IKEA is less of a furniture store and more of a Scandinavian escape room where the grand prize is…read moreeventually finding the exit. You walk in thinking, "I just need a shelf." Three hours later you're wandering through a fake Swedish apartment carrying a lamp named BLÖRGENFLÜGEN, questioning every decision that brought you to this moment. There are no shortcuts. There is no freedom. You WILL see the kitchens. You WILL see the bedrooms. You WILL walk through 14 living rooms. IKEA doesn't have aisles. It has a plot. And apparently the adventure doesn't necessarily end when you buy something. Customer complaints across review sites repeatedly describe delivery problems, missing or damaged pieces, refund delays and customer service frustration. Then comes assembly. IKEA hands you 173 pieces of wood, 46 screws, three mysterious metal objects and an instruction booklet containing absolutely no words. Just a little cartoon man smiling. WHY IS HE SMILING? Six hours later the bookshelf is leaning 11 degrees to the left, you have four screws remaining, your relationship is under federal investigation, and suddenly that cartoon man feels disrespectful. And heaven help you if something is missing. IKEA's own support pages have dedicated instructions for missing merchandise and replacement parts, which feels less like customer service information and more like foreshadowing. The meatballs are good, though. Which might actually be IKEA's greatest psychological achievement. They put you through a furniture-based hostage situation and halfway through go: "Would you like some gravy?" Yes. Yes, I would. Because I've been trying to locate the checkout since Tuesday. IKEA doesn't sell furniture. IKEA sells side quests. The dresser is just what you receive after defeating the final boss with an Allen wrench. Zero stars. Although I'll probably be back. I still need the matching nightstand.

Steven was an absolute rockstar; he was very patient, attentive, and didn't make us feel pressured whatsoever. One of the concerns we had was related to transporting of the couch itself as we had originally intended to pick it up by SUV. In expressing our concerns to Steven, he went out of his way to request that his supervisor locate the exact dimensions of the sofa as it would be delivered in the two separate boxes (H x W x D) as well as the weight of each box for the delivery. Moreover, despite the couch being sold out online, Steven went out of his way to coordinate with his manager an timely delivery date that fell within our work availabilities much earlier than we had anticipated given the online estimate. Highly recommending that partnering up with Steven here at Ashely's furniture for any future furniture needs!

I saw Burlington and thought it would be a good place to go. My first impression upon entry was WOW. It was bright, clean, and organized. It was my first time here. This is my 2nd Burlington I've been at. The 1st Burlington was at Ontario Mills. Funny, I was so mesmerized with the atmosphere and their merchandises (they got a little bit of everything... selections are good) that I forgot why I was here in the first place. Anyway, I perused around for a little bit. I saw a nice red heart & white flower mug and it was only $3.99. I ended up getting it to replace a mug that I recently threw away. Yay! I also picked up a nose trimmer for my hairy nose (just kidding LOL). Check-out was easy. The lady staff was pleasant. If you're wondering, I did eventually use the all gender restroom. They have two of them that require a code. However, they can only be opened by the staff members... not sure why. Maybe it is a preventive measure from shoplifting. The next time I'm at SDP, I'll have to spend a bit more time here and see what other goodies are up for grabs. See you here!
