Diversified won out by having a slightly lower price and by being a bit more willing to listen to what we wanted rather than push a higher performance appliance that we didn't need. Between having their rep come out to provide a quote (which was provided that day) and completed installation, just one week elapsed. Two days of that was us waiting on getting another quote. That time included their obtaining a permit from the city. And it was just two days later that the city inspector came out and approved the install. Despite being a relatively basic model, the new furnace heats the house much more efficiently than the previous one, which struggled even when it worked. Diversified gets a fifth star because of the way they handled an issue getting the correct model installed. Once the problem was identified, their technicians fixed it within hours without a hint of pushback.
