The ONLY Hobby Lobby I really go to! Since Hobby Lobby has a bad reputation for their questionable business practices and social justice standards, I severely limit my visits here. However, a friend of mine had a list of grad gift items so we had to pay this place a visit since Hobby Lobby had the artist items on her Grad wish list. Per usual, the staff is super friendly and the lady at the extra register near the mall entrance was super helpful and kind! At the regular, main entrance there's a lot of registers and lines are kept at a moderate level. I love that Hobby Lobby has toys, baking items, Funko merch, art supplies, decor and so much more! It just sucks that this company is alt-right. The store is pretty organized and I find exactly what I need every time I have to visit! There's plenty of parking out front! Oh and Hemet's Hobby Lobby is one of the LAST thriving stores at the Hemet Mall. It's understandable as you can find some solid deals here.

Advertised on sale, but didn't have any when I went to purchase them.

I called earlier in the day to find out if they had the 3 Ring binder Pencil Pouch listed on the Internet. I was put on hold and the gentleman said "yes" we have some. That afternoon I went to the Hemet store; asked employee who was stocking shelf where to find 3 Ring Binder. He said section where pencils and papers were-pointing me in a direction. I went to the area he pointed and found other types of pencil bags, not the one in the advertisement. I selected a few pencil holder bags. When I got to the cashier; she said these were not on sale. She paged an employee; he came up with a one page "ad" and said "no, the ones on sale are called Masters Touch. Again, I was directed to another section of the store. I didn't find the advertised bags on any shelves. I had to be somewhere else and couldn't look further. I ended up buying pencil bags-not of my liking. I believe this store personnel is incompetent. They don't want to help customers unless it is a high ticket item. I would never recommend this store to anyone.

    The prices of sewing materials

I have decided to rate each hobby lobby I've been to in the State of California when it comes to finding the best deals: -- Firstly I want to add, they have a restroom. In fact, I never knew they had one after the years being here. If memory served me right they never had one.. that or I'm mistaking them with another hobby lobby and it might be a warehouse room. -- Now to the actual review itself. During Covid-19 the prices of air foam clay was 12.99.. I want you to realize I bought this clay at the bulk.. I bought in the bulk even when the prices were 12.99. In fact in 2020.. this was the first hobby lobby I bought materials from after having an epiphany, a eureka. -- From my memory, the leather at this location is normally priced. However, its air foam is the least expensive. I would also like to say that Faux Fur had decreased in price in this store, but I believe it is a standard price drop that is universal. Their chains are still 9.99 in this store (the ribbon section).. I am sure other items are cheaper that I don't talk about here.. This store is convenient for me because it's the closest one second to Banning and third being Temecula. Compared to Mira Mesa's Hobby Lobby, the leather at San Jacinto/Hemet is expensive. When I start making reviews about Mira Mesa's Hobby Lobby it may shock you... as it surprised me when I make trips all over the state of California.. the deals there were mind breaking. It made me realize a tough reality over the years. This means, San Jacinto, Temecula, Banning, and other areas in Oceanside may have similar prices; but may have certain huge deal drops that nobody knows about. Mira Mesa.. is one that is the cheapest. -- When it comes to service for this Hobby Lobby, I am starting to believe that management has changed. (I never interacted nor spoke with them, but it's an observation from 2018-2024) ... if anything, majority of the staff are new, with some who remained as the veterans of the hobby lobby. Also keep in mind that apparently each Hobby Lobby I've been to reflects their own culture/society regardless of Hobby Lobby's ideology. There are reasons why prices are the way they are and it reflects the location, the niche, and demographic aside from the fact "we need to sell this material now".. my theory is, the more they have of something and it sells a lot, they will sell it for cheap OR the product becomes old because not enough people buy it; such as certain cheap cosplay paints that they no longer sell. Every hobby lobby I've been to has stopped selling certain items. So you will notice this right away. -- So I advise you to purchase the expired stuff, as it can be refurbished if you understand basic color theory. --

    Hobby Lobby lacking customer service

Today May 3rd, my father who is a veteran asked me to take him to Hobby Lobby in Hemet . I couldn't believe what happen. He started doing Shadow Box and was excited to go to the frame dept. With memorial day coming up he wanted to also frame a beautiful battalion group photo. I can never get him out of the house. I went shopping in the mall. A few minutes later he found me,said framing was closed. I never heard of this!!He showed me this picture. So that spoiled it for him! I found out that this should of never happened after a phone call to corporate. Well, I didn't call the store because it was "Truck Day" and I didn't want to waste that call. So this brought my 1 star rating. Clearly there's some laziness and the customer isn't important anymore!

