Unfortunately I really liked the store however I just had a very bad experience I put something on hold and then less than 24 hours they did not honor the hold and sold it anyways. This place has lots of inventory but its displayed in a will nilly manor. It's a warehouse atmosphere with no organization, making it hard to get to pieces to for a closer look. Prices are hit or miss. Lot of pieces were dinged up which I suspect is due to the disorganized state of their showroom. Disclaimer: I have not bought anything from here. I've prowled this store more times than i'd like to admit in the last 2 months as I have recently moved into a new place and was hoping to score some gently used, moderately priced furniture. Gently used treasures?Yes, if you're willing to look hard. Moderately priced? Heck no! You're better off buying new furniture then hoping to score a deal here. Ironically, I bought a new dining set at a Big Name Furniture store, saw the exact set(used) at this consignment store significantly marked up. I think walking into this store is an accident waiting to happen. It's a maze to try to find a decent walk way. It's even more dangerous if you spot a coffee table strategically placed under an ottoman blocked by a couch set and attempt to find the price tag. I will say that I have tried to purchase something once but I was placed on hold behind 2 people and it was snatched up. This place is very hit and miss--sometimes when I come here everything looks like it came straight from a model home (and that might have been the case!) and other times, like the other day--most of the inventory looked older and a bit sad. Also, I noticed MANY of the items had SOLD tags on them--really? Why don't they get them off the floor then?! Arrggghhh. I have sold some paintings here in the past--I think they take 50-60%, I don't remember exactly. The pricing is too high--don't they realize they're charging retail for USED stuff? The staff here are not overly pushy--they always seems wrapped up in something behind the counter--like paperwork or something? Once in a while someone will ask you if you need help and then disappear..and if you do have a question--it's hard to get help even tho they don't seem understaffed?! read more

I have found some nice pieces here and sold items with agreed upon rates. Neil is a great salesman and manager. He made it feel like the store was his and showed us multiple items with passion and energy. Learnt that he has left today. That's too bad- the place will not be the same. If you're for used furniture but don't want crap, this is the only consignment store in the Sacramento area for you. I have visited this shop several times and recently made my first purchase. There are always many staff members available to help you on your search. The inventory changes often and it's never poor quality. Which is not to say they don't have great prices. At several price points for any room in your house and sometimes outdoors, there's the perfect piece. They take credit or cash and will deliver for $75. Alternatively, I liked that they offered to leave the item at their store for a few days if I needed time to coordinate a pick up. I didn't, and the guys in the back loaded up my purchase quickly. Home Consignment Center took care of us during our move. Moving from Camino they came to our home to preview the furnature and decor available to consign and provided two moving companies to reach. We had the items moved to the Folsom store and they sold most everything very quickly. I had an antique buffet which didn't sell and they donated it in my behalf to hospice. I have shopped at Home Consignment Center as well, very pleased with the service. read more

He had no problem holding the necklace for one day because I needed to see if it would work on a pendant that I was having made. When I returned to the store the necklace was locked in the safe foe me. It was a great price and I have since brought a piece in for consignment. read more

I didn't find anything that I wanted to take home with me but everything looked really nice and I am actually thinking about picking up a really neat wood with leather trim bar with some barstools that is very reasonably priced. The 1 star is for Lois. Like Jill from Folsom said in her review there appears to be a new manager with a British accent. I went to the store once to talk to Lois, she asked me to send pictures of my chandelier and coffee table. I did and Lois responded to my email that she could not accept the coffee table but asked me to bring in the chandelier. When I arrived at the store with the light fixture and the email from Lois, the manager told me they could not take it, as they are too full. I showed her the email and said I would wait for Lois who was on the phone. When Lois was available, she wrote up the contract and I said I was happy she could help as I had been told the store was getting full. But then Lois informed me that she was told I had been to the store several times and had been turned down. Regardless of some good finds in the store, I will never do business with a company that LIES and puts words in my mouth. I was only at the store 1 time and was told to bring in the light fixture. Why on earth would that staff person say I had been turned down several times. Next time I will donate any items to a charity or organization in need. read more

I came here today with my mom, she is looking for a chair and a few other things for her office that she is redoing. We were first helped by a woman with dark hair, I didn't catch her name but she walked around the store with us, showing my mom different pieces available. She didn't rush her and was making great suggestions. After we parted ways my mom had one more question and Keli came over to us. Keli was great! She is such a sweet person and was such great help. Gave my mom so many great suggestions, and never once rushed her or tried to push a sale. The customer service here was superb! They have some really nice products here and great prices! read more

