Great customer service, met the owner and he was lovely! Great menu options. Parking was a b!tch so have fun with that, small cutsey cafe, the drinks came out in a few minutes and my matcha was really good quality but I feel my drinks came out sweeter than I had hoped but were good quality. I understand the general trend is for drinks to be on the sweeter side but I was hoping that because of the raving reviews that it would come out closer to my preference. I believe that this may be more of a reflection of the area. If you prefer your drinks more balanced or not too sweet, I would be sure to assist that during your order

Slightly hidden off of Colorado Blvd, Home Brewed Bar is a quaint coffee and pastry shop with a cozy atmosphere. The inside is small, with some seating and a few board games spread around to play. The menu includes the option of free substitution for lactose free milk. There are also premade food options as well. I ordered the Spinach cheese croissant and the Pain au chocolate croissant. Both were very flaky with sparse filling. Overall, would recommend Home Brewed Bar more for the coffee than the pastries!

What a quaint modern cottage-like cafe somewhat hidden and very unique. It's slightly overpriced for my taste (most specialty regular sized lattes are over $8), but if you want to treat yourself you should prance over or drive...if you snag nearby 2 hour street parking. As for the coffee they have plenty of options ranging from popcorn matcha to coffee with boba! I ordered a hot rose latte and it was delicious. Order at the counter or using the electronic kiosk. Just know that it's a small place, if you lucky out with a table and chair then enjoy. Otherwise, you may need to take it to go. Enjoy!

Came here to study for a bit. The cafe has great music and personality to it. There were outlets along the wall. I tried a banana matcha, skeptical at first given it was almost $10, but it was surprisingly very good. I could clearly taste the banana, like an actual blended and integrated banana. I felt healthy rather than just caffeinated as other banana matchas make me feel. would definitely come again! i ended up staying till close, the lady working there was closing up shop and I got the message clear; I appreciate her for allowing me some time to clean up and get the message on my own accord. Would definitely come again. I parked street parking, 2 hr max fyi

Love that it's off the main road so quieter and loads of free street parking. Cute and small inside but there's also seats outside. So many drinks and seasonal lattes. + Regular pistachio cold brew latte ($7.90): super pricy, but I enjoyed the pistachio flavor, more nutty than syrupy! And bit more milky than other shaken espressos I've had but so yum (8/10)

Home Brewed Bar had been one of my favorite spots for tea or coffee for the past decade plus. When I worked in old town Pasadena, I used to frequent their previous location, which was closer to my office. It wasn't the closest place to grab a cup of tea or coffee, but I always felt like it was worth the walk. They have extremely creative and premium drinks with innovative flavors. Service is very strong. They offer great suggestions. I am very happy that their standard base for milk tease is non-dairy, something I usually end up paying extra for. Their new location has easier parking and is a very cute building with a courtyard. I recently met a friend there, but we were on limited work breaks, and I was so distracted that I forgot to take a photo of my pistachio latte. I really enjoyed it. This is one of the tea shops in town that I will continue to frequent.

Been awhile and we were in the areas so we had to drop by. Just perusing the goodies and ordered a Sweet n Salty PB Latte. Man, still good. So good lol. They got that savory and sweet combo locked down. Thank you!

Super cute cafe, there is seating outside and inside. There are tea options along with coffee options. I got the Strawberry Jasmine 75% sweet, it is alright overall. Not the best tea I have had but not the worst. I think if you like things more sweet, definitely get it more sweet. They also have food options, I personally did not try them. As for parking there is street parking right in front but if not, there is a parking structure not too far that is 1.5 per 30 mins with a $12 max rate.

(+) Matcha MT (+) Vanilla Toddy latte Home brewed bar is a tea/coffee shop that brews each drink carefully and super fresh. The shop is inviting and there are plenty of tables to sit down and enjoy a drink with good company. They do offer freshly baked pastries and other goodies, that I have yet to try. Drinks: I've been here a few times and enjoyed my visit each time. The drinks I have tried are the matcha latte and vanilla toddy latte. The matcha taste is bold and not too sweet. I would say it is one of my favorites, as their matcha is done well. The vanilla latte is basic, in a good way. I enjoyed each sip! The fresh coffee taste does the trick. They are known for their milk teas as well, which I will try next time. Service/Ambiance: The service is solid. My drinks were made in 5-10 minutes, which did not feel like a long time. The first time I went, it wasn't busy, but the second time I went, all of the indoor tables were occupied. This shop is great for catching up with friend(s) and very welcoming. Overall, with all the coffee shops in Pasadena, I would recommend Home Brew Bar for their variety on the menu and fresh tasting drinks. They do an excellent job and create drinks that will tickle your taste buds.

I used to go to their old location, and I was told that they have moved to this new place since 2 years ago. I could not thinking about the tasty drink I used to have, and decided to stop by. It is located on a small street that is pretty quiet. I was able to find street parking easily. Decorations were modern, warm, cozy, and welcoming. There was a line when I came in at 3pm on a weekday. Baristas were busy serving. The drink took a while to prepare as they were a bit busy. We ordered pistachio matcha latte and ube white chocolate. The pistachio matcha latte is on the lighter side, especially the flavor of pistachio. The white ube white chocolate was wonderful, but it is on the sweeter side. I like the ube while chocolate much better. Will come by again.

