Hogans Diner is a place that feels like coming home. Staff is always attentive and you can tell they care about the their customers and their community. Even family from out of state loves to visit Hogans! They have gluten free bread available and can accommodate that with my meals. I always love breakfast at a diner and was pleasantly surprised when I was able to have avocado toast with poached eggs today! Having a gluten allergy can be taxing on finding decent spots and not getting burnt out of the same options, but that has not been a problem here! Those not gluten free/vegetarian, have also enjoyed the variety of menu items. Many have said they have some of the most delicious french fries they have ever had. Parking can be a bit tight when busy, especially when 9W is busy, but usually it's doable and there are other lots within walking distance. read more

I wish I had a better experience! Seems like this has good rateings. Food was good but the service was down right rude! Instead of being greeted with a smile, we were asked if a booth was okay and than he walked away and threw two menu's on a table, never to look around or tell us to enjoy our meal! Absolutely no communication or eye contact. We should have left right then! Waitress gave us that same greeting . Literally asked what we wanted while looking at the table across from us! One of the best diner I've been to! My husband and I walked in around noon and had the sweetest waitress serving our table. She would check in to make sure our food was ok and we didn't need anything else every now and then. We ordered a chicken avocado wrap and a roast beef sandwich which blew our minds with how good it was! Nothing was soggy and we were impressed at how much flavour was packed in these sandwiches. A good diner I was up in the Haverstraw area and looking for some breakfast. I like stopping at diners and Hogan's has a great rating. Relying on Yelp to find places is usually a good way to go, and it was again today. I stopped in, was greeted and seated, and fairly quickly had my coffee. The menu is large, as expected at a diner. I often have corned beef hash and eggs when I eat out for breakfast but what caught my eye this time was an Eggs Benedict with corned beef. That sounded good and it sure was. The best part was there was a lot of sliced corned beef, way more than I expected. It was tender and delicious. The Hollandaise sauce was a bit understated but that was fine, the flavor of the meat was the star of this dish anyway. Service was polite and good. There were several other customers while I was there. It was a comfortable place to relax and have a conversation. The area is well served having a good diner like Hogan's. read more

I have been coming to Hogan's for years. Their food has been consistent, table service friendly and efficient. My go to meal would almost always be a delicious cheeseburger deluxe. Nice size portion and sides. However with the Covid situation, Hogan has had to adjust. So they have been offering pick up service. This is fine but I hope in the near future, they will open for indoor table service. Sitting down at a table, with good food and service is more relevant for me and more enjoyable. Came here after a walk in the Bear Mountain area. I was seated right away. The food was good- the usual diner fare. But the service left something to be desired. Our waitress was completely uninterested, standing off to the side, staring into space while I was trying to get her attention on multiple occasions. I even tried to flag someone else down for a refill on my coffee and no one seemed to want to make eye contact. To start, this place is lovely inside, it has a rustic feel, with the wood raised panel walls, it makes it feel very warm and cozy. The acoustic ceiling helps lower noise levels, which is nice. It feels straight out of the 80s. The service was good, the waitress was very nice and had a great attitude. For the food, I got a Turkey & Bacon Triple Decker Club, which was amazing, the bread was toasted to perfection. My Grandpa got the grilled chicken & Avocado sandwich, which was also amazing, the chicken was perfectly grilled, and the avocado was very creamy, and it was topped off with crispy bacon and melted Swiss cheese. He loved it. For dessert, I got the chocolate lava Cake With vanilla ice cream, the lava cake was just the right temperature, and it was gooey on the inside, and as far as vanilla ice cream goes, it was pretty good. Unfortunately Danny Hogan sold the diner and is no longer there. His watchful eye was the key to the constantly good food coming out of the kitchen. The new owner Archie has more excuses for problems with the food than items on the menu. I wish he would be in the kitchen checking the food as it is being sent to the tables rather than pacing back and forth watching and hoping more customers would come in. Most of the menu items have a smaller portion and higher price. Gone is the choice of rice pudding, jello ... with the daily special. Gone is the glass of juice with a breakfast special... It seems it is all about the money rather than the quality of food. At one time seniors were sought after as customers with early bird specials and a Monday only 10% discount. Many seniors have moved up the road to other Stony Point restaurants that appreciate senior business. read more

This is the worst diner out there!!! I ordered a steak and they gave me ground beef shaped as a steak. It was also so bland. I don't know how people can tolerate this!
