I paid The FrameStore in Thousand Oaks $1,364.05 to frame a piece of artwork. Two years later, the hanging wire they installed ripped loose from the frame. The whole thing crashed to the floor and glass exploded across the room. I was walking over to sit in the chair right in front of it. A few seconds later and that glass would have come down on me. The chair was so full of shards we had to throw it in the trash. You'd expect an apology. Instead they told me it was my fault for hanging it on one nail instead of two. Their own website makes that excuse ridiculous. Their FAQ describes single-nail hanging for wire-mounted pieces, which is exactly what they sold me. Their two-hanger advice is for D-ring hardware with NO wire. So either the piece needed D-rings and they cut corners with wire, or the wire was fine and their workmanship failed. Either way it's on them. It is not on the customer who hung their product the way their own guidance describes. They brag about a "16-step quality inspection." Not one of those 16 steps caught a wire that couldn't hold the frame. When it failed and nearly hurt someone, they didn't take it seriously. They went straight to shifting the blame. Thirteen hundred dollars bought me a dangerous product, a destroyed chair, a room full of broken glass, and a store that won't stand behind its work. Do not trust them with anything heavy, valuable, or hanging over a place where people sit. Go anywhere else. read more

Absolutely blown away by the service and craftsmanship at FrameStore! I worked with George, and he was amazing from start to finish. He was honest, upfront, and gave me a fantastic price and deal -- no pressure, just genuine expertise. George clearly knows his stuff. He took my jerseys and sports memorabilia and completely transformed them. He designed the entire layout from scratch, and the final product looks incredible -- museum-quality framing that really showcases everything perfectly. It's rare to find someone who's both talented and trustworthy, but George is exactly that. I'll definitely be coming back to FrameStore for all my future framing projects. Highly recommend asking for George if you want your pieces to look their absolute that! read more

i walked into a random professional frame shop needing help removing two diplomas from their frames honestly, i was expecting to pay something for the service, but they did it for free and were so attentive and kind the whole time. i offered to tip, and they were genuinely appreciative the person who helped me was named melody, and they were absolutely lovely. it ended up being one of those rare moments where you feel truly seen as a person--they were socially aware and thoughtful, and we had a really meaningful conversation. their colleague was also super aware and engaged it's not every day you walk into a business and leave feeling that level of care. highly recommend them read more

The art prints came out really nice with the framing. Collin was great to work with and I'll be bringing by some additional art work in the future. Thank you read more

I have worked with Colin at the FrameStore on reframing two of the pieces I own. He is very helpful and they did a fantastic job!!!

I was very disappointed with the service and final products. We had multiple paintings and 2 large tapestries framed here. Melody was very helpful in picking out the frames during our initial visit. The products took many weeks longer than the timeframe that we were told. Melody would tell us it would be x number of days and when I would call, it still was not ready. For one of the paintings, the placement was crooked so we had to send it back Then, there was tape showing so we had to send it back again and still they did not fix it properly. We also noticed some damage to our painting so did not want to keep sending it back. Instead of acknowledging the issue, Melody said "we are the best in town" repeatedly. For our 2 large tapestries, they ran out of the frame we had originally decided and we had to switch to another frame few weeks after placing our order which was disappointing. We were also very clear that the frames had to be the same size since they would be hung side by side vertically but the sizes were different. They also attached the wire to the back in the wrong direction so we had to re do it on our own. Overall with the amount we paid, I would have expected better quality, communication and service. I regret bringing our pieces here. read more

Fantastic experience at FrameStore in Westlake Village. I worked with Melody who was truly creative and efficient - and incredibly helpful throughout. An absolute pleasure. They may not be the cheapest, but always worth every penny and more. If you're aiming for a little extra magic in your framing, this is the place. read more

Went there to frame a large photo. It was almost $2k for a simple frame. Bubbling started showing up pretty quickly. They told me to bring it back. They said they will try to fix. But the bubbling occurred again quickly after. I asked for a refund and offered for them to take back the frame. They refused any type of solution. In my opinion they are overpriced. I have since gone to Framebridge with a lot of projects and had nothing but excellent results for better prices. I would have appreciated any type of resolution but she simply said no returns no refunds nothing. Really disappointed to have thrown $2k away when she was selling me so hard on their "'master framer". If I had known this result could be an option I of course would have never gone forward. read more

Very reliable and helpful. Very knowledgeable and it makes it feel like they will do a great job

Colin was very helpful. They did a nice job of stretching a canvas of great family value and got it done in time for the holidays.

