We in the past few days completed our forth move with Home and Office Movers again, they were impressive! This most recent move we were supported by a professional team of three movers. They were all professional, courteous and thorough while also being quick and nice guys. Regardless we did not have time to pack, they meticulously packed up for us. Furniture that required to be disassembled and reconstructed was done skillfully. These guys also moved our outdoor furniture and plants, and all came in excellent condition. Check your invoice - My elderly father was moved by this company and the driver packing him up tacked on an unaccounted $300+ fee along with charging $50 for over 10 steps when it was only 9. Both fees were removed but unsure why they were added. Please make sure to check your invoices that everything totals correctly. Also make sure you fully understand all of the fees that can be added, elevator, steps, long haul..etc U Also unsure why you have to pay cash or cashiers check upon delivery when you can use a credit card for deposit, and personal check for pack up-a bit odd. read more

I will never use this company again. They delivered my dresser chest damaged. After submitting a claim for lost damage they tried to put the blame on me to say that I didn't disassemble it. To start, when I ordered dresser chest it came delivered in one piece. Next, when the company came to my storage unit, they disassembled other furniture for moving. Lastly, the company stated the would disassemble and reassemble any furniture that needed to for pickup and drop-off. If they are now saying that the dresser chest should have been disassembled, why didn't they do it. The crew were excellent and went the extra mile. Courteous, hardworking, tried their best to be as quick and secure as possible while also being careful in each details. The guys had to move the washer and dryer from a very narrow place and they did it very professionally. Moving to new place is a difficult task. We relocated into a house that had a steep track and a narrow downstairs area with entrance only from the outside, it would perhaps make a mover cringe but home and office movers got the job done smooth and with ease. The delivery team was amazing! Too bad the rest of my experience was a nightmare. The original window was Saturday to Sunday, and when I was provided my window it was Sunday 4-7 pm! who schedules a delivery pick up that late? oh, probably so they can say they got this scheduled in the the dates I requested. Coincidentally I then receive a phone call at 1:00pm that the truck broke down and I will have a pick up first thing Monday. Monday comes and then the window was changed 8-11. They showed up at 11:30 and proceeded to charge me $385 in materials for moving! I'm sorry I boxed everything and wrapped the mattresses myself. None of the pick up team was professional or courteous. I reached out asking if I would receive any compensation for all of the scheduling and having to now take 2 days of PTO. I was given $100 discount, which I then explained to their manager, Nicole, was an offensive response. After reviewing everything she provided another $100 discount. Let's be honest $200 off the price of a move is nothing. There was zero customer service from her and she didn't even reach out via a phone call but rather through a text! COWARD. I highly recommend against Home and Office Movers. Communication is very poor. Once they pick up your things, they provide only an extensive 2-30 day window for when your things will arrive at your new place. I recommend reading the contract very carefully before signing and paying. They do not guarantee anything, even when asking for payment in cash. When I called customer service for an update, the only thing they've stated is: "the route is being finalized." It seems strange to me that a moving company would pick up my things without any idea of how they would deliver them in a timely manner. read more

Absolutely DO NOT recommend at all. They are scammers. They use drivers with driving violations and they don't do proper maintenance on moving trucks. The truck with our things crashed into a ditch due to the brake failure. 40% of our things were damaged and didn't even get delivered. The rest of 60% was severely damaged. There were no boxes that had a box shape. They were all damaged and crushed. After all this ordeal, they haven't answered our calls, emails, text messages. Poor communication and paperwork, my husband was surge deployed so we couldn't pack everything neatly and the movers just threw things in boxes, I have broken mug, my Bible is completely bent and my stuff was just treated horribly. I had my son's items moved and was told they would be delivered the next day. I have not heard from anyone. Tried to call the numbers on the bill of lading contract, service order form, and invoice, two of the numbers aren't working and the other rings to a cell phone that goes to Voicemail. My son is a college student, none of hiss items are with him and I just want to know when his items will be delivered. I feel that I am being scammed! There is no reason why we should not have an estimate date of when his items will be delivered but there was no issue to schedule pickup. I sincerely hope our items haven't been stolen. At delivery they said i had to come to the truck stop and provide my own truck or pay $500 more for their shuttle to deliver to my delivery address that i signed off on . There are two parts to this review. The first part concerns the packing and moving crews. The 4-man team that packed and loaded our belongings was excellent, as was the 3-man team that delivered and unloaded, and unpacked the furniture. However, the management group was either incompetent or dishonest. After my furniture was loaded onto the truck, I was told that I owed $10,046 more than my original minimum charge of $8,000. I was not given any explanation for the huge price increase. Since my furniture was already loaded on the truck, i had no choice but to pay the extra cost. This made the total cost for Home & Office Movers was $18,046. I had already paid the broker (Amerisafe) $11,888. This meant that i would be paying $29,935 for moving the contents of a 1200 sq. ft. apartment. That seems incredibly expensive to me. Subsequently, the broker tod me that Home & Office Movers would subtract $2000 from my final bill, but they only deducted $1900. Another lie! It took 9 days to deliver my furniture, and I the only communication I got was 45 minutes before the truck arrived. In summary, the people who actually did the work of packing, moving and unloading were great, but the management is either grossly incompetent or simply dishonest. My vote is dishonest. read more