I was at Jackalope Fair and this was in the vicinity. I had no plans of coming here, but I was already there and it was a hot day. I had the matcha pistachio. The overall drink was okay. It was lacking pistachio flavor. I know it was there, but it was definitely on the light side. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, but can be busy.

Marcela L.

This coffee spot has many unique and tasty coffee drinks. Some are a too sweet for my liking, but I enjoy that it's different from other coffee shops. The times I've visited the baristas have been able to answer my questions regarding dairy which I appreciate.

Dave H.

One of my favorite hole in the wall coffee and tea spots. Lots of different coffees, espresso based drinks plus a variety of hot and cold teas plus matcha! They have a peanut butter latte to die for! Super friendly service and chill atmosphere plus pastries and sandwiches. Indoor and outdoor seating free WiFi

What kind of matcha do they use?

What is the house milk?

You guys are Black Owned?

Hi, I’m Brian, I’m one of the owners who is regularly in the shop, and I’m Filipino! Jared is another one of our owners and he’s Black. We are really proud to be a Filipino and Black family owned business. Come say hello!

What exactly is the Stranger Things drink?

Strango Things! It's a strawberry and mango blended lemon frosty. One of my favorites! - brian

Do i mees to pre order the homey? If i need 4-5 of those?

You don't need to pre order the homey but they are available while supplies last. We do have quite a few so no danger now. If you'd like to pre order for quicker service you can always do that as well. Email: info@homebrewedbar.com for any orders…

Is the chai tea for the iced chai's fresh each cup or is it from concentrate?

Fresh homebrew

What are the milk options?

Whole Nonfat Half & Half…

What is the non dairy creamer (house milk) made out of? Is the base almond, soy, etc.?

Non dairy creamers still have milk just a smaller percentage - fyi! I would ask for the drink without this if you have any allergies or are plant based.

How often do you restock your mini growlers and growlers? Every time I go there isn't any :(

Hi! We usually have them in stock but we are currently working on sourcing a new type of growler. We have found it so now we are working out the details. We will let everyone know via our IG account. @homebrewedbar…

We arrived just after they opened at 7am and were quite literally the first customers of the day. Thanks for opening your doors to us! This place is such a unique blend: part hip-hop vinyl shop, part artsy cafe, and all-around good vibes. The music selection is top notch, and I loved browsing the cute merch and randomly awesome stationery items. Service was super friendly. My husband had a great conversation with one of the guys behind the counter about the shop's minimalist decor, and we learned Two Kids has been thriving for 10 years. I hadn't been in since right around the pandemic, so it was heartwarming to see they made it through and are still flourishing. The espresso was absolutely luscious, and as a bonus, we got the prettiest latte art with hearts in our drinks, big love for that! Really wish I had more time to hang out on the comfy couches in the middle of the shop and soak in some vinyl tunes. Can't wait to come back and spend a morning here the right way, highly recommended!

However, still a great spot for reading or socializing! I didn't try and pastures but they looked good and the staff was super friendly. Menu is written for people who mfiht not be familiar with coffee shop terms, but still the same items you'd find at any cafe! I'm not typically an Almond milk person, but their house made almond milk is so good! not too early - perfect for an Iced Matcha Latte.

The one issue I have with them is they show a loyalty program in terms of entering your phone number -- if you order online as well as the register. But I've never gotten any points. I once asked the owner about it and he claimed that they do in fact give out items, and said he would check on it that night when I told him the situation. But he never actually asked my name and info, and I've still never received any points since, despite having ordered here about twice a week for the past several weeks. Right next door, find Uncle Fung Coffee Stall, his daughter's tribute to her Indonesian roots. Here, relax in the retro-modern space and enjoy coffee and tea with an Indonesian flair. The vibe feels timeless. The paint-speckled brick walls and polished tiled floors starkly contrast the heirloom porcelain and framed Indonesian memorabilia. Small square tables and metal chairs are crammed into the narrow space. Close to opening, seats are plentiful, and serene pop blends with the espresso machine; later in the morning, the air is filled with chatter, and the queue stretches to the door. Of the drinks, our go-to has been The Putu, a pandan-forward latte that isn't too sweet. But don't sleep on the Indonesian pastries. I particularly enjoyed the Dadar Gulung, a vibrant green pandan crepe filled with sweet coconut. The scarlet, tortoise-shaped Angku Kueh is stuffed with an addictive mung bean filling. The Talan Ubi sweet potato-and-coconut treats tasted like fall. The Kueh Lupis, a sticky rice triangle with a side of palm sugar syrup, sports a spot-on Q texture, but is one-dimensional in flavor. Service is friendly and efficient. Pastries cost about ~$3-5, while specialty beverages run in the $7-8 range. The location is stellar (just steps away from the Alhambra Farmers Market), and the coffeehouse fare is uniquely crave-worthy. The flavour combination and sweetness level of The Putu was perfect. I love that the bold delicious espresso came through, it wasn't overpowered by the sugar, pandan flavour or coconut cream. The drink wasn't too heavy or creamy, it was just so well balanced it left me wanting more! The Putu Ayu however was just alright. The cake flavours were fine, but it was just a bit dry for my taste.