Had the best shopping experience in this store a few weeks ago, and I didn't even come in looking to buy anything! Used to be a semi-frequent shopper but stopped going in because it seemed like the store was getting messy and cluttered, and mainly because the customer service was non-existent. I don't really care for the big corporate stores, but at least their salespeople will acknowledge my existence when I pass them and try to answer questions if I have any. Finding help in this place was always extremely difficult, and sometimes I got more attitude than anything. Me and my girlfriend decided to pop in last week, since it's right next door to the grocery store. Wow, what a change! Store was organized and looked really good! Was greeted at the door by a very nice guy (don't remember his name - think he was the manager - Asian guy and had long hair). He showed us around the store, and pointed out some of the new stuff they'd just gotten in. We started talking and my gf mentioned that she may be looking for a new sofa soon. He showed us a few options and explained how to look for good quality. He pulled off the cushions, unzipped things, and told us about how to care for the fabric - really knowledgeable. He looked at pics we had of her living room and suggested we add a table behind the sofa and possibly a few chairs too. He then found a table, some chairs, and a few other things (a really cool bookcase and some fake trees and some lamps), and then moved half the store around until everything was in place around the sofa so that we could actually see how the whole thing would look in her room! Wow, now that's service! Somehow, we ended up buying just about everything he suggested (except for the fake trees, she didn't care for them). Prices here are extremely reasonable, and we saved a ton from going to a regular store. They just delivered recently and everything looks fantastic. OVER PRICED. Strolled by, saw a few nice items. Most of the stuff here is scratched or marked; however they still price things at 200-2000.00. If you don't know how to shop and get things on sale or with coupons at high end stores then I can see someone shopping here. This constore has tons of great furniture and amazingly low and/or reasonable prices. The only thing I wish they would do is put each item on their website, but then that would cost money and we would pay more for furniture as a result. They have classy items from decor, accessories, bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, living room furniture, and outdoor patio sets. They tend to be a bit lean in the office furniture category, but then again it's called "Home" Consignment Center, so fine. The staff is always available and pleasant. They ask if they can help me find things when I am looking around. In a store like this, that's great. I may miss something they know is in a "hidden" area or they may have knowledge of something they're receiving soon. That way I get the jump on other potential buyers out there. Great service. A word of common sense to those complaining in their negative reviews of this place about sold tags on items on the floor. Hello, McFly?? Is anyone home? It's a giant warehouse full of furniture. Move them off the floor? To WHERE? Ummm, like outside? In the weather? How exactly do you want them to move things off the floor?? Think about your words before you write them. Would you want to buy items that are moved outside so that annoying people like you can then whine about how they leave items outside in the rain? The fact that items have sold tags on them means their prices are right because people are buying their items! I worry for the human race. I really worry. Stay away! These people came to my house and told me my bedroom furniture set would be perfect. So I loaded all of it in my truck and drove miles and miles to Folsom. When I got there, they told me my stuff was junk and they would take it off my hands for free. What was wonderful was now junk, and not good enough for their store. The reason? They didn't look it over well when it was at my house. So I spent several hours driving to this crappy place for nothing. It cost me $20 in gas. All they did was insult my furniture when I got there. This store is just ok, I've never purchased anything here as it's very plain average home decor. I did decide to consign here once, brought in a large print I had framed (total cost $300+) I was told they would price it at $49, wow really (they had prints from the 80's priced higher then my vineyard tuscan print). I just went with it and left the print there, I later got a check for a whopping $29 when it sold. I'll go back to selling my home decor on Craigslist or at a garage sale. I would have recovered a lot more on my investment. I won't make the mistake of consigning again. read more