They are opening one of these stores in Moreno Valley. So when I saw that there was one by the Pollys Pies where I was meeting a friend for lunch I decided to check it out. Boy was I glad I did. This store is amazing. I will be moving sometime this year and will most definitely be coming here to buy things for my place. From wall fixtures to crafting stuff. Big store. My kinda store.

You want to talk to a human and get treated like this. I was going to plug the shop on my youtube channel and also plug it in an upcoming magazine spot.., but.... It used to feel like a chill hole in the wall full of cool people, now it feels very cold and depressing. The layout feels less intuitive to navigate, too but that's more of a nitpick. I used to play Digimon here between 2021 and 2023. They were generally fun and the players were mostly great, aside from the tourists who were only playing because they're mad at Magic and Pokemon, but that's not a conversation for a Yelp review about this store. My one complaint was how a lot of the employees were super elitist about it because it wasn't a popular "real" card game. Not even just saying that, an employee once straight up said I should "graduate to a real card game". I don't remember which employee it was, but the lack of self awareness of someone talking down to someone over TCGs astounds me. I remember two players having a ruling issue during a Digimon tourney and the same employee proctoring the games was very insulting and irritated the whole time, rolling his eyes, complaining and saying he didn't "understand this crap". It's bad enough that an employee does not know the rules of games they are proctoring at a game shop that's hosting the tournaments, but to have such a crappy demeanor? I know geeks are socially challenged, I'm not an exception to this but ffs try, it's your job man. Absolutely not something that makes you wanna come back. I briefly switched to SoCal Games and Comics (now Sanctum) after that, but my issue with that shop was the playerbase, not the employees. I've had some employees not know what they're doing regarding bonus packs that come with booster boxes before, and at least twice have had ones not given to me despite me visibly seeing them in stock. If you work at a game store you should know what releases come with what. That said, there was one employee who was excellent about it and props to him. That guy played Digimon, though, so that's likely why he knew what he was doing. Anyway, I still shop here from time to time but I don't really have a reason to come back now that they've stopped hosting Digimon tournaments in lieu of One Piece (Bandai treats the properties similarly!), which is fine considering the poor judging/proctoring. One Piece probably comes off more like a 'real' card game so best of luck and all. That event really left a bad taste in my mouth about this place, unfortunately. I will say the prices are good, they don't inflate them like other card shops do.

This store is unfortunately starting to feel more like a GameStop than a dedicated TCG shop. The…read morebiggest issue is the "Cultist" membership, which costs approximately $70 per month and, in my opinion, provides very little value for the average customer. The advertised benefits include access to sealed products at market pricing, 5% off singles, and entries into a lottery for the opportunity to purchase certain products at MSRP. However, these perks fall short when the store often has a very limited selection of singles available. Most of the binder inventory consists of heavily played or damaged cards, and there is rarely enough desirable inventory in-store to justify the membership cost. What makes this especially disappointing is that the store wasn't always this way. There was a time when they carried a strong selection of collectible cards and competitively priced sealed products. Today, the retail location feels more like a means to maintain distributor relationships than a store focused on serving the local community. While they are undoubtedly one of the largest names in the TCG industry, that reputation seems to come primarily from their presence at conventions and card shows. The physical storefront often lacks the inventory and customer experience that many collectors expect from a premier hobby shop. To their credit, they offer respectable trade-in values. Unfortunately, those trade-in percentages lose much of their appeal when there is little desirable inventory available to put that store credit toward. On the rare occasions that higher-end products or graded cards are available, the selection tends to be limited and often consists of less sought-after CGC or TAG slabs rather than cards many collectors are actively looking for. I genuinely used to enjoy visiting this store, which makes this review disappointing to write. However, based on my recent experiences, there are better local options for collectors and players looking for inventory, value, and an authentic hobby shop experience. Stores like Rizo and Tier 1 have done a much better job of maintaining the qualities that make a card shop worth visiting.