Do not recommend! They told me they would move my belongings in two days and took one month! I was charged twice as much as I was originally told but couldn't do anything about it. They're a smaller company moving "brokers" hand you over to- I never actually hired them. They repeatedly lied about when my stuff was arriving and avoided/ didn't return my calls. These guys came to my house today to move furniture. They didn't follow my directions, wrote on one of my cabinets, and nicked up my hallway by hitting it with one of the cabinets they were moving. Refused initially to use Cling Wrap until I got mine out (wanted to use tape). Didn't wrap the whole dresser (only the front and sides). They truly deserve zero stars. If you want to be cheap and get a crappy job done moving, then hire these guys. You absolutely get what you pay for. read more

They lied to us from the beginning. It costs us more and more. Extra charge for the stairs. Told us we were the only ones on the truck only to find out our stuff was taken to a warehouse. Driver insured our things would be delivered on the Monday after pickup, lie. Called Monday to see what time to expect the truck, we were told there is a 14-30 expected delivery. If we wanted it soon there was an additional charge of at lease $1,000.00. They when delivery was made we were missing 6 boxes and we had broken items. We were told we could put in a claim upto 9 months, again we were told "no that's not true " . Here we are 2 months later and still missing our boxes, they claim can not be found. An insurance company called us the same day we signed up with the movers, also insuring we had 9 months to file a claim, another lie. We call and are told the manager is on the road, I get that, but no on ever calls us back. Customer service tells us they will call back, never do. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! read more

If you're reading this, note that I've ranked this business 5 Stars for being the best SCAM Artists! They are a third party company that was hired by the broker that contracted with me and did not move my items to the final destination. They will hire a long haul carrier to deliver the final destination. Each hand involved increases the cost. My original quote was $10,500 from PA to CA. Final cost was $19,500. They will find every additional way to charge extra (wrapping and moving furniture that was in the original contract) and demand a 50% deposit. They will not commit to a set delivery, 2-30 business days but no guarantees. Final delivery required a shuttle because they supposedly couldn't drive the semi into my neighborhood. ($2,600). The driver will require cash or postal money order because they are terrified they will not get paid after the scam they've run. Find another company and hire an attorney to read through the contract. read more