We just picked up our custom frame and we were very pleased with not only the product, but the service. Going in we were unsure what exactly what we wanted, but I made sure to bring photos of the room that the picture would be hanging in. After that, they did the rest as far as helping with the color of frame, designing of the double matting, and the non glare glass was a no brainer since the room gets a lot of sunlight. Thank you guys for making the decision so easy. We will enjoy our new picture on the wall. read more

ridiculously overpriced! Paying for quality work is expected, but knowing the cost of materials and time to build a frame, their prices are beyond absurd. I'll never set foot in another FrameStore again. read more

I visited FrameStore last weekend after doing some research to try to find a place to have my canvas stretched/framed. The piece came from my home country and was very meaningful to me, so I wanted to be sure that I found the perfect place to have it framed. As soon as I spoke to Megan, I knew this place was it! She is so kind and helpful and spent time with me figuring out what would be the best and most cost effective way to frame my piece. Not only did she give me the best price I was able to find for my needs, but she was so pleasant and just a delight to work with. Over the years we have used FrameStore for their very fine frames, workmanship and the quality, skill and taste of their store staff. We have never been disappointed in any framing they have done for us. We have had original fine art paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor framed, as well as certificates and vintage family photos. There has never been a problem with the original art work or its framing. Every piece we have had framed has been handled with great respect and always returned as it was given to them. George, at the Thousand Oaks, FrameStore has been advising us for years. He is a pleasure to work with and his creativity and willingness to listen, experiment and have an open discussion is immeasurably helpful. Quality framing can cost as much as a quality piece of furniture, but art on a wall brings more joy for far longer. read more

Great service, great job! Highly recommend. Gee they need 85 characters to post but that's all you need to know.

The FrameStore in Thousand Oaks has the most beautiful selection of high end frames I've ever seen, and Jenny, their expert framer, is just a genius at matching up the perfect frame to the art. I took her a very challenging job, that I'd given up hope trying to find the perfect frame for, on my own, that would not only go with the art but the rest of my interior, and she came up with the perfect solution. It looks AMAZING and I'm just thrilled with the results!! She's highly educated in the business and has real talent and was such a pleasure to do business with. I would give her 6 stars if I could! She will be getting all of my future business and I highly recommend them. read more

Chrissy guided me through the creation of a beautiful ShadowBox memory for our beloved Golden Retriever. Her creativity and expertise made the process a rewarding and exciting experience at a challenging time. In addition, her photography work added an important and impactful dimension to the project and a number of related photos for gifts. Then, in order to create a wall of my husband's career through diplomas, honorary certificates & awards, Chrissy framed everything beautifully. These memories are very meaningful to him and the family. She made the experience fun and easy -- quite an accomplishment! read more

I came across Framestore while researching replacement vendors for custom framing. I've always done business with Aaron Brothers and their store in my location closed. While doing my research, I came across a 50% off coupon for Framestore. I decided to use it at the Thousand Oaks CA location on 3/16/19. I was very happy with the service and the finished product. Unfortunately, the pricing isn't transparent and thus I will not continue to do business with Framestore. While I was under the assumption that the 50% off coupon would be applied to my purchase, I looked at the invoice and didn't see it listed. When I asked George (the service rep) he replied that the 50% off is already included in the "Every Day Low Price". There's no reference to the 50% off coupon anywhere on the custom framing invoice. Lack of cost transparency causes me to pause in my consideration and recommendation of Framestore for future business. read more
