It's absolutely worth paying a little bit extra to have a well-built frame with good materials, especially since it also supports a local business. We've been having George do basic black framing on movie and TV posters for us for a few years now, but recently had him do a couple of bigger projects on some art for our home. George has a great eye and makes excellent recommendations on color and style that work well with the art, but I think his greatest asset is his ability to listen to the customer and let their personal tastes dictate his recommendations. One of the pieces we were able to settle on quickly, but the other took us a good LOOONG while in his shop going back and forth between many different matte/frame combinations. George was very patient and very helpful through the process. After we left and he began bringing in the materials, the frame that we had taken so long to decide on was not available in the length needed from the original distributer. Instead of informing us it was unavailable and asking us to choose another he spent the time to track down pieces from several different places in the country till he had enough for the frame!