Called Amerisafe on 6/5/2024 and I was given an estimate for 250 sq ft of items to be moved. I called back to add items to ensure that I wouldnt have any problems in regards to more cost. I was scheduled for pick up between June 17-19. Home and office movers I received a call on June 16 and was that movers would be out on the June 17. That a balance would be due and that my items would be delivered in two days. I also received email and it delivery window is between 2-30 days. Movers came in and checked inventory and quoted me a price double of what I was initially quoted. They said the items were larger and they had to charge for packing supplies. I called Amerisafe and told them I wasn't happy because I wasn't aware of the cost of packing material and I gave them the exact same thing they were picking up. He apologized talked to mover about packing and supplies. I decided to allow them to move original amount. They did with not a lot of care haphazardly. Once I saw what was left I asked about the remaining items and the cost three times he tried to get me to pay more I had to tell him to include the initial deposit and what I had given him upon arrival. They didn't even have adequate space for my items to be placed in truck. They had someone else's inside of truck. Once they got everything packed and I am signing documents. One item said delivery will be between 3-21 days. He stated no it would be more like 3-5 days. Today is 6/21/2024 I called and emailed to see if they have a delivery date. I was connected to this mover through a broker Allegiance Moving and Storage LLC and this was the move from hell! Long story short, I would never recommend either of these companies for a long distance move! A total lack of customer service, lack of care with my belongings resulting in damage and destruction. I agreed to insurance of .60 per pound since I haves done numerous long distance moves and never experienced damages. This was a complete mistake because for the destruction of furniture and lamps they offered a $36.00 settlement! I would not use this company! They stored our furniture in a huge warehouse and charged a huge amount for storage. We were charged twice as much when they came to move our stuff. Then when we tried to get our furniture out of storage which is crazy. We were never told that we could not move our own stuff and we had to use them to move it to another storage unit and were charged by the guys we hired as well as them because they held our furniture hostage. The customer service was terrible and never returned phone calls. Review all the complaints because everything else that was said is true. We had used Eagle Movers and then they hired Office and Home Movers to move our furniture. When contacting a moving company be sure to ask if they use someone else to move the furniture as they are the broker and may not move the furniture and do your due diligence to ensure they have a good reputation. Communication is horrible, we had multiple trucks "break down" preparing for our move and we had to be rescheduled TWICE. Absolutely do not recommend this company to anyone! My boyfriend and I used them for our move from New York to North Carolina. Everything they told us changed as they went on from price, to expected delivery, to the services they offer. Picked up stuff on Sunday from my boyfriends house and then proceeded to take a week to deliver it to the new apartment, despite the fact they originally said the longest it would take to get delivered would be 3 days. Stephanie, the woman who handles paperwork, gave us conditions on the contract and then the delivery drivers tried to change around the terms upon delivery. Advertising says that bringing up boxes is included in overall delivery price and then they try to charge my boyfriend an extra 300$ to bring his boxes upstairs when they get there, on top of the fact that all of his stuff was 4 days late. This company should be absolutely disgusted with their service and the amount that they charged for it, will never get my business again and they shouldn't get anyone else's business either! I hired National Moving Service who subcontracted out to Home and Office movers. National Moving Service told me it would cost a certain price, but it was almost double than what the contract stated even though we left behind an entire master bedroom because Home and Office Movers were dishonest. They charged us for a 5 piece sectional couch when it was only 3 pieces. Then they charged us an extra $500 for tape and paper. I told them I would get my own tape and paper. So, they took all the boxes out of the truck and said, sorry we can't move you then. Our flight left the next day so we had no choice but to keep paying them. And they knew that we had to leave the next day, so they took advantage of that. But the biggest problem was that I had a contract stating my furniture would be stored for 30 days and redeliver with no extra charge GAURANTEED. That did not happen either. My furniture was delivered while we were in Japan. They refused to hold it for the 30 days as stated in the contract. Not unless I came up with even more money. I called National Movers to tell them what their subcontractors were doing and that they wouldn't hold our furniture for 30 days as stated in the contract. National Movers said that all their job was to give us a quote. They said it was between their subcontractors, Home and Office Movers, and me now. I had to hire people to put my furniture in I storage until we got back. It was a terrible experience that cost us a lot of stress and triple the price after it was all said and done. I don't know if there are any honest movers out there or not. But I do know, Home and Office movers are by far the most dishonest people I have ever dealt with. And that's who National Movers use for their subcontractors. And don't count on National Movers protecting you from their subcontractors. It won't happen! read more

I would not recommend this company. While the local team they hired was fantastic - friendly, quick, and thorough, the actual company was extremely unorganized and created so much stress for my family. To start, no one on the team seems to communicate with each other. I talked to three different people throughout the process, and had to remind each of details that were discussed with the previous person I spoke to. They have a flex schedule so they do not tell you until about 12 hours beforehand when they will come. They also did not tell me until the day before the move (5 PM on Friday, move was Saturday morning) that they only accept cash, zelle or money order for same day delivery, even though the deposit was able to be paid by credit card. Overall, I paid more than the estimated price, which was expected, but it was almost double the initial quote, which was extremely stressful knowing I had to last minute get cash to pay for the remaining balance and additional cost. I got connected to these movers through Allegiance (which is also a terrible company). I was guaranteed a pick-up date through Allegiance, and then when I spoke with Home and Office Movers, they could not guarantee it and changed my pick-up date to a day where I was already going to move. My father had to take time off work to coordinate with the movers since I was already moving cities. When they called me before the delivery date, I tried to tell them that my building only allows move-in after 10am. They did not accommodate me, came at 9am, and then charged me $165 for the wait. Then they said I had to pay a "long carry fee" because they parked across the street from my freight elevator and had to walk down a hallway to drop off my things. That cost was $150 more. I was guaranteed a pick up date, a flat rate fee, and a delivery date, and none of those things happened. I spoke with Nicole from Home and Office Movers over the phone, and she was not organized nor professional. She seemed like she had absolutely no idea what was going on with her team.
