation, but the gentleman who came out to jet. He would do absolutely nothing for the rest of the fees and refused to come out and fix the issue and install a workable toilet. The preposterousness of this is self evident I hired another plumber after four months of plunging a toilet every day despite the work I paid for Within three minutes, he saw that there was an issue which the previous plumbers were asked to investigate. He fixed this within the hour, but the toilet is also defective. I am completely disgusted, When I hired them, two different people at that company (when I had a question )responded with "you're just going to have to trust us" and I did !!! Do not trust them! To the credit of all the guys that came out, they were all delightful people, but apparently when something goes wrong, the owner simply chooses not to be responsible !!!! I am not sure how good a plumber they sent out either because he missed something after HOURS that was evident to another Plumber within minutes ! But in fact, it was the owners responsibility to send someone back out and guarantee their work I met the owner a few years ago and thought if anything goes wrong when I hire them I would trust this guy to be fair. What a joke! Even after all the rudeness that I encountered, after waiting three months for a response, I politely responded to each ridiculous email and asked them to consider making things right . I had to pay a different Plumber for the work that they said they did and now I'm going to have to purchase another toilet and pay for that install as well. Let me start off by saying that the work we had done turned out perfectly fine. The reason for my low review is in regards to billing and customer service. I called SP and reported that we had a leaky outdoor faucet that needed repair. The lady on the phone was very nice. She told me that the charge for the plumber service would be $10 for the trip and $140 labor charge for a one-hour minimum plus parts. The plumber showed up with a young lady and replaced the faucet. When we got the bill, there was an additional $85 charge for assistant plumber service, which came as a surprise. I called the office for clarification and ended up talking to Craig (or Greg). He told me that ours was a two-plumber job (not sure how he knew that our leaky faucet was a two-plumber job). He said that he saved me money by only charging me $85 for the second plumber. No apology was offered and his demeanor was dismissive. I think that I should have been told up front that I would be paying for an additional plumber. Moral to the story: I recommend that you get confirmation on the complete charges prior to scheduling work with SP. read more

Very impressed. Called this AM when I found an underground water line to house leaking. Within an hour, the service locators were here, a half hour later the asphalt cutters, and before they were done the plumbing crew was headed in. The job was complete before noon. I looked for a small business thru the yelp plumbing guide. Four companies later, decided to call the "BigOne" SEVERSON Plumbing, I have seen their trucks everywhere. Being new to Bend, no connections, I was very leery of the big companies, always wanting the big jobs. The little guys wanted details, pics, more pics, emails...weeks out for appointments and then no call!! (I think they wanted the big jobs), I was in tears. This was a water heater install. The job description was explain on the phone before the tech showed up. They quoted me $700 for a 4 hour job to replace my existing GE 50-gal electric with my new Rheem 80-gal electric Hybrid. While on the phone, the representative is taking to Robert the tech relaying what I would like done and the quote is given. I asked if they had experience with this type of water heater and they said yes. Robert shows up at my home an hour late and approaches me without a mask on. After he places a mask on his face he removes the new water heater from the box. He tells me he won't be able to install the condensate line because it would go over the 4 hour install schedule therefore costing me more then the original $700. Where do I even begin?!? We had 2 toilets installed and a plumbing issue related to our dishwasher not working. This basically new dishwasher hadn't worked in 1.5 years and Drew situated a plumbing line so the water would flow better and voila! Dishwasher works again. Also one of the toilets I purchased at Lowe's was too big for my bathroom door to clear and I told Drew all of this on his way here and he turned the truck around to go back to his will call and got a toilet that would fit in my bathroom. Our small neighborhood private water system developed an underground leak in December in the main 4 inch supply line. Severson's team responded with an outstanding crew who spent many hours in 17 degree wet and snowy weather to manually dig 5 feet down into rocky soil, carefully avoiding a buried power line near the leak, and repaired the piping main. Throughout the job they remained cheerful, professional and dedicated to the work at hand despite the miserable working conditions. They got water restored to our neighborhood as soon as possible, for which we were all very grateful. Not only did he fix the leak, he turned the gas back on and checked the water heater, oven, stove and fireplace to make sure all were working well.