The description states "wheelchair accessible". Right. I've been in the store once before, and I notified management that I was not able to move my wheelchair see any merchandise outside of the main aisle- they apologized, no mention of any improvement or any way that I *could* see any of the merchandise. Went back to the store on Monday, May 27- Veteran's Day. I tried to get inside to look around again. I had trouble getting to the doorway due to the merchandise half-hazardly placed items that the store seems to have vomited out onto the sidewalk in front of the store. Had some issues getting around the items to get to the front door, and saw a wonderfully chalked sign in the front of the store stating "We Honor Our Veterans". Great- but I could not even enter the store- literally. There were cabinets and a couch directly in front of the door. A few customers tried to gently move some of the items, but either side they tried to open just wasn't wide enough. I attempted to summon management to address this- no response. I was louder next time, and Lois eventually sauntered over. (my impression, of course. It may have been that the isles inside the store were as cluttered as the front.) Lois ineffectually attempted to move some of the furniture, with no result. The cabinets could be moved side to side, but there was just no room to move that couch. After a few half-hearted attempts, Lois looked toward me and shrugged. They may "honor their veterans", but those Vets just can't come in if they're disabled. I told Lois that I would vote with my wallet. And I have and will- they will never see a dime of mine in their register. read more

This place is really awful. I've never found anything decent in the store. It looks like a weird, disorganized warehouse. Nothing in it is a great find, quality mechandise, or at a good price, considering it is all used furniture. As far as trying to consign pieces, you are asked to email photos, and then a very rude woman will call. Not sure what the problem is, but if you deal with consignment pieces, your people skills should be better . In the end, I chose to sell my furniture elsewhere, as the woman was so unpleasant. The last thing I would want is to have any further interactions with her! After reading some of the other reviews, it was a good thing to! I got full asking price, and did not have any of their weird "additional" fees for furniture taking too long to sell, or payment that they were too lazy ( oh, sorry "busy") to send. Stay away from here, and sell your furniture online instead. read more

Customer service is terrible. One of the lady's that works there will not stop talking.. if you go you'll know. She repeats herself, It seams to be due to her thinking she is the only one with a good idea. Complained to another associate which appeared to be in agreement when I was not present infront of my daughter "that I purchased that couch, now I want to purchase another" the other responded "ya, I know". The feet were too loose on the bottom of couch, I think they are starting strip on the couch they were selling me. It was a burden for me to inspect my purchase. read more

I have gotten several items for my house here, including a beautiful set of table and chairs. This place is the best consignment store for furniture. They have amazing deals and they let you place items on hold for a full 24 hours. Items are all very gently used. They have a fairly nice selection of jewelry here as well. They are priced way less than a jeweler and there are several beautiful vintage pieces. Tons of great artwork hanging on the walls with pretty frames at more than decent prices. Sales associates are very knowledgeable about what they are selling and are eager to help you find what you are looking for. read more

Just a warning: Don't trust Ashley Home Furnishing!!!!! Product is OK but delivery, damaged goods on delivery, and customer service is BAD. If you buy, the store you buy from ,will tell you they have nothing to do with it. Their Corp. , Delivery and sales have NOTHING to do with each other. It has happened now to me and people I know over 6 times. Last example is my wife bought a dinning room table and it took 3 times to correct the dameged parts. A living room coffee table set was bought at the same time, and came damaged. I went to Ashley and they said because it was sent UPS it was no longer their issue. Never new they sent UPS???? Every time it was sent by their Delivery DEPT.. NOBODY AT ASHLEY HOME.. Has anything to do with any other part of their own company. Also if you listen to all of their commercials they say they deliver their own product. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please share this. This is such a great store! Consignments that are very quality and name brand. Some new items also. A terrific variety of furniture, knick knacks, paintings, and jewelry. I drop by at least once a week-sometimes more! I have purchased a lot of my furniture there, including my new LEATHER couch for $624!! Not a scratch on it. I couldn't believe my luck. There is also a sister store in Roseville, but it isn't as nice. The Folsom store has super nice employees that do most anything to help you. I can't say enough good about this place! read more

Awesome place. I just bought a 3500 square foot home and needed the whole thing furnished. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by a very friendly lady who I later found out was the manager. She was very patient with me and helped me furnish the entire home. The amount of money I saved on this furniture that appeared to be either brand-new or barely used was tremendous. I highly recommend that you go visit the folks at home consignment center in Folsom. The very pretty red headed woman who is the manager is great. We have done lots of business here, buying and selling. Good place for a consignment store. You have to go often and pull the trigger quick on good stuff you see. You have to keep an open mind. And, yes, you have to walk carefully through a crowded space. But that's a consignment store. We have bought good stuff much cheaper than new, and we have sold stuff. They call you back, they deliver and pickup as promised, We keep going back. And, hey, they are next door to Trader Joes - that's cool too. read more
